HT204053 Invading ID

each time I try to update apps on my device, an unknown apple ID popps up (of course I do not know the password linked to it!) and as such I am unable to update my apps... however I can use MY apple ID for other puposes just fine !, tried to get rid of the invading ID by updating the software but to no avail ...it is still there...any ideas .please
thanks

It can be and ideally it should be, but there are folks with the unwieldy situations of having multiple Apple IDs that have been created at different times for whatever reason and they do a balancing act with having assigned different Apple IDs to different situations.
Some of this is Apple's doing. They have given folks trial accounts to try different services offered by Apple in the past that involved creating an Apple ID that is associated with some apps or accounts and then later they created another Apple ID to test trial a new service offered by Apple. I ended up with two valid Apple IDs in just this way and I use one for the iTunes stores, the Mac App Store and iCloud associated services and the other for my account in the Apple Store, my account here in the ASC as well as some other Apple programs in which I participate.

• How can I prevent Yahoo search from invading my searches on Google? I have (nor want) nothing Yahoo in my comp.

when I am reading a site I have Googled, Yahoo replaces the page with its own and gives me a search page much like Google's. I can delete the URL, but I can't get rid of the tab with Yahoo Search on it. The Y page will continue to take over the screen. It doesn't happen everywhere, but I haven't found a connection between the sites where it does happen.

Do a malware check with some malware scan programs.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database before doing a scan.
• How do I remove imesh which has invaded my browser

I tried to download music, and then immediately uninstalled imesh but it has invaded my firefox homepage with toolbar that cannot be removed. Is this spyware?

It seems there is a part of the software not removed by the standard process and needs to be removed separately.
go to
C:Program Files x86 (for Win 7 64bit users)
There should be a I-Mesh applications folder, in there is another uninstall program, run that and it seems to free up the browser and you can set your homepage as normal

Could be an issue with your Carrier and/or location...
The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart.. Reset.. Restore from Backup... Restore as New...
Try a Reset...
Press the sleep/wake button & home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release the buttons...

What do the Bluetooth and wifi addresses in the about section of the iPhones generall settings and can these be used to invade my privacy if someone knows them :( it has been suggested that someone knows and is planning to use them against me

My email was recently invaded and a mass email blast sent out to all my contacts. How do I clean this up?

Yes, change the password - however, the problem is that the email addresses have already been stolen, so the damage is already done.
In fact, I had a similar problem with my Yahoo account; so, for now, I've actually taken most close friends' addresses off (deleted them); not sure that that will help either, but at least they won't be able to steal them in the future.

• Bugs invaded my W700ds screen

I posted a question in Lenovo’s Facebook group and was asked to post it here!
Many of you might have heard about small bugs finding their way into TFT screens it happens every summer and I thought it only was a problem on cheap TFT´s, until it happened to my ThinkPad W700ds.
The bugs are called Thrips but also go by: thunderflies, thunderbugs, storm flies, thunderblights and corn lice (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thrips) they are very small and are attracted to light and heat and when they find their way inside an LCD panel (between the LCD screen and the backlight diffuser) they die and are stuck in place, I have three in my W700 screen now!
They only invaded my ThinkPad W700ds even though I have 3 ThinkVision Monitors (4421-HB2) right beside it!
Here is the video I posted on Facebook of one of them
Have anyone else had any of their screens invaded?
What is Lenovo’s stance on this is the panel wrongly assembled?

Why you think that this is Lenovo-specific problem is beyond me. All consumer-grade laptops and monitors are very vulnerable to them, not just Lenovo.
I live in the thunderflies-danger area and have friend with different brand laptop being ruined by them die inside a screen.
I just had one crawl inside my Dell monitor at work 3 weeks ago, luckily it got away.
What do you expect them to do? They can not hermetically seal everything, and as long as smallest gap exists, thrips can get in.
Or, to be more precise, hermetically sealed laptops do exist. These are "ruggerised" (ie dust-proof) laptops and look of how much more expensive they are because of added protection & complexity it means.

I have multiple family members using one apple id and all of our data is going onto each others phones/how do i stop this?

Each person needs to have their own separate Apple ID along with their own separate computer user account and iTunes Library.

• HT204053 I have multiple people in my family that use Itunes under my account. Is it possible for them to have different user names? The reason why I am asking is when I go to FaceTime my daughter's iPhone it also rings to my husbands iPhone.

When I used facetime on my Macbookair for the first time I facetimed my daughter's iphone and it also rang to my husbands iphone. How do I keep that from happening? We all use the same itunes account so does it have something to do with that? do we each our own apple ID? and is it possible to do that?

