every time i save my credit card info in my account on ITunes, it shows as saved and as soon as I go to buy something, it says I have no credit card on file and starts over again.
I don't mind having my card info on there but now I can't download anything and it's frustrating. All it ask for is the card security number and when I put it in it says it's invalid. So now while I'm trying to delete it, it just won't let me. The visa part stays checked all the time and I can't unmarked it. I tried to just erase the card number and security code and stuff but it says I have to have it filled in. Do you know how I can check to see if it says I owe money?

i just bought a mac and deauthorized all other computers to activate this one, i wanted to know can you have apps on the mac like your phone or a shortcut icon for youtube or facebook, it wont let me get in to the apps this may be a bad question but are the apps even needed for the mac pro or just for the iphone. i would like a short cute instead of having to go to safari and put the web address in every time i want to go on face book . please help thank you
The apps that you have on your iPhone will only work on iOS devices i.e. an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch - your Mac uses a different operating system, OS X. You can get some apps/programs for your Mac e.g. you should have a Mac App Store icon, possibly on the dock at the bottom of the screen, and/or in the Applications folder :
If you are using Safari to access Facebook or other sites then you should be able to add bookmarks for them to itvia the Bookmarks menu at the top of Safari (command-D is the keyboard shortcut for adding a bookmark). If you are using a different browser, then again you should be able to bookmarks for your favourite sites. -
We are using a Sony HDV-Z7U camera for acquisition. We recently recorded an event using the camera's non HD capabilities. We set the camera to record "DV SP" 16x9 settings on both Mini-DV tape and CF card.
To import the DV SP footage into FCP7 we chose the "DV NTSC anamorphic" setting in the log and transfer settings window. After a successful transfer from the CF card (the CF card held approximately 83 minutes) we checked the size of the file and found it to be 16 Gigs! Why so big? An 83 miniDV tape shot in SD should easily fit on a standard 4.7 gig MPEG2 DVD.
We need to burn DVDs of this show - we sent it to compressor and got horrible quality.

No it doesn't. DV is 13GB per hour.
In any case, a Video DVD uses the MPEG 2 codec, not DV.

Use the Compressor DVD preset "Best Quality 90 mins".

Not going to happen, you are compressing by a factor of 1:4. Shooting as HDV would have given you better quality material to start with. DV is at the bottom end of the scale. -

No, you should have Restrictions OFF.
Computer's iTunes > Preferences > Parental Preferences > everything should be unchecked.

ITunes U videos not on iPod touch - any advice?

One of the big reasons I got the iPod touch is to watch videos from iTunes U. They are in my iTunes in the library under Movies (latest version of iTunes), but not on my iPod touch. I synced everything, so it should be there. The specific course I'm looking at (but I'd like many more) is Linear Algebra 18.06 from MIT, if that helps. Here's the info on a typical file:

Bit rate: 74kbps
Profile: Low complexity
Total bit rate: 294 kbps
Video dimensions: 320x240
Video Codec: MPEG-4
Any advice is most appreciated.

I had the same problem when I tried to watch iTunes U videos. Find the video you want in your iTunes library, click on it and then click on "covert for iPod iPhone" in the advanced menu. Converting will take a few minutes, and when it's done you will see 2 copies in your library. The 2nd one is the one that will play on the IPT, so synch that one. You can delete the first one off the library if you want, and the iopd friendly version will stay on. I don't know why they did this, but I found that some videos play fine and others don't without converting first. Hope this works out for you!

I am trying to make a purchase and want to use my Apple ID Balance and NOT charge the debit card under my account info. How do I do this?
As far as I'm aware iTunes always charges the account balance first and when this expires charges any remaining amount to your credit/debit card. The one exception I am aware of (though there could be others) is that Apps purchased from the Canadian store must always be charged to a card rather than a gift card voucher balance due to local legislation.

Computer AND iTunes don't recognize my iPod touch. Comp thinks it is a camera or something. iTunes won't bring up devices at all. I've already uninstalled iTunes and QT and reinstalled after problem that happened when I updated iTunes - updated iTunes completely demolished my computer's ability to recognize the sound card and computer had NO sound at all. I had to uninstall iTunes, QT, AND my sound card and reinstall them all. Sound worked fine, but now I can't sync my iPod. Computer recognizes that "something" is hooked up (thinks it might possibly be a camera) and I get that "open with" window. In "my computer" it shows that there is an "iPod" connected, but it is pictured as a camera. In iTunes my username is no longer appearing (although account info is there) and NO devices whatsoever get listed. There is nothing wrong with my USB ports or cable. And of course Apple won't help anyone unless you pay them to. ... I am getting beyond P/Oed!!! You pay hundreds for a product and all you get are headaches with their stupid bug infested software and no support at all.
Can anyone out there help me clean up this unbelievable mess Apple and iTunes has created in my computer?

EvieAfter three completely wasted days trying to figure all of this out I finally got it fixed - on my own - by reading dozens and dozens of rogue posts in indie forums from people that refuse to dish out money to have a company TRY and advise possible fixes on their own glitches.
(here's a novel idea - fix the glitches Apple. Or - don't send out updates filled with bugs in the first place)
Everything (several applications) had to be uninstalled in a very specific order and then restarted , then it all had to be verified with manual deletions of leftovers, and emptying the recycle bin, then another restart, then iT had to be reinstalled again and the system restarted again, and two more update downloads. Holy!!!
I love my little iPod touch, but I honestly must say, when this kind of thing happens (and it has several times now when I try to deal with iTunes or Apple), it makes me want to flush it down the toilet. -
