HT204053 iTunes Match and other Apple ID alignment.
I have multiple Apple IDs: @mac.com, @me.com, @icloud.com and then I have my Apple Store account (which is different again).
To add further complexity my wife shares my iMac at home and she has an Apple Store account - fortunately nothing else.
Over the past year we have added to our Apple product family with a new iPad and an iPhone 5 so we have tried (and mostly managed) to seperate out the devices so that they are no longer "shared" - with the exceprion of seperate logins to the iMac.
My problem? Well somewhere along the line it seems that I might have logged into my wifes account on the iMac and used my Apple ID....
Not a problem I thought until I now find that my iTunes Match (which is only a 12 month service) is blocked for 3 of those months... Surely there should be some kind of reset on the account?
To add insult to injury I have just been advised by iTunes that they will renew my iTunes Match on 16th December - I still won't be able to use it on the iMac.
Is there anyway of getting this reset?
This is crazy. I just bought a book I cannot download ?????
I have also to wait 90 days?????
What's going wrong with Apple? This is not the experience I was used to.

ITune Match and "others" in iTunes
Hi all !
I have noticed using iTune match and playing "streaming" songs was responsible for most of my "others" on the phone in iTunes.
It grows up to the point were my iPhone will tell me to watch out for storage the iphone being allmost full.
Appart from erasing all music and downloading the one I want again on the iphone (wich is a PITA), is there any other solution ?
What will happen if I deactivate iTune Match on the phone and activate it again ?
Bets regards,
PhilKeep in mind that iTunes Match is not a streaming service per-se. To get music from the cloud, your iPhone has to download it. If you select a song to play, it's getting downloaded in the background, and it won't do that on 3G unless you've enabled it in your settings. By default the iPhone is set so Match downloads won't happen on 3G
For what you are doing, I think you need to put on the iPhone the music you think you will want to play in the car (you can always change it). I'd suggest you use WIFI to download the music, as 3G is going to eat up your data plan.
Once you've got the music downloaded, go into the settings for your iPhone and toggle the music view settings so you only see what is on the iPhone. See if trying your USB setup in the car works then. If not, next step would be to keep Match turned off while you're driving, only turn it on for the purposes of refreshing what you've got on the phone. -
Apple TV, iTunes match and multiple apple IDs
My husband and I recently got Apple TV and also converted from MobileMe to iCloud. We each have our own unique Apple IDs that we each use to purchase from iTunes. We also set up a shared Apple ID to create Home Sharing so that we could access our music libraries in Apple TV (so three separate, unique Apple IDs). And we each signed up for iTunes Match, but on our individual Apple IDs (not the shared Apple ID). Now I'm trying to turn on iTunes Match in Apple TV and am running into an issue. It seems that since Apple TV is set up with the shared Apple ID (so that we can access things via Home Sharing and also charge purchases on Apple TV to the joint account), we may not be able to turn on iTunes Match in Apple TV because that shared Apple ID hasn't turned on iTunes Match.
My question is: should we spend an additional $25 to turn on iTunes Match on the shared Apple ID and will doing so prevent us from accessing iTunes Match on one of our individual IDs on our laptop (which is how I personally acces iTunes and sync all my devices - iPhone, iPad, etc. - my husband does his syncing on his work computer) - due to the 90 day error message? I'm trying to figure out the best, most practical approach for accessing all of our music and other iTunes downloaded content as well as photos, etc. and I'm struggling a bit here. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated - thanks!Have you tried the simple signout and try to sign back in with the other username and password? You may need to reduce the number of device sharing on the account you wish to access , I believe there are limits look at apple.com

ITunes match and multiple Apple IDs
Due to certain circumstances, my family is left with one computer for the household. This computer is subscribed to iTunes Match. Prior to that, everyone synced thier devices on another mac which is not available anymore. The question is, can they now sync and backup with the computer that is signed in to iTunes Match? If not then is there a way to work around it? Music is not the issue in this situation, it's the backup data, photos and apps.

One account for itunes match and one for all the rest?
Hello everybody
I was wondering how to use an Apple ID for iTunes Match and other for iCloud and backups. I found an article on the website that said that you actually can do that, but my question arises when I find out that now I only use one ID, all my apps are in there, along with my iPhone backups and stuff. So, if I create an ID for subscribing to iTM, will I lose the ability to update my apps on the old ID?
Please help!
The article is: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4895
CheersI know, but I can't use my credit card on my iTunes Store account, since it's a US ID. What if I change the country of my ID? How often can I change it? I was thinking of changing it, purchasing iTM, and then changing it back... can I do that?
Thank you -
ITunes Match and the magical disappearing explicit tags
So, after doing a spring (winter?) clean of my iTunes library today, there seems to be a bit of tension between iTunes Match and Explicit tags on tracks.
I'm obsessive with my library and add lyrics via Get Lyrical, use a script to search my iTunes library for specific profanities that outputs them into a playlist then use MetaX to tag all songs in that playlist with the explicit tag. As a student of radio, sometimes, it's just easier to check for tags that drive through yrics for profanity and songs that are airable.
However, for whatever reason, as soon as iTunes Match updates the library with the server, all explicit tags are removed except for those that are downloaded from the store with the tags already added (which is an annoyance in itself because Apple see fit to mark an entire album as explicit even if a specific track is clean and safe for air). Removing the explicit tags will find it readded after the iCloud sync.
All other elements of manual metadata are safe; purchase date, release date, copyright. It just doesn't like explicit tags - hoping it'll get fixed in a future update. My library has just over 10,000 songs in it. 95% came from my CD's that I ripped myself, plus some that I recorded directly to the computer from cassette or record (yes, I actually did that!). I recently subscribed to iTunes match and other than about 100 songs, they all matched correctly. I was very meticuous about my tagging so my library was very clean. Not sure if that matters as I understand they use a digital matching scheme rather than based on tagging, but regardless, I am very pleased with the final result.

