HT204053 I want to set up my own icloud account as I share one
my son and I share the same apple ID, I and trying to 'download find my Iphone 'for him but it keeps seeing my phone... i have set up my own apple ID and I now have to set up my own Icloud how can we both have apple id and icloud.
If you are getting a message saying insufficient storage when you attempt to update to iOS 7 it's referring to insufficient space on your device, not in your iCloud account. You'll have to remove some data, at least temporarily, in order to update (such as syncing all your music off your device, then syncing it back on after updating).
Accessing your iTunes library in iCloud requires a subscription to iTunes Match (see http://www.apple.com/itunes/itunes-match/). Music purchased from the iTunes store is already in iCloud and can be redownloaded at any time (in many countries). This does not use your iCloud account; it is stored and redownloaded from the iTunes store.
You can migrate your kids' devices to separate iCloud accounts if you wish by going to Settings>iCloud, tapping Delete Account (which only deletes it from their device, not from iCloud), then signing back in with a separate Apple ID to create their new account. They can continue to share the same iTunes ID, it does not need to be the same as their iCloud ID.

My daughter and I have separate iCloud accounts set up on out desktop PCs and our iPhones and iPads. We want to share the usage of a Win 8 laptop and will log in using using separate user accounts. Is it possible to set up our own iCloud accounts in each of those separate user accounts?
No it is not possible. Content purchased from the iTunes Store is permanently tied to the account from which it was originally purchased, and Apple does not provide a way to change it.

My daughter received an I phone for Christmas and we set it up using my iTunes account. She just received an iPad and wants to set up her own iTunes account. How do we do that without losing all of her content that she added to my iTunes account. I have home sharing on my account.
Welcome to the Apple Community.
If she creates her own iTunes account she can't use any protected content purchased under another account. She can play unprotected content synced from an iTunes library on a computer, but she can only download content from the cloud that is purchased under her account.
It's a pain I know, but the longer you put off the move, the worse the situation will become. -
we have 5 devices on one itunes account how do I give them each their own icloud account and still share the itunes account?
You need a unique AppleID for each iCloud account. So grab some free gmail, hotmail, aol, yahoo or whatever email addresses to make five new AppleIDs. Now, everybody make an iCloud account for themselves, and keep the existing shared AppleID and password just for use in the iTunes and App Stores. You can also each use your own unique AppleIDs to make iMessage accounts and keep those separate as well.

I inherited an appletv and now want to set up my own billing, how do I do this?
I inherited an AppleTV and now want to set up my own account and billing. How do I do this?
You would need to setup an Apple ID, if you don't already have one. If the Apple TV is already connected to an account, go into settings and do a reset.

My iPhone and iPad are on my moms icloud account and i just got a macbook air and i want all my devices on my own iCloud account - i went to all of my settings and it won't let me change my iCloud account on my phone and iPad. can i change this?
You will have to do more than simply changing settings in your moms account. To set up everything in your own account, go to Settings > iCloud > scroll down and press sign out. From this, check out this link for how to setup iCloud on all of your devices after making a new icloud account on your phone: https://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/
Before you set that up, you will have to make a new iCould account which you can simply do after you sign out of your mom's account on your devices.
Hope I can help! -
I just bought a macbook pro and want to use my own iCloud account for my iPhone. How do I sign off of the current account on my iPhone and sign in with my own iCloud account i set up my mac?
On your phone, Go to "Settings", "iCloud", scroll to the bottom and "sign out." Assuming you have the the account password/security info of the current account, it will delete everything iCloud related upon your approval (don't worry, everything will remain in the cloud.) Once signed out, in the same settings location (under "Settings", "iCloud") sign in using your Apple ID and Password.
Hope this helps. -
My Ipod was originally set up as a sub-account of a firends. After that, I got an Iphone and set up my own Apple account. I just got a new Ipod, and now can't sync my old Itunes to it. Can anyone help me? I'm even OK with deleting the old Itunes account, and staring over. I just really want to get the new Ipod under my own account, and be able to use it...
There is no such thing as a "sub-account." Also, you probably mean iTunes library, when you say "account." Your "account" in iTunes is your Apple ID, which is what you use to sign in to the iTunes Store to make purchases. iPods are associated with an iTunes library, not with an Apple ID (iTunes Store account). You'll need to clarify...
So, this is what I think you are saying. You previously shared an iTunes library on a computer with your friend. Your old iPod was synced to that iTunes library.
You got an iPhone, and at that time, you set up your own iTunes library. Is that on a different computer? How does the iPhone affect your question about the iPod?
You got a new iPod. What is your "old iTunes"? Is that the iTunes library you shared with your friend? -
How do I setup my own iCloud account? I used my wife's but I don't want all the info she has. It appears I need to delete the iCloud first? This is for my new 4S
Go into settings, and there should be a tab named icloud. Click on that and sign in with which ever account you used. Now scroll down and click delete account. Then go back into setting, icloud and type all info for new account.

