HT204053 iCloud seems to have my least preferred Apple ID

I am trying to access iCloud on my Mac but it appears that I have inadvertently established two different apple ID's. Is there a way to access iCloud, specifically contacts, using my preferred ID instead of the erroneous one?

Not easily, these are 2 different accounts. You could sign into one and add the other as a secondary account though.

I seem to have at least 3 apple IDs Can I merge them into 1?

As said, you cannot merge accounts, nor transfer addresses from one account to another. You can add additional iCloud accounts to your Mac in System Preferences>Mail, Contacts and Calendars where they will appear alongside the main account. (Also on an iOS device in Settings><Mail, Contacts & Calendars).

  • I seem to have at least two, and maybe four, iCloud accounts, across my iPhone, my iPad and my MacBook Pro. Can I combine them into one iCloud account?

I seem to have at least two, and maybe four, iCloud accounts, across my iPhone, my iPad and my MacBook Pro. Can I combine them into one iCloud account? I have been able to log into what appears to be three of the four iCloud accounts I have. Two of them seem to be remarkably similar, and one appears to be only for my MacBook.I think I know which one my iPhone is backing up to, as I successfully restored from a back-up last week. The fourth iCloud account I can't access via password or security questions. Any advice would be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

    You cannot merge accounts.

  • I seem to have more than one apple ID. How can I get rid of old ones?

I seem to have more than one apple I D. Apple keep rejecting my password so I create new one. iPhone still seemd to use original ID. Apps get attached to old IDs. Can't log into game centre on old ID or use my nickname. Says its already in use! By me!

Roger.  Can you drop in to HT4436 Multiple iCloud accounts on OS X: Apple Support Communities and see if you can help the OP?  Thanks,

  • HT204053 Why  do i have to use my apple account on itunes before i can download any app on my iphone 4

i try to download free spotify app it says my apple ID has not been use on itunes

It means you probably haven't entered your credit card information for your account yet.  If you want to get free apps without doing this you have to create an Apple ID without a credit card by following this guide exactly: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2534.  Note: you start by downloading and installing any free app, then create the ID.

  • HT204053 I seem to have forgotten my iCloud password, how can I change it?

How can I retrieve or change my password for iCloud?

Go to http://iforgot.apple.com and sign in with your iCloud login. A new password will be sent to your associated email address. If this doesn't work you will have to contact Support. Go to https://getsupport.apple.com; click' See all products and services', then 'More Products and Services, then 'Apple ID', then 'Other Apple ID Topics' then 'Lost or forgotten Apple ID password'.

  • ICloud seemed to have lost some old back up-went from a iPhone4 to a 3GS (temporary) back to a iPhone4

    Hi guys
Hope someone can help me here- I broke my iPhone4 at Xmas and found as it was out of warranty I had to buy a replacement for £119
    -fair enough!
So whilst not being able to afford this being January the worst month for self employment I borrowed a mates old 3GS and when I did a backup it had all my contacts (good!) but no music, apps, photos, ringtones etc. if I wanted an app or music album that I already own I can download for free- a bit annoying I know.. But my main concern was the photos and even previous text conversations which I didn't buy but I would want back. I PUT THIS DOWN TO IT BEING A DOWNGRADE TO A 3GS AND HOPED WHEN I BUY MY NEW iPhone4 THIS WOULD BE SORTED?????
So today I buy my new iPhone and restore from iCloud and I had the option of restoring from December before I broke my old iPhone4 or my backup which I did today before I switched back from the 3GS- obviously I chose the newest one so to not lose 2months of data... However this has completely the same as what I had this morning on the 3GS excluding all my old photos, texts, music etc.
Hope someone can help and sorry if I've babbelled on a bit here but I've found it hard to explain and could not find an existing thread.
    Many thanks- dan

Does the library open and there are no photos in it?  If so, iPhoto may have just created a new library after encountering a problem with the original one. You can check by holding down the option key when launching iPhoto. If there is more than one library, check each one for the missing images. (You may also want to check the Pictures folder and the trash for any other libraries)
If you are sure the library that you are opening is the original and should contain the photos, check the file size of the library. If it's in the GBs than chances are rebuilding the library will recover them (Hold command and option while opening iPhoto, then select the option from the menu)

  • Our family has multiple products from IPods, IPads, IMac, and Apple TV. However, we made a mistake when registering them so that we seem to have at least two different ITunes accounts. How do I combine them or reset the accounts to make them one?

Over the years we have purchased multiple products from IPods, IPads, to IMacs. Unfortunately, along the way, we accidentally created more than one ITunes accounts so that we can only access some songs etc on certain devices and not on others. How do we reset our devices to create one account or transfer our music to one account?

You don't. You cannot combine iTunes accounts at this time. Pick the one that you want to use and stick to that one account for all the purchases.

  • The iCloud seems to have the wrong credit card info on my mac

On my Mac Pro, I go to iCloud Preferences to try to change an old credit card reference.
Account details gives four choices, the last is "Payment". But the card it shows is obsolete. It has been changed. That account is no longer valid.
iCloud help says to press the "Manage" button, but all that does is give me options for buying more cloud storage.
The old credit card is in a box with zero options to interact with it.
So where in my account do I actually get to update credit card info?

Thanks. I guess Apple has some pages to clean up. Their instructions are obsolete and their records aren't kept up to date. Confusing, that.

  • I seem to have a lot of Apple IDs. Is there a way to get a list of them and kill them all off until there is just one left?

I can't get on the icloud because my Apple ID is a birthday, password and email that are not mine. How do I fix this?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple ID.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

  • It seems I have multiple Apple IDs.

It seems I have somehow gotten multiple Apple IDs. and I only have one Apple product. one is the original ID that is attached to an old email address. Well that acct keeps shutting down my icloud email. and I can't get back to it because the email acct is no longer active. How do I get back to one ID? all I can find is how to reset the password and that won't work because I can't access the old acct.
    thanks Barney

You can try going to http://appleid.apple.com to edit your information.

  • HT4759 can't download icloud my system only seems to have mobileme dose this mean my mac is to old

I only have mobile me on my mac dose this mean it is to old for icloud

Please always post your operating system when you have a question.
The minimum requirement for iCloud is Lion 10.7.5 (Mavericks preferred): the iCloud Preference Pane does not appear on earlier systems - the MobileMe pane appears on Lion and earlier but is non non-functional - you cannot now open or access a MobileMe account.
To make use of iCloud you will have to upgrade your Mac to Lion or Mavericks, provided it meets the requirements.
    The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
Lion is available in the Online Apple Store ($19.99). Mountain Lion (10.8.x) is also available there at the same price but there seems little point as the system requirements are the same for Mavericks (10.9.x) - which is free - unless you need to run specific software which will run on Mountain Lion only.
The requirements for Mountain Lion and Mavericks are:
    OS X v10.6.8 or later
    2GB of memory
    8GB of available space
      and the supported models are:
    iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
It is available from the Mac App Store (in Applications).
You should be aware that PPC programs (such as AppleWorks) will not run on Lion or above; and some other applications may not be compatible - there is a useful compatibility checklist at http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
If you are running Leopard on an Intel Mac you will have to upgrade to Snow Leopard to access the Mac App Store - it's available in the online Apple Store. However if you have a PPC Mac you cannot run Snow Leopard and cannot proceed further.

Instead of removing the music from the cloud or the iTunes library why not shuffle your music using a Smart Playlist which excludes the holiday music, or tracks that are not checked. For example, use this very simple Smart Playlist:
