each time i even try to turn on the automatically download music purchases made on other devices it says the same message which is that i cannot associate this device with another apple id for 90 days. ive used this apple id for numerous devices of mine and now for some reason it wont let me for my dads old iphone i currently am useing. please help asap!! thx

A device becomes "associated" with an Apple ID when you turn on automatic downloads, iTunes Match, or download past purchases with the ID. Once this association is made, the device can't be associated with a different ID for 90 days. Even though this is your ID, the phone has already been associated with a different ID. You can't turn on automatic downloads with your ID on this phone for 90 days. You'll have to download the purchased apps, music and other media to your iTunes library and sync it to the phone until this 90 day period has expired and you can associate it with your ID.

Most of the people on these forums, including myself, are fellow users - you're not talking to iTunes Support here, we won't know why.
What happens when you try to buy something, does the 'buy' button not work, do you get any error messages ... ?

While this thread (mostly because of me) now somewhat conflates purchases made on a computer via the iTunes Store and purchases made from the iTunes Store via an AppleTV, I am referring to AppleTV purchases, and I stand by my assertion.
My point was - and I'll state it again more clearly - is that the entire purpose of the AppleTV product is that you do NOT store your purchases separately, that they are available for STREAMING at your whim. Apple does not need to explicitly state this. It is inherent in the product they sell. AppleTV is a media streaming product. And, in fact, their own press supports my assertion:

Apple specficially states the movies can be "downloaded again at any time" -- and "no hard drive required". This online storage is not a "separate bonus" -- it is part of the deal. It is a separate matter (and irrelevant to my point) whether one can TRUST Apple to always be there providing that streaming service or whether it would be prudent to back-up any movies one downloads.
My point was how the product AppleTV is supposed to function.

I just downloaded iTunes 10.4 and now I cannot download trailers or other content from the iTunes Store

I just downloaded and installed iTunes 10.4 and now when I go to the iTunes Store, none of the bubbles are working to download content, like movie trailers, free downloads etc. This is not the first time this has happened. How do we fix this?

You chose to set up your iphone from your daughters backup.
The iphone is designed to be synced with your computer regularly. You should have set up syncing from day one.

Bypass & Reset the iPhone Passcode
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, leave the other end connected to your Mac/PC
Launch iTunes
Press and hold the Home and Power button on the top of the iPhone to turn off the device
Press and continue to hold the Home button while you reconnect the USB cable to your iPhone, this will cause the iPhone to turn on
Continue to hold the Home button until an alert message in iTunes appears that an iPhone in recovery mode has been detected
Now that the iPhone is in recovery mode, you must restore the device:
From iTunes, look under the “Summary” tab
Click on the “Restore” button within iTunes

You copy them from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer.
The iphone is not a backup/storage device.

Everytime I purchase using iTunes on my home computer it asks me to verify my c/card, and states "Your Apple ID, ..., was just used to purchase ... from the iTunes Store on a computer or device that had not previously been associated with that Apple ID.

When i use my laptop to make an iTunes store purchase, it always asks me to verify my account details by entering my credit card verification number. I'm having a similar problem. I had previously (over a year ago) purchased 2 episodes of Law & Order. Then about 2 months ago, I purchased the 3rd season of Sons of Anarchy. 2) When I upgraded my iPhone 3gs, to the latest version 5.0.1 (9A405), is when I noticed that i couldn’t update my applications. There are two names/accounts on the phone and prior to the update there was just the one. I have tried entering every conceivable password that I have ever used and get the incorrect password error every time. The apps on the iPhone are apparently associated with several/different accounts. I just want to get everything back to the way it was. One id and one password with purchases associated with just one account that can be updated on my computer as well as my iPhone.

Trying to update apps but keep getting message that my Apple ID can't be used to purchase from the iTunes store but it works on my iPhone & computer?

OS is 5.1.1 but it says no updates available. I've had the iPod for a few years but if I remember right it's 3rd Gen. Model #MC011C. I have no problems purchasing or updating apps on my iPhone, and I went to iTunes in my computer and purchased a song just to see if I could, and didn't have any problem. And I have tons of memory left on the iPod.

I went to the App Store app and selected "Updates" along the bottom menu. It said 11 updates were available. I then chose "Update All." Before any updates could begin, the message popped up that "This Apple ID cannot be used to make purchases from the iTunes Store." That popped up twice, then the same message with, "Please enter another Apple ID" added. I tried 3 separate times (getting all 3 pop-up messages each time). I then tried updating apps via the App store app on my iPhone 4 and it worked fine. Then I signed into the iTunes store on my computer and bought a song (thankfully one I like ) and that worked fine. I tried on my iPod one more time before finally coming here to post a question.
A few minutes after posting my question (and the reason I came back here, not knowing I'd received an answer) I thought I'd try one more time. This time, it worked with no problem and all the apps updated. So I don't know if somehow my purchasing something in iTunes on my computer helped, or creating this community ID did, or if it was just some temporary glitch. Whatever it was, it's working now. Hopefully it doesn't happen again.

You should only make purchases for all your devices using a single Apple ID. There is no need, and indeed a good reason not to, set up a new Apple ID with each new device purchase. While items purchased under different IDs can be played on a single device, you cannot merge Apple IDs and it makes it cumbersome.
Apple IDs do not expire but may become dormant and require reactivation if they are not actively used.
You should make note of your Apple ID and passwords and keep a record of it. Like a bank account it contains access to items with value. Update your Apple ID email address as they change.
I see you were guided to this forum by a help page on recovering your password. If that is not sufficient try the links below. Apple will need to verify you are indeed to owner of the accounts to which you are trying to gain access.

Missing "message" from above: The iPad "DGMTR" is synced with another iTunes library on DGMTR's MacBook Pro. Do you want to erase this iPad and sync with this iTunes library? An iPad can be synched with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iTunes library.
I thought the libraries were the same.