I subscribed to apple itunes match and for some reason it won't load onto my ipad. Do anyone know how to get it to download
Hi,
If the tracks were not in your iTunes library on your computer when you subscribed to match, I am afraid that they are lost. Do you have a separate back up of this music?

I subscribed to iTunes Match and would like to sync my music on multiples devices that have different Apple IDs within the same iCloud family.
Can someone indicate the way to proceed?
Thanks.Hi,
You can't use family sharing or multiple Apple IDs with iTunes match.
ITunes match is only attached to Apple id that you used to subscribe.

i did the add a computer function and it says that this computer is already associated with an apple id...if you use itunes match with your apple id etc for 90 days...please explain. is this going to screw my wifes account up?
If you both have seperate iTunes Store accounts then basically, yes, it is going "screw up" your wife's account.
iTunes Match is designed as a single-user service which is associated with one and only one iTunes Store account ID. If you have subscribed on your account and want to activate the service on another computer that is already signed in with an account the present account must be signed out and then iTunes signed into your account. This means the other computer will have complete access to your account and will only be able to make purchases on your account. iTM is not designed to be signed in and out at will. If she has apps purchased with her iTunes Store account they will not be able to be updated. -
We have a mac book pro and 2 i phones 4S. We both have different Apple Id's. But we would like to connect both phones to the mac book in order to update photos and itunes match. I subscribed with my apple id to itunes match and it automatically updates apps, music, books etc. However the apple id of my husbands phone is not recognized so his music, apps etc are not automatically updated. The same happens with icloud.
How can we make the mac book recognize both phones?I believe because you migrated from a Nokia to an iPhone you need to register the Bn phone number with your Apple ID so it can be used for iMessage. The Pn number seems to be the only one registered

Manage your Apple ID and see if that does the trick
Hope that helps -
ITunes Match with 2 iTunes-libraries and one Apple-ID
Hello.
I am using iTunes on a Mac, iPhone and iPad.
I have two iTunes-libraries with one Apple-ID, one local on my MacBookPro an one with my HomeServer.
The change between the libraries is realised with a program named "Libra".
Now i have iTunes Match and the sync with the local library was pefect.
But what happened if i change at home the library when i want using the library with my HomeServer?
Is it possible or make it problems?
I hope you can help me.
Thank you.
ThomasI'm not familar with Libra, but if it gives you a way for iTunes to be associated with another library at launch, meaning it looks and behaves the same way your original iTunes library does, then when you launch and link to that library, initially iTunes Match will be turned off. You will have to turn it back on (if prompted to "add this computer, just do it, and if asked for your Apple I.D. just do it).
Once iTunes Match is turned on, it will scan your library and the results will be added to the initial match. Providing everything in your second library is determined to be eligible (low-bitrate songs won't be, neither will audiobooks, videos, etc.) you will have a merged library available in the cloud -
Where is iTunes Match content stored on apple TV? I recently joined itunes match and it is working on my ios devices, but I can't find my uploaded music on Apple TV
It isn't actually stored anywhere, it needs to be downloaded from the internet before any content can be played.
iTunes Match content is accessed through the 'Music' icon on the main screen though, it needs turning on though in settings first. -
Started iTunes Match and the songs are individually available on my apple TV, and there is a tab for playlists. Yet the only playlists available are the Preset itunes generated 4: 90's music, Classical Music videos, and Recently Added. Yet even the recently Added playlist does not contain my most recelty added music purchased form iTunes and shows that is in the Cloud. None of my other playlists are on my apple tv yet looking at the playlists from my iTunes on my mac, there looks to be no issues relating to them and the cloud. Even tried making a new playlist. It made no difference. It would be nice to figure out how to have my music available on my TV without having to open up my computer everytime. Yes I know I can use my cell phone but, I'd like to put my photos to music and to set that up I need the Itunes Match playlists to WORK
Hi I had exactly the same problem, I don't know if you setup your Apple TV before you subscribed to iTunes I match? If you did then I did the same and although all my songs showed up on my Apple TV none of my playlist did.
This is how I fixed it I went into settings on the Apple TV menu and reset the device back to factory default, I then setup the unit again adding in my iTunes username and password etc, ticked the bix that says turn on I match and then went into music
It took a few moments but it said updating once this finished I checked playlists and all my playlists as per my desktop PC were showing up!
I hope this Helios resolve your problem too :) -
If i sign up for itunes match with one apple id can i get the other apple id songs
if i sign up for itunes match with one apple id can i get the other apple id songs
I'm assuming you mean can you access the purchased songs from another apple id. No you cannot. You will need to download these on another computer and then transfer the hard files into your itunes library that you are using icloud with and let icloud match them.
You cannot access two different id's from one match account. Also, if you sign out of the match account that you are signed into to another to download purchases you will not be able to sign back into your match account for three months. So do not do this either. Just use a friends computer or another way. -
I just joined apple itunes match and I want to know if I can access my music on my wife's iPhone if she uses a different ID and password . If so how can I do this?
You would have to sign in with your account. Be aware that an iDevice or Mac or PC can only be associated with a particular iCloud/ iTunes in the Cloud account once every 90 days. So if you associate your iTunes in the cloud/Match account with her iPhone ,she will have to wait 90 days before going back to HER itunes in the cloud account.
