HT204053 Is there a way to set up subsidiary email addresses for one appleID?
My children now each have an iPod touch and I'd like to set them up with, for example, the ability to facetime my wife or me without having to set up a new AppleID for each of them. All our music is consolidated on my AppleID and I don't want to change that!
You can create up to three email 'aliases' on your account - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into your inbox.
BUT
You will get all their mail and they will get all of yours: and once created you can never move that address away from your account to become a separate account, so that when your kids grow up and don't want you reading their email they won't be able to keep the same address.
So I would strongly advise you not to do that, but to create a new and separate iCloud account for each of them. You will find that much more practical and convenient.
There is no problem about iTunes: just go on using the same login for iTunes - it's perfectly possible to be using one ID for iCloud and another for iTunes, iTunes Match and iTunes in the Cloud.

Is there a way to set a default From address for my iCloud account?
Is there a way to have mail use my .mac address as my preferred iCloud address? I have mail configured to set the From header based on the account I'm accessing, so my work email will come from my work account, and my personal email will come from my personal account. I'd like to keep that configuration.
Unfortunately, I use my .mac address for my personal email, and Apple keeps attaching new, unwanted email addresses to my iCloud account (.mac.com, .me.com and now .icloud.com). Mail somehow sees three addresses on my iCloud account, and defaults the From header to .me.com. For a variety of reasons, including personal preference, I don't ever want to use the .me.com or .icloud.com addresses.
Alternately, is there a way to delete the unwanted .me.com and .icloud.com addresses?
ThanksI appreciate the reply, but it only gets me partway there. I already have that option set to 'Account of selected mailbox' so that replies to email on my work account (a non-iCloud account) come from my work email address.
My problem is my personal mail is on an iCloud account that, thanks to Apple, now has three email addresses associated with it. So when I reply to a personal email, the 'Account of selected mailbox' option frequently, but not always, chooses the wrong iCloud address for the From field.
Ideally, I'd like to be able to tell Mail that it should use my .mac address for email from my iCloud account, and my work address for mails from my work account. I'd like it to never use the .me or .icloud addresses. I don't think there's an automatic way to do that.
I'll likely end up filing a bug report with Apple. -
I have an iTunes account with my own music library. My wife wants to have her own music library. Is there a way to set up a sub account for her, or do I have to set up a set of husband playlists and a set of wife playlists?
Sorry, but that's not possible.
You can share iTunes libraries on a network > iTunes: Setting up Home Sharing on your computer -

Thanks
Bala DuvvuriHi ,
You can add property 'request.mandatorylanguage=<your_language>'
and property 'request.mandatorycountry'
on file 'prtDefault.properties' located in :
..server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\system\properties\prtDefault.properties
Then restart the server.

Is there a limit to the number of email addresses in one message?
Hello
Is there a limit to the number of email addresses in one message with Mac Mail?
I am trying to send out to c900 email addys and am being told my server does not recognise the email addresses. I will check with the folks hosting the email also.
Many thanks
Matthew CausonOoh, yes, 900 emails at once will absolutely not work (unless you get very very lucky).
If this is just a one-off, you should group the addresses into, at the very most, 50 addresses, and send batches. If you're doing this a lot, I would recommend using something like DirectMail.

Is there a way to make a rescue email address without calling apple support?
I see lots of questions about rescue emails etc. I am having problems with security questions as well I don't remember ever making those security questions either. So I am wondering of there is a way of making a rescue email address without calling the apple support team in which I do not wish to go through a whole bunch of people taking hrs to actually get it done , my dad has had experience with this before and isn't happy with calling them either because he has to recall so many times and go through the process over and over again so. Is there a way with out calling them?
This only leads me to calling apple support to change things ,in which I wish to not do so, I have money on my account in which I can't use because of these security questions in which I did not put up and when I made this account on iCloud it did not give me the chance to make a rescue email. Thus leading me to where I am now.

HT201320 Is there a way to transfer my Comcast email address book to my iPhone 4s?
Is there a way to transfer my Comcast email adress book to my iPhone 4s?
If Comcast does not provide an option to sync your Comcast online contacts with an address book app on your computer, they should provide an option for exporting the contacts to be imported by an address book app on your computer that supports syncing contacts with the iPhone.