Create an AppleID under different email addresses for each family member at http://appleid.apple.com
If they don't already have their own email address just setup a free one with Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail or whoever you prefer.
Then on each device sign into iMessage with the users own AppleID in:
Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > Tap AppleID at top > Sign Out, then sign back in again with the correct AppleID.

• HT204053 The entire family has used one itunes account for years. How do we all set up separate iCloud accounts now?

The entire family has used one itunes account for years. How do we all set up separate iCloud accounts now? Or should we? 5 macbooks, 2 ipads, 4 iphones, 2 itouch, 2 imacs. How does one decide what to sync, share and what not to? Green Jeans.

You need to start by understanding the distinction between iTunes and iCloud - Apple confuse the issue by referring to 'iTunes Match' as part of iCloud. It isn't.
You don't have to have the same login (Apple ID) for iTunes and iCloud; many people don't and there's no problem about it.
Your iCloud ID gets you email, calendars, contacts, iWork documents and PhotoStream syncing between devices.
Your iTunes ID gets you the iTunes Store, the App Store for iOS, the Mac App Store for OSX,, 'iTunes in the Cloud' (downloading of purchased items to any logged-in device) and 'iTunes Match' (uploading of songs not purchased in the iTunes Store).
Your family members can easily each get their own iCloud account to keep email etc. separate - in each case they will need a different non-Apple email address (a free one from Yahoo etc. would do) to set up the ID. If they are sharing a Mac they need to be using a separate user account.
They can have their own iCloud accounts and still all sign into the same iTunes account: or they can open their own iTunes accounts using their new iCloud Apple IDs.
BUT they cannot transfer items purchased under the present iTunes ID to different iTunes IDs.

• HT204053 If I start using a new apple ID will I lose all my old purchases the next time I sync?

Hello,
I'm really, really confused and I'd appreciate some advice. I came here after searching for information on merging two apple IDs so let me start my saying that I understand that I cannot do this. I get that. The FAQ says I just need to start using my preferred Apple ID from now on. How exactly do I do this? Is it as simple as logging in with the preferred ID next time I purchase something? If I do that, what would happen to all my purchases under the old Apple ID the next time I sync my devices?
Here is the background to my situation:
I created an Apple ID when I first got an iPod many years ago. It was my e-mail address at the time. All my iTunes purchases have been made with that ID.
I bought my first Mac a couple of years ago. At the same time I purchased a MobileMe subscription. My MobileMe subscription was later converted to an iCloud account.
I'm no longer with the ISP that provided me with the e-mail address used for my first Apple ID. My only e-mail account is now my me.com address.
I tried to change my Apple ID to my new e-mail address but it said it couldn't be done because my me.com e-mail is already in use.
All my iTunes receipts go to my old e-mail address that I no longer have access to. I'd like my receipts to go to my me.com address.
I have a MacBook Pro, iPhone 4S, iPod Touch (all synced through iCloud), I also have an iPod Shuffle.
In order to get my iTunes and App Store receipts to go to my me.com address, I think the FAQs are telling me that I need to start using my me.com address as my preferred Apple ID. It seems to gives me an option of changing my e-mail address for communications but as soon as it realises that it is a me.com address it says I can't do it.
I'm concerned that if I just make make my next purchase with my me.com ID the next time I sync my devices I'll just have one song on there rather than my entire library. Can somebody please guide me through this?

You need to retain the ID you are currently using for iTunes in order to retain access to your purchases. You should go to http://appleid.apple.com and log in using the iTunes ID, and add a contact address there - you could get a GMail account (free). You may be able to forward mail on from GMail to your @me.com address, I'm not sure about that.
You can continue to use the ex-MobileMe ID for iCloud - there is no problem about using two IDs in this way.

• HT204053 Naive question I know but here goes. One apple ID, multiple apple IOS devices (touch/pad/phone). Books purchased via Kindle sync to ALL devices via iCloud. How can I stop this? I want to separate each of the family's reading prefernces from the d

Naive question but here goes.
As a family we have one Apple ID. All devices are synced via my PC and backed up to it rather than to iCloud.
Books purchased via Kindle App appear on all the devices within the "cloud" option. How do I separate each reader's prefernce to their own device? I want to make sure that the younger one's dont have access to anything unsuitable.
Thanks.

You can have one AppleID for your purchases so that all teh devices can use all the apps without having to buy them again, and at the same time, have different iCloud accounts for each user so that their content is not intermingled with everyone else's. You can even go so far as to have your iCloud Account enabled for "Find my iPhone" for each of the other devices allowing you to keep track of where tehy are when they get misplaced.
If you need/want, you can share iCloud Calendars between different iCloud accounts as well. This is exactly what my wife & I have done. We share calendars so I know when she has classes or dog competitions, and she can see my work schedule so she knows what nights I have to be in late, etc.
