Anything Downloaded with a Particular Apple ID is tied to that Apple ID and Cannot be Merged or Transferred to a Different Apple ID.

The only way to do what you want is to log into your wife's iTunes Store account on your iPad. Doing this will lock you out of your account for 90 days.

I recently bought a new ipod nano and when i got it home and connected it to my computer I was told my version of i-tunes was not compatable and I had to un-install it and then download it again. After I did this 4 times i eventually managed to get itunes to open on my computer and recognise my new ipod. However after all that hassle my version of itunes now wont recognise any of the music that has already been downloaded onto my computers music files. I have tried copying the music across and also using the add music to the itunes library command and nothing seems to work! I really like the ipod but if i had known that itunes was this difficult to work i would have picked a different type of music player! since i have bought the ipod ive heard nothing but bad things about how difficult and complicated itunes is to work so if anyone has any ideas for how i can fix this problem thatd be great! What do you mean by you can add music to your Shuffle from your account? Is the music in your iTunes library? Is it configured to sync to your Shuffle?

New PC and just downloaded iTunes, but it won't recognise the music that was already on my iPod. How do I get my music to show up in my library please?

I had to change my PC and obviously had to download iTunes again and authorise teh new PC.
When I connected my iPod Touch though it would not show any of my music in my library and the only place it ca b be seen is in the my ipod and on the "on this iPod" which is not much use if I want tp add to play lists etc that were already set up.
If possible I would like to have the music on my ipod show up in my library as it is now not even on my new PC as a back up as it it usually backs the iPod up, but with nothing showing up in the library now of course ther is noting to back up!
If someone could help an old git I would be grateful

The Touch Copy third party software for PC's is the way to go it seems and although the demo is free, if you have over 100 songs then it costs £15 to buy the software which seems not a lot to pay for peace of mind. and restoring your iTunes library back to how it was.

If all of these missing podcasts are still in iTunes, simply reconfigure them to sync to your iPod via the iPod's Podcast configuration pane in iTunes. To access this tab, plug your iPod in and click on it from under Devices in the left hand pane. Over to the right, in the main window pane of iTunes, look for the Podcasts tab along the top and select it.
Here you can configure how and what podcasts are synced to your device. If you do happen to make any changes from under this tab, be sure to hit the Apply button in the lower right hand corner to sync the update changes to your iPod Classic.