Hi .. When we bought our iPad my hubby set up in his name / iTunes / iCloud. I now have iPhone ( he does not) and the two do not sync !! I would wipe him from the iPad but we have purchased all the apps etc in his iTunes account and not mine. Is there a way that my iPhone could sync with the iPad .. Can you set up multi iCloud accounts ?? Sorry but not very techno savvy !!!!
The iPad, like the iPod Touch and the iPhone was really designed to be a single user device. It was originally designed to be used in conjunction with ones personal iTunes library and one library only. Now it has gone PC free, but it still works the same way that it did at the inception, meaning it is still best suited as a single user device.
If you sign in and out of different Apple ID's on the iPad and you download past purchases with another ID, you will lock yourself out of the other ID for 90 days becuse you have associated the device with another Apple ID. You can read more about that here.
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4627
You can have multiple iCloud accounts (up to 3 I think) on the device, but to me that serves no real purpose if you can't associate the device with multiple ID's without worry of being locked out of your own ID. -
Is there a way to set a default wifi network for my iPhone 5s?
Hi,
I have two networks in my home. When I first walk in, my phone automatically recognizes my extended wifi network. But since I tend to spend most of my time in the back of the home, I rather have it connect to that network.
Is there a way to change the default?
And no, I can't move the AirPort Base or AirPort Express due to the way the cable is in my home.
Thank you in advance (hope I used the correct terminology).I have an Airport Extreme upstairs with my computer plus an Airport Express downstairs. They are both defined to be on the same network with Airport Utility. My mobile device use which ever one is giving them the best signal even when I am down in the basement.

Is there a way to set new default heap size for Java?
Hi,
I have a problem with setting global heap size for installed version of Java. By global I mean that every program that will be run using that version of Java, will be using that amount of memory. for heap. I know that I can use Xmx and Xms for each program that I start, but I don't want to do this. I just want to set some kind of property for installed version of Java.Launch Firefox and set the web page as wide as you want by dragging the hash marks at the lower right corner. Center the page on your screen where you want it. Then quit Firefox. launch Firefox again. The page should be just where on the screen and sized as you set it prior to quitting.

Is there a way to clear recently used email addresses?
When you open up a new email and start to type a contact's name in the To: field, a list of potential matches pops up for you to select from. Is there any way to reset and clear this list? The problem is that old, invalid addresses are showing up, even though I have removed these addresses from the Contacts list.
Any help? Thanks! I was able to get to the sqlite prompt, but at that prompt I must not be copying/pasting correctly. Here is what I'm getting if you can correct me, perhaps I need to type it in differently? Thanks

Is there a way to change the icloud email address associated with your Apple ID?
I had an Apple ID long before iCloud came around. Naturally, my username was my email address, let's say [email protected] I signed up for an @me email address when they started just to try it out, but never used it. Either by default or by my own decision, my @me account became the same as my old email address: [email protected] Later, Apple issued the @icloud email addresses, so I now have: [email protected] as well. I want to set up a different icloud address, one that I would actually use, let's say [email protected] Then, I would like to associate that address with my Apple ID and delete the oldaddress@icloud address altogether. Can I do this and if so how?
Thanks for the advice.Since your Apple ID is already associated with the current iCloud account (and the account cannot be delete, it can only be abandoned), you can't use it to create another. You would need to create a new Apple ID with a new non-Apple email address to create a new iCloud account. You can still use your current ID for everything else; the iCloud ID does not need to be the same as the ID you use for other services (iTunes, etc.).
You would then have to migrate your iCloud data to the new account and turn on your iCloud data syncing. When you turn Mail to On, you can create your new @icloud email address (but type carefully since once created it cannot be changed). You @me iCloud email address would remain associated with the iCloud account you are leaving but it sounds like you don't want to use it anyway. You can set up email forwarding to forwared email sent to your @me address to your new @icloud address while your contacts transition to your new address.
If that sounds like something you want to do, I can give you the steps to migrate your data to the new account.
