I have also noticed the same "problem". I do not fully understand the impact of using the same ID on multiple computers and devices if I want to keep them all in sync.

I am trying to setup wireless using my old dome Airport Extreme Base station. I had previously used it about 5 years ago when I had dial up but have now switched to DSL with Windstream. I can not get connected as the ABS keeps trying to dial up(the old phone number). When I tried to change my network settings an annoying popup window says "your network settings have been changed by another application'. I have no idea what the message is all about and when I close this window it immediately pops up again and prevents me -as far as I can tell -from changing my Airport settings? I need advice on how to get this wireless setup done. Maybe a reset? or something else? I have the DSL phone line plugged into WIndsteam Seimens Speedstream 4200 modem and then the ethernet (yellow) wire from the WIndsteam Seimens Speedstream 4200 modem to the port on the dome that is a circle of dots.
1)Can you explain how using the AEBS as a bridge will work with the Seimens Speedstream4200?
As a bridge, the AEBS will basically become a wireless access point. This will allow the AEBS to provide a wireless network, but still allow the Speedstream to provide NAT & DHCP services for the wireless clients connected to the AEBS. If the AEBS was left as a router, you would have a double-NAT condition which isn't necessary bad in itself, but would create a second subnet. That would make it more difficult for clients connected to the AEBS to access clients connected to the Speedstream.
2) Is there a link that will guide me through the steps to set the AEBS as a bridge?
You can easily reconfigure the AEBS as a bridge using the AirPort Utility.
ref: AirPort Utility > Select the AEBS > Manual Setup > Internet > Internet Connection > Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode)
3)Can I just connect the DSL phone line to the AEBS and eliminate the Speedstream4200?
Unfortunately no. The AEBS does not have a built-in DSL modem. You will still need the Speedstream to provide this function. -

The ONLY place that can unlock the iphone is the carrier to which it is locked.

I just wanted to sign in under my old id once to download past purchases then return to my primary id where I have some complete tv seasons I don't want to lose access to as they become available. When I tried, it warned me that I would be unable to use another id to access purchases or autodownload for 90 days! Can I still manually download or does this cut me out of access to my primary id for 3 months. I need clarification before I do anything I regret. Any input would help..
You don't have a copy of your downloads on a backup of your library ? If you log into your old account and redownload its past purchases then you will only be able to use that old account until the 90 days have completed : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627

If you need to change the iCloud ID on your phone, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the new ID. This deletes the account and your iCloud data from your device, but not from iCloud. Provided you are signing back into the same account, your iCloud data will reappear on your device when you sign back in.
To avoid losing photo stream photos, save them to your camera roll (if not already there) before deleting the account. To do this, open your my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll. -

When I sign into or out of Gmail - many other pages automatically refresh. How do I stop this?
I hate automated things, when it's NON consensual and it's part of some automated bullshit trip.
I might have half finished texts on the other open tabs, or what ever, but it's MY bandwidth to chew up on things I see fit, not the people of Mozilla, or Google or whoever.
And while the account page is gmail, that I am signing into or out of, the other pages are NOT google pages either.
I think the designers of the "refresh / automatic refresh" should be shot - because the reason I have a PAGE (tab) open, is because I want to access THAT page, and not a later version of it...
This auto-reload / refresh of some tabs absolutely annoys the piss out of me, because I did not ask for it, and there is NO apparently easy up front way to stop it from happening - which I also think is one of the best way to alienate users of a product - by building in a host of idiot functions with NO control over them.

I think what happens is that you sign in at Gmail, which is a Google+ sign-in these days, and all the other web pages that participate in the Google+ program somehow "sense" that you have just logged into Google+ and reload their page to reflect that you are nowlogged into the Google+ program. Content bought with an Apple ID is forever associated with that Apple ID. Apple will not transfer content from one Apple ID to another and Apple will not merge Apple IDs. Unless you are prepared to forfeit all the previously purchased content and buy it all again with the new Apple ID, you will need to maintain the old ID to update and redownload your content. -

That's correct. The Apple ID associated with content from the iTunes Store and Mac App Store content is stored inside the files and can't be changed without deleting that content.

I went by the Apple Store and they told me that there was a "Flat Rate" repair service for this particular part where they would replace the logic board along with the USB ports for $350. Seems like best avenue. All of this would have been moot but my wifi in the computer also doesn't work so I was using my phone as a hot spot and tethering it to the computer for Internet access when the last port quit. This left me with no internet and no printing capabilities on the computer I use for my business. Basically became a nice paperweight. lol
They will ship it off Monday and I should have it back Thursday!

Cancelled a contract on my Iphone and started another contract with Samsung Note 2 on O2. Managed to transfer almost all my data bar the content of my notes through drag and drop from itune to sKies prior to contract cancellation.
When I later connected the iphone to the laptop to carry out an advise of going into itune to drag and drop the note content into dropbox from where I could pull into the samsung device, I was denied access into itune with my id , the same which has facilitated my access to this chat community.
Question then: Am I not able to use itune again because of the contract cancellation?
