HT204053 my apple id email which is an yahoo address will not allow me to sign in
I tried to set up an icloud account. The instructions direct me to the login where it ask me for my apple ID which is my yahoo.address. So how can I set it up if I cant even log in? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
You can only create an iCloud account from an Apple device. While you can use it, once created, on a Windows PC, you cannot create one from a Windows PC.

I recently set up family sharing, and gave my minor children apple ids but when I tried to set the apple id on my daughters, diabled iphone (she uses as an ipod touch) so she could imessage me, it would not allow her apple id to do so. how can i fix this?
yes, when i go under imessage in settings and put in the icloud address under send and receive messages, I get an error message that says: imessage activation....this email address cannot be used for imessage...any ideas how to fix this.FYI under icloud both devices are under my account.thanks for your help

My iphone will not accept my new password for my email account. It keeps saying that the yahoo server is unavailable. what is the problem and how can I get my phone to accept m;y new password so I can once again get my mail on my phone?
This may work, try deleting the Yahoo email account from your phone and then re-add it, using your new Yahoo password.
If that doesn't work, log into your Yahoo account from a computer and double-check that you are entering the correct password. Also, your password may be case sensitive, so enter it into your iPhone the exact the same way you created it.

Been having trouble w/Chrome would play audio only of Vimeo videos, fixed that but now will not display photos on Pinterest, only the links behind them. So I thought I'd try Firefox again, used to use it for several years. Downloaded and then thought I should sign up for your newsletters. But (using Chrome right now) I could not get the page to accept my subscription. Tried several times, refreshed, etc. Not sure why, seems strange.
I'm sorry cor-el. I have not yet installed Firefox, life is way too busy just now. 24/7 caregiving is taking its toll :( I will install soon.
I guess with my post here my intent was mainly letting you folks know that apparently there is a bug on that newsletter page when it is viewed in Chrome. I could not find any way to report this issue unless I came here so I gave the whole story when I did. I am pretty sure once I install Firefox, I will be able to use that page to sign up for the newsletters, thinking it must be Chrome. Of course, I could be wrong, we'll see when I get to it. If the message says that the maximum number of free iCloud accounts has already been created, you won't be able to create a new iCloud account on that phone. You can sign into an existing iCloud account, but not create a new one. Your only options are to either re-use one of the accounts previously created or create a new account to use on a different iOS device (running iOS 5 or higher) or Mac (running OS X Lion or higher), if you have one.

Can anyone advise if apple is having issues with the APPLE ID portion of their site? I have been trying all afternnon to update my apple id from "Manage your account". It will not allow a revision with the instructions given. THis is most irritating since with the new update your apple ID must now be your email address which is incredibly old and I would certainly like to change it to my current email address!
You have the option to do that but THAT OPTION is also not working at this time.I am having the same problems. Firstly found out that I had a duplicate email address on two apple ids so I fixed that but now it wont let me verify the email address. When I click on "verify email address" nothing happens. So frustrating cos cant set up Facetime or iMessage on my iPad.

When i try to download an update from the appstore the dropdown menju automatically inserts my apple id (which is wrong). It's in gray and will not allow me to type in the correct id. How do i stop the auto insert so that i can enter the correct id?
the original apple id was entered incorrectly. Apple says it must be a email address. My email address is correct but the letter ( t ) somehow got added to the (.com) so that when i try to enter my id it is automaticly loaded with the email address the ends ( .comt ) . According to Apple this is not a "legal" email id. But it appears on my dropdown in gray and i cannot alter it or delete it, thus preventing me from downloading software updates.

I changed my Apple ID email address yesterday and now my IPhone 4 and my IPod 5 will not allow me to upload any apps. When it asks for my Apple Password it still shows my old email address. How do I change the IPhone and IPod to recognize the new email address????

After I updated to iOS 7, my iCloud account is showing the incorrect email address for my Apple ID but will not allow me to change it- it's gray and I can't click on it. How do I fix this?
If you change your email, you do not need to "change" your AppleID. Just edit your email(s) on your Apple ID by logging in to your AppleID account. You should always use the same AppleID for Apple Services (iCloud, iTunes etc) and multiple ID will cause problems and confusion in the future.

Apple ID has my old email address. It will not allow me to change the address and will not accept my password or ID questions. I recently upgraded to OSX Yosemite 10.10.1. I also have an Apple ID that works with iTunes and would like to keep it as my primary.
To change the iCloud ID on your devices you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted (if using iOS 7), then sign back in with your current ID.
If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, you will have to temporarily recreate it in order to delete the existing account. To do this, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password. -
The apple id password will not activate when I sign in and I do not recieve the email when I check mail on my Ipod. I have changed password and still nothing.