Hi, I need to take my daughter off from our Apple account and set up her own. So, delete her from one account and create her own. Realize I sound imbecilic for not knowing how to do this. Any ideas? Thank you so much. Jules
You don't have to take her off your account exactly: she needs to sign out from your account on her computers and devices. Then she can obtain an Apple ID at http://appleid.apple.com and use it to sign into System Preferences or Settings>iCloud.
However, there are some issue about this. If she has been syncing her calendars and contacts to your account then the data will disappear from her devices, but remain on your account. Individual calendars can be exported as .ics files and reimported into her account, but if she has her contacts mixed up with yours she will have to enter them individually in the new account (or export yours, import them into hers, and delete the ones she doesn't want.
More intractable is the email issue. She cannot move an address from your account to hers, so if she has been using a alias on your account to have her own address she cannot transfer it. She will have to create a new email address. -
I have put my daughter's iphone under my apple id, as after i entered the payment info there was a message saying she wasn't allowed an account (too young) how do i set up her own email account etc
You have to be 13yrs. of age or older to have an iTunes account. So, if you want your daughter to have her own account, what you need to do is create another Apple ID for yourself. You can create one here:
https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/wa/createAppleId
Must be a verified email address...you can get a free Gmail account first. Then, when setting up the iTunes account, redeem an itunes gift card rather than using a credit card. That way, she'll have her own account, which you can monitor, but its not associated with any credit card. -
I have applied the icloud on my sisters id accidently. How can I no w remove this information and set up my own Icloud on another computer with out loosing either of our information from the phone.
Please read before going through with this procedure.
If you really want your contact back and you did not do another iCloud backap since you deleted some of your contacts, you can do a hard reboot on both devices with iClouded contacts by holding down the home and lock buttons on each of them for 10 seconds ignoring the slide to turn off thing. Make sure you have iCloud contact services off before doing so. You can then go through the whole set up process until you get up to the backup part. You then press to restore from an iCloud backup (make sure you choose the right backup for the right phone). If you didn't make an iCloud backup before the contact incident, you will have to use your two-month-old iTunes backups. Each phone should have their contacts the way they were from your last backup. You then go into Settings>iCloud>and turn off contacts. You then can choose if you want to keep your current contacts or not. Turn this off on both phones just incase you add another iCloud device to the mix later on. Now your contact lists are no longer linked (Caution: side effect may include lack of edit button). You may now add and delete contacts as you please without it happening on your other phone.
Thank you for choosing Apple. -
I have multiple phones and iPads and all are linked to one iCloud account and one iTunes Account. I want to keep the same iTunes Account so I can share music, etc., however, I want each device to have its own iCloud account. Any help on how I can I do this?
You'll need to create an Apple ID for each device. Use the new Apple ID for FaceTime, iMessage and iCloud on the device. Use the original Apple ID for Settings>iTunes & App Store.

Need help setting up 3 different iCloud accounts for my kids (so each has own iMessanger)using same Apple ID (mine) ....they don't have their own separate email addresses to work from...how do I do this?
Any devices connected to the same icloud account can sync all the data on that account. For this reason an icloud account is really for a single user.
On a mac, if each user has their own account, then the itunes for that mac account should be set up to connect to that user's icloud account (System preferences>icloud).
