All purchases (and their updates) are forever tied to the ID used when they were bought.  You cannot erase an ID, you simply stop using it.    You will have to allow your son an exclusive account if he wants to use your computer.   Can you log in under your ID now ... or do you have to use his?    If the latter is the case, he has clearly changed your ID to one that is his.

You'd need to check local stores to see what their buy back policy is, but generally, I believe you'll get more if you sell your iPad outright to someone else then use the proceeds towards your new one.

I have 2 accounts and want to delete/remove one.  How do I do this?

Look at Store > Purchased > Apps for each of the accounts in turn.
Media isn't really a problem, but as you've no doubt discovered updating apps from multiple accounts is unnecessarily complicated.

  • HT204053 i had an iphone that i cancelled and now have an ipad, and want to use the old address? Is this out of the question?

My husband has a new ipad and prev had an iphone, how do we use the old apple id

The apple ID can refer to either the iTunes store or iCloud accounts. I'll assume you mean iCloud. Go to Settings>iCloud. Scroll to bottom of page and enter your ID and password for iCloud.

  • I have an ipad and want to buy an ipad mini. Can I transfer everything over?

I have 3 ipads under one apple ID and soon to have a fourth.
I want to rearrage who has what device.
Here is how they are now:
    iPad 3 16m wifi:User 1
    iPad 2 16m wifi:User 2
    iPad 2 16m wifi:User 3
User 4 currently has no ipad.
User 1 is getting a new ipad mini and would like to transfer everything from his iPad3 16m wifi to his new device.
User 1's old iPad 3 16m wifi is going to user 2 who would like to transfer her information from her iPad 2 16m wifi to her iPad 3 16m wifi.
User 2's old iPad 2 16m wifi will be used by user 4.
Is it possible to make this work without losing everyones photos, email, facetime etc.
Note: Each user has thier own Apple ID for Messaging, Facetime, etc. but share ONE for apps.
    Thanks, Marty

If you backup and sync with iTunes, it should be no problem at all.
Each user should transfer purchases, backup and sync with iTunes one last time. I assume that you have all of your own sync settings already set up in iTunes for syncing content to each device, otherwise, each iPad would be identical in content. Just in case, I posted a couple of links that might be helpful for you at the bottom of my post. After you transfer purchases, backup and sync each device one last time, simply restore from the correct backup listed in the backup window, then sync each device after restoring from the backup.
Everything should be in place on each device except for passwords which will have to be entered again on each device. Passwords are backed up, but will only restore to the very same device when restoring from a backup, and will not restore to a new device.
The links that Kappy provided in his post are very informative and should be of help to you. Here are two links that describe backing up, restoring from a backup and transferring purchases.

These may come in handy for setting up sync settings in iTunes 11, if you haven't down that yet.

If you are unfamiliar with iTunes 11, it helps to see the sidebar on the left side, so if needed, enable it by going to View>Show Sidebar from the iTunes menu at the top of the screen.

  • I have an ipad, and want into replace my laptop with it. Is there a way of running iTunes from my ipad to allow me to put music onto my old ipad classic without the need for a computer.

Please help me on this issue. I have the latest full size ipad with retina display and want to replace my old hp laptop with it. I currently run an iPod classic and nano from the iTunes on it, but i want to run them off my ipad. Is this possible.

The iPad is not a computer, it cannot replace one, and it cannot sync music or media to other devices.
You need to keep a computer around if you want  to sync ther Classic and Nano. It may also be useful if you ever need to backup the iPad in case a restore is necessarry.

  • I have an iPad and want to know how to delete email addresses for those that I have sent email to.

I have an iPad 2 and want to know how to delete email addresses for those that I have sent mail to.

Email addresses that are not in your Contacts app but which still show up in Mail will disappear after a period of time when they are unused. Just ignore them and they will eventually go away.

  • I have two iPads and want to change ID's

how can I swap ID's from two iPad's?

To keep the data and settings, back up each device manually by right clicking on it in the device list and choosing "backup", then restore each one using the backup from the other device.
If you just want to change the Apple ID, go to Settings/Store/Apple ID, log out, restart the device and log in again with the second Apple ID. Apps and other media bought with a different ID will be erased during the following sync.

  • I have upgraded iPads and my husband uses my old one, how do I change the info so updates etc work in his name

I have  upgraded to a new ipad 2, my husband has taken over my old ipad I have set up a Apple ID for him etc, how is link the old ipad to his id so my updates no longer show up on his ipad and it is his identity not mine.

Maybe I am misunderstanding what you mean by "save his programs". If they are apps that you bought with your ID, they really aren't his apps. If they are apps that he bought with his own ID, he can download them again for free as long as he uses the same Apple ID.
You cannot transfer purchases from one Apple ID to another ID. Any apps that you bought on the iPad with your ID will have to be updated by using your Apple ID and password. If he bought apps with his own ID, he needs to use his ID and password in order to update those apps.
What I am saying is that you should have erased the iPad before he started using it with his own ID. If he wants to use apps that you purchased because he doesn't want to have to pay for them again, then he will just have to juggle the two ID's.
Know that if he switches to your ID in order to download a past purchase, he will lock himself out of his own ID for 90 days. You should take a look at this.

Perhaps you should clarify who bought the apps and describe exactly what you are trying to do.

  • I have multiple iphones and want to use find my iphone how do I track more than 1 phone

How do I set up multiple iPhones on 1 account for "find my iPhone"?

Find My iPhone is tied to the iCloud account that each device is using.  You can track all your phones without sharing the same iCloud account by going to icloud.com, signing into the account that the phone you want to track is using, and clicking Find My iPhone.  This can also be done from your phone by using the Find My iPhone app (available in the App store).
Of course, you could track them all using a single ID if you were willing to share the iCloud account across all the phones.  However, there are significant disadvantages to doing this.  They would all share the same 5GB of free iCloud storage, the same iCloud email account, the same photo stream, and all the synced data (contacts, calendars, notes, reminders, etc.) would be merged across all of the phones.  If they belong to different people, you would end up with each other's data on your phones.
