HT204053 I changed my Apple ID online but my phone asks me for my password with the old ID.
I changed my Apple ID on my desktop that syncs with my iphone but when I try to download from the iTunes store it asks for my password with my old ID and then bounces both my old and new passwords.
On your device go to Settings>Store, then tap your Apple ID and sign out.
Also, if you use iCloud, go to Settings>iCloud then scroll down and tap "Delete Account".
You should then be able to sign in using your updated details.

Under settings, go to iTunes & App Store - logout of the old account and enter the new account and password.

I Have a new email address which I have entered into settings and it has been verified. I no longer have the old email address. When I try to update an app, it comes up with my old email address and asks for my password. It always comes back with a message that the password is incorrect. What do I do to fix this?

I recently changed my Apple ID online, but I can't find a way to change it on my iPod touch. When I try to purchse an app, the iTouch keeps showing my old ID. However, when I purchase an app online with the new ID, it downloads to my iPod. What do I do to change the ID on the iPod itself?
Have you went to Settings>Store and sign out and sign back in?

Changed my Apple ID email, but ICloud does not recognize my new login, only my old one (which is now non-existent) and requires the password to do anything. Everytime I go onto the ICloud page it shows my old email and requires the password, but I can't exactly type in a password because that won't work. I can't find a way to change my email or delete ICloud.
If the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, do the following:
Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID. If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.) Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID). Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device). -
How do I change the Apple ID that is stored on my MacBook Air. I have changed my Apple ID on the Apple ID website but both my MacBook Air and my iMac show the old Apple ID when accessing iCloud.
I had this problem on my iMac and fixed it after a half hour of frustrated trying. I had changed my Apple ID on my iPad mini while traveling. When I finally got back home after a few months, I couldn't log in to iTunes on my iMac. The old Apple ID was still being used on my iMac. I tried just highlighting it and deleting it and typing in my new Apple ID. No dice. The login just defaulted to my old Apple ID. I tried clicking on the drop down menu that appears when you right right click your Apple ID that appears at the top of the page after highlighting the 'iTunes Store" in the left side list. I saw "account" so I clicked on that. The "account" settings on my iMac showed my new Apple ID but my iMac wouldn't use it. It just kept defaulting to my old ID. I shut down. I logged back in. Same result. Finally I right clicked the same drop down menu and saw "sign out" at the bottom of the list. Even though I was not signed in to iTunes, I clicked "sign out". My next log in to iTunes showed my Apple ID as blank and I was able to type in my new ID. Hope this helps.

With Microsoft, I found that fixing problems was clunky and complex, but there was always a post somewhere that explained the fix. Microsoft's explanations stated even the most obvious fact. Even if everyone knew that the sky was blue, Microsoft's instructions would still tell you that the sky was blue. With Apple, I find that the obvious is sometimes not so obvious. But the fix is almost always easy once you find it, without many of the elaborate maneuvers needed in Windows. -

Exactly! The password I used to log on here and write my post I figured was the same Apple ID password I would use to reset my computer login password. But my computer isn't recognizing it as the correct password so it wont let me update my login password. I have 2 user accounts on my computer.
As far as the link you provided, I already looked to that for help earlier. It states:

I did these steps, but I don't remember my admin password. The question is: How do I reset my admin password so I can reset my log in password.

I recently moved from Winnipeg to Brandon MB, and have changed my email address and attempted to delete the old one. Everytime I go to download or transfer data to my iphone or ipad I hit a wall. The system is asking me for my password to my old email address that dosent exist and I can't remember anyway. How do I get around this wall? I cant figutre it out. I brought a second hand G4 a while ago, which had been wiped clean and had Mac OS X 10.4.3 installed. I just recently wanted to install a demo version of CS2 but it asked me for a password. The problem is I don't know what the password is and I don't have the original installation discs to change it either. So I thought I'd go out and buy "Tiger" and install that, hoping it would get rid of this problem, but when I went to install it, it asked for my password! ARGH!

I changed my apple id online (I got a new email address), but the old one still shows up on my iphone. Each time I try to log in with my password, it won't let me. I keep changing the password, but each time it still gives me the "password is invalid" message. My thought is: it is because it is still showing my original apple id and not the new one.
When I go to apple id on the web page it tells me my apple id is my new email address, so I know it took. Shouldn't it change on my iphone automatically? Can anyone help?@ kttellers, I did this, it didn't help

You are correct I was originally using a different Apple ID when I downloaded my apps, so that sounds like what is causing the problem.
