trying to set up my sisters imac do do back-up on cloud. Under system preferences there is no icloud icloud icon- only wireless etc. Where/how do i turn on the icloud icon

Please always give your operating system when you have a question. It rather sounds as if you have Snow Leopard or earlier. The minimum requirement for iCloud is Lion 10.7.5 (Mavericks preferred): the iCloud Preference Pane does not appear on earlier systems - the MobileMe pane appears on Lion and earlier but is now non-functional - you cannot now open or access a MobileMe account.
To make use of iCloud you will have to upgrade your Mac to Lion or Mavericks, provided it meets the requirements.
The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
2GB of memory
OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
7GB of available space
Lion is available in the Online Apple Store ($19.99). Mountain Lion (10.8.x) is also available there at the same price (though it's reported to have been removed from sale in some countries so may well cease to be available generally) but there seems little point as the system requirements are the same for Mavericks (10.9.x) - which is free - unless you need to run specific software which will run on Mountain Lion only.
The requirements for Mountain Lion and Mavericks are:
OS X v10.6.8 or later
2GB of memory
8GB of available space
  and the supported models are:
iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
Xserve (Early 2009)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
It is available from the Mac App Store (in Applications).
You should be aware that PPC programs (such as AppleWorks) will not run on Lion or above; and some other applications may not be compatible - there is a useful compatibility checklist at http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
If you are running Leopard on an Intel Mac you will have to upgrade to Snow Leopard to access the Mac App Store - it's available in the online Apple Store. However if you have a PPC Mac you cannot run Snow Leopard and cannot proceed further.

OK, for the third time writing this this session, after setting up iCloud on my IPMini, how do I access the clod to use the iWork apps?

Note that you can not log into iCloud.com through the browser on an iOS device, only from a computer. If you want to use the iWork apps on your iOS device, you will need to purchase the apps from the app store if you don't qualify to get them for free.

I have installed the latest version of Apple but still can't see ICloud in System Preferences- how can I fix this?

Lion is required to see the iCloud Preference Pane: this is an upgrade, not an update, and has to be paid for. If you want to install Lion, go to the Mac App Store and purchase and download it there ($29.99).
First check that your Mac meets the requirements for Lion:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)

Still have MobileMe icon (not iCloud) on my System Preferences, how can I install iCloud on Macbook pro when directions say to click on iCloud icon in System Pref. ?

Read the system requirements for iCloud.  It is not compatible with Snow Leopard which your system profile confirms you have.

i just purchased the new iMac and it doesn't have a cd drive, how do i install cs6
can someone please tell me how to install cs6
I have the disk but no drive oops

I had the same situation. I have an external disk burner which also acts as a CD/DVD/BlueRay Drive/burner.
Having access to an external drive will solve the problem. As long as it has a USB cable you should be able
to plug it into your iMac, spot the disk icon on your desktop and insert the installer disks and load the software.
    Hope that helps.

  • HT204053 Despite setting up iCloud on my iPhone and iPad can't access all Contacts

Why am I unable to access contacts in my iPad from my iPhone despite setting up iCloud?

Yes.  Access via a browser, without the app, can only be done from a Mac or a PC, not an iOS device.

  • I am having trouble setting up icloud it keeps sending me back to install instructions and I'm just getting frustrated. So far I'm not liking the new itunes I can't figure out how to  look at my duplicate music like I used to.

I can't sign on to icloud. It says I need an icloud account. I click the help option it send me back to the same page. I reinstall it nothing.
    Download the iCloud Control Panel.
To enable iCloud on your Windows PC, first set up iCloud on your other devices, then install the iCloud Control Panel for Windows (Windows Vista with Service Pack 2 or Windows 7 required).
ok I can't seem to set up iCloud on any device I don't understand... Ive already installed it three times.
    Turn on iCloud.
From the Windows Start menu, choose iCloud Control Panel.
Enter the Apple ID you used to create your iCloud account and select the iCloud services you’d like to enable.
For mail, contacts, and calendars, you can use iCloud.com or Outlook 2007 or later.
there is no iCloud control panel but I click on i cloud. Then entere the Apple ID you used to create your iCloud account - WHAT!!!!? where is this I keep trying to find out how to create and iCloud account but I keep getting these stupid directions!!!
    Enable automatic downloads.
To enable automatic downloads for your music, apps, and books, open iTunes > Edit > Preferences > Store and select Music, Apps, and Books.* (Requires iTunes 10.5 or later.)
    - This is the only step that makes sense and already did it...
Turn on iCloud for the rest of your devices.
To get the most out of iCloud, set it up everywhere.
    This is soooo frustrating!!!!
Also I want to be able to look at duplicate songs on my itunes but after I downloaded the new version I can not figure out how to get that back. If the duplicate setting isn't in the new itunes I want the old version back.

Did you ever resolve the iCloud problem.I am in the same position and its driving me mad!!! If you have a link to an solution I would appreciate it.

  • HT204053 Although I have iCloud, my system preferences still show Mobile.me.  I have to sign in with my mobile.me ID which is not the same as my Apple ID. I want to change my iCloud ID and password.  How do I do it?

Although I can access iCloud, my system preferences on my iMac still show Mobile.me.  I have to sign in with my mobile.me ID which is not the same as my Apple ID. I want to change my iCloud ID and password to be consistent with my Apple ID and password.  How do I do it?

you need to be running OSX 10.7 or 10.8 to use iCloud i believe. It shows you are using 10.6.8 which doesn't support iCloud.

    hi
    can anyone tell me
How to use Special value set with Column clause to display addtional column
how can i use FND POPID and with COLUMN clause ?

    Dear Yaseen,
To get the value in formula cumulative, after you have created the formula for that particular key figure,go to edit and click on tab "calculations".
In that select overall result as 'count all values not equal to zero' and single result as 'count all values not equal to zero' .
And mark the cumulative check box underneath.
I hope you get the desired result and please do me favour .

  • I can't set up iCloud drive on my iMac after upgrading to Yosemite

I can't set up iCloud drive on my iMac after upgrading to Yosemite - iPhone and iPad are updated but both say my iMac isn't (even though it is running Yosemite).
My iMac is OS X Yosemite 10.10 (14A389), memory is 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 and storage capacity is 273.64 free of 999.35 GB.
When i go to System Preferences and click on iCloud. The iCloud Drive section is greyed out and says setting up and a spinning pin wheel. It stays like this the whole time. I have tried restarting the computer. i amanita sure what else to do to make it work. Any suggestion would be great.

I found another way to correct this...
    1)  Select Message, then go to Preferences,
    2)  a window will appear with 3 options, General, Accounts, Audio Video, don't be surprised when you see a video of yourself, your camera just turned on.
    3) Select Accounts (you may have several here)
    4) Select the account that has "iMessage" under the account name.  This may likely be your Apple ID  ****@me.com
    5) Look at what is checked under the "You can be reached for messages at:"
    6) Select the one account (or more if you like) and deselect the others
    7) Close the window and the problem goes away.
I'm not longer getting my sons iMessages.

  • HT204053 can a imac support mutilple iclouds i.e. can ecah family member have ther own cloud

Can an IMAC support multiple iclouds, i.e. can each family member have their own cloud

You can do this, but each family member will need a separate email address in order to set up an iCloud account; and each will need their own user account on the Mac in order to keep the iCloud accounts separate.
