HT204053 I want to change the Apple ID on my iPad
When I first received my iPad as a gift I'd never had an Apple before so I used my hotmail account. Now I want to use the same Apple ID I use on my iPhone but there doesn't seem to be a way to change the Apple ID on my iPad. Can someone explain how to do this?
To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPad, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.

You can change everything, but it will be frusturating at first. I got my open-box iPad from sams club and it was still associated with some one elses Apple ID.
Go into Settings ----> App store ----> Apple ID
It should change alot. But then you have to change Mail, FaceTime, Messages, Etc.
You could just erase all settings and data and that would give you a much cleaner resualt. -

How can I change the Aplle ID associated with my iPhone so that it's the same one used for my iPad and desktop?
When I go to settings and iCloud in the iPhone, the apple ID that appears is greyed-out and will not let me click on it to change it.
Any suggestions?To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the other ID. When you delete the account it will prompt you about what to do with the iCloud data. If you need to migrate it and merge it with the data in the new account choose Keep on My iDevice; then choose Merge to upload the data and merge it with the new account. If your data is already in the other account and you don't need to migrate it to the other account, choose Delete from My iDevice.

I have a 17" Mac Book Pro and a 13" Mac Book Pro...both use the same Apple ID. My wife uses the 13" and now wants to change the Apple ID on the 13" to her Apple ID. How do I do this and not loose the information on that computer?

if you just want to change the apple id sign out in settings>icloud, settings>messages>send and recieve, settings>facetime, and settings>itunes and app store. Then sign into all of these locations with new apple id. ONLY PROBLEM WHEN DOING THIS WAY is when apps left on device from your apple id need updated they will require your apple id and password -

For many years my Apple ID was associated with my work email address. I recently retired and want to change the Apple ID associated with my phone to my personal ID (which I use with my iPad, home PC, etc.). However, I have forgotten the old password associated with my old ID, and since I no longer have access to my previous email account, I can not request a change of password email as it will be sent to my old email account which no longer exists. How can I delete the old ID and install the personal ID ?

Go to Settings>General>Restrictions and see if the Restriction that prevents changing accounts is set. I faso, unset it.

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")

Settings->iTunes and App Stores->Apple ID->Sign Out Sign in with another Apple ID.
However all Apps purchased with the previous ID will be forever tied to it and will always require it to update.
So if you plan on changing owners its better to wipe the iPad clean, and let the new owner set it up from scratch.
Settings->General->Reset->Erase All Content and Settings will put the iPad back to the way it was when it was first taken out of the box. -

Need to change the Apple ID programmed into my iPhone
The simplest way to change the ID is to go to Settings > App Store
Tap your Apple ID. Sign in with the current ID, then sign out
Now, sign in with the new ID
Please be advised however that all apps purchased under the previous ID will forever be tied to that ID. This means you will either want to re-download the free apps you had under the old ID and re-buy the apps you purchased, or you will need to sign out every time there is an update on apps you have and sign in under the old ID to update those apps. -

If you bought the phone and the Activation lock is still active, you can't do anything with the phone without the correct AppleID and password from the previous owner.
Only the previous owner can unlock it again to be set up by you again. Check these articles about it:
