HT204053 my wife and I have different Apple Id's  but use the same Ipad   Doo we both have to subscribe separately to iCloud or can we share purchases?

How can we get our own purcahes on the one iPad please?

Hi Shadow,
The apps are forever tied to the Apple ID that they were purchased under. Your iCloud accounts are also Apple IDs, so although you can sync the apps to your individual device via iTunes, you will be syncing them to the devices, not to iCloud.
Since you are still purchasing everything under one Apple ID, then I'm presuming that they live in a single iTunes library on your computer or Mac? If that is the case, then you would just want to:
Hook up a device to the Mac or computer
Select the device when it shows up under devices
Once selected, the Device Profile screens display to the right - click on the Apps tab, and select which ones you want on that device.
Also check all the other profile pages to make sure they are set up to sync the things you want to sync to that device.
On the info page, you will see that you can sync Contacts & Calendars via iCloud or via iTunes. If you want a single source for contacts & calendars for both of your devices, sync them via iTunes. If you want your own sets of contacts & calendars, sync them via iCloud.
Do you have iCloud set up on the computer or Mac? If so, which iCloud account are you planning on using?
Some of the decisions you will want to make will depend on how you have your computer or Mac configured in conjunction with iTunes. One Apple ID, but one or two User Accounts for the computer or Mac? iCloud on the computer or Mac? What do you want to share and to not share?
Post back with any questions.
Cheers,

How do i differentiate the apps that were purchased with my apple id and sync accordingly. As i want only the apps that were purchased in my apple id.
I am aware of the fact that i can click on the app and check with "getinfo" to see with whose apple id it is brought.but there are hundreds app which i cannot check one by one.
How do i filter the apps with apple id and sync?

Connect the device to the computer.
    Open iTunes.
Select the content desired to sync.
    Sync.

I don't think I see my situation addressed. I have one mobile me account and a separate appleID for purchases.   I have 4 devices and my wife has two. Right now they are all using the same mobile me account to sync just the calendar and address book.
1.)  I want to add email syncing for my 4 devices and email syncing for my wife's two devices separately, but we want to sync and share the same calendar and address book.  Is this possible?
2.)  I also have 5 different calendars, one for work, one for home, one for... etc.  Is there a way to have different devices only sync certain calendars and not others or is it an all or nothing deal?
Thanks in advance for any tips!

To begin with, I would like to try to explain Apple's confusing nomenclature in regard to iCloud.
Apple have called the whole cloud thing iCloud, there are a number of features under the iCloud umbrella, some of which require their own login. iTunes is one of these, another is what Apple have unfortunately also called iCloud.
You can use the same Apple ID (account) to login to both iCloud and iTunes, but you don't need to and often users will login to each service using a different ID.
The part that you need to remember is that the services available when you log into iCloud are completely different and unrelated to those when you log in to iTunes. Your iCloud login enables mail, contacts, calendars, find my phone, Back to My Mac, Documents & Data sharing and photosstream, it does not affect any of your iTunes services.
To avoid confusion when discussing your problem, when I mention iCloud, I am referring to the services under the iCloud login, Whereas I will refer to the whole cloud thing as The Cloud.
Generally speaking it is not a good idea to share an iCloud account between different people, it often results in contracts, calendars et cetera being deleted by others. Saying that however you can add secondary iCloud accounts to your devices at settings> mail, contacts, calendars. Secondary accounts do not have all the features of a primary account, but are often very useful. Because you can enable or disable each individual feature of an iCloud account, you can cover almost any situation by using secondary accounts.

  • My iPad Air always freezes during FaceTime calls using wifi. I switch to my iPhone 5c on the same wifi, and it never freezes while I'm sitting in the same location. Is there maybe a setting I have that is causes this? I am un to date on the OS also.

My iPad Air always freezes during FaceTime calls using wifi. I switch to my iPhone 5c on the same wifi, and it never freezes while I'm sitting in the same location. Is there maybe a setting I have that is causes this? I am up to date on the OS 7.1.1. Video and audio is froze on my end, only video freezes on the other end. It doesn't make a difference who makes the call either.

No, there isn't any setting that you are missing. Have you tried force closing FaceTime, and resetting your iPad?
In order to close FaceTime, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that does not make a difference, you could try resetting all settings, if you reset all settings you will have to enter all of the device preferences again in the settings app. That takes some time to accomplish, but you will not lose my data, media, apps or anything like that. Settings>General>Reset>Reset all settings.
If that doesn't help, the next step would be to restore the iOS software. Backup your iPad first, restore the iOS, then restore the backup.
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings

  • HT5622 My husband and I both have iPhones. We are currently using the same Apple ID. I have my own ID but when I send him a text message it comes back to me or goes to my computer. How do we separate the 2 ID's so we can send messages?

You need to reconfigure your phone for use with your Apple ID. I suggest you restore yours as new then reconfigure it with your information and Apple ID. Be sure to disable Find My Phone, if it's enabled, before proceeding.

  • My sister and I each have an ipod touch. We use the same computer and itunes but each have our own apple id. Everytime I want to update an app on my ipod it asks for my sisters apple id login!? help!

My sister and I each have an ipod touch. We use the same computer and itunes but each have our own apple id. Everytime I want to update an app on my ipod it asks for my sisters apple id login!? help!

When it asks for another ID on an App Update, it means that the application was purchased under your sister's ID but downloaded to your device from the iTunes library that you share. Even though you both have your own Apple IDs, since you are syncing on the same computer, you are using the same iTunes library.
Whoever purchased the app is forever tied to it, and you can only have one version of a particular app in a single library....
    Does that make sense?

  • TS2972 I would like to share my iTunes libraries with my Apple TV from both my iMac and Macbook Pro, but I use the same iTunes account on both devices. Is it possible to link my Apple TV to both devices at the same time?

I recently purchased an Apple TV, and I currently have it linked to my iMac with my iTunes account. I also have a newer MacBook Pro that has some different iTunes media on it than my iMac does, but they share iTunes accounts. Is it possible to link both devices at the same time, have access to media on both computers, and use the same iTunes account on both computers?? It seems Apple TV will only link to one iTunes account per computer, but can access multiple computers if different iTunes accounts are activated on those computers.

You can share multiple libraries with the Apple TV, they don't even need to use the same iTunes account. Just make sure that you use the same ID for homesharing on all devices.

  • I have 2 iPhones (1 personal, 1 business) but use the same Apple ID. I have replaced my personal iPhone but it has restored to my work iPhone. How do I restore it to my personal iPhone settings?

I have 2 iPhones (1 personal, 1 business) but use the same Apple ID. I have replaced my personal iPhone but it has restored to my work iPhone settings (photos/contacts/messages etc.) How do I restore it to my personal iPhone settings?

    You're welcome.
First check to be sure the new phone is running the same or higher version of iOS as the one you backed up (Settings>General>About>Version).  If it isn't, you'll need to update the iOS first.  Then go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, go through the setup screens on the phone and when given the options, choose Restore from iCloud backup and follow the prompts, choosing the backup of your personal phone to restore to.
Be sure the phone is connected to wifi and your charger while it is restoring the backup.

  • How do my wife and i use the same ipad?

How do my wife and i use the same ipad?

Nothing keeps you from handing it "back and forth" to share. I do this all the time on our couch with my Wife's iPad...
I think your quesiton revolves around having your own bookmarks and other data/info on the device.
The iPad is meant to be a "single user device"; there isn't a login/logout to differenciate one user from another.  "The iPad isn't a computer"..  ;-)
But, that being said, there are lots of ways to share the iPad/iOS environment.  Many apps, such as Facebook, let you login and out..  so, while you share the same app, each of your login is different.
For bookmarks and notepad it is a little trickier..  You can each use a different browser (so all of your bookmarks are complerety seperate.)
In some cases I would sugest a couple get a $900 Macbook Air rather than an iPad if this sharing won't work.  "Why can't I log in and out of and iPad?".  I think that the fact that it doesn't gives the iPad many adantages over a computer.
If you have more specific questions pleaser ask away.  Just like you share the kitchen table and many other things around your household, there are many ways to make this work!  ;-)

  • Can you use the same charging cable for both an iPhone and an IPad or are they different?  When I use the charging cable for my iPhone on my Ipad, it doesn't charge.

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.
How to Calibrate Your Mac, iPhone, or iPad Battery
    http://www.macblend.com/how-to-calibrate-your-mac-iphone-or-ipad-battery/
At this link http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/galaxy-tab-android-tablet,3014-11.html , tests show that the iPad 2 battery (25 watt-hours) will charge to 90% in 3 hours 1 minute. It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. The answer is very simple: You were not the original owner of the phone. Target sold you a phone that had been returned. You can verify the date of the original sale here: Apple - Support - Check Your Service and Support Coverage. I suspect you will find that the warranty expiration date is not one year from the date that you bought it.

  • HT4910 I have 5 apple devices that are using the cloud.  Do i need to have ALL of the devices backing up to the cloud since they are all on the same USER LOGIN or do i just need to buy more space?

I have multiple aple devices ( Ipad2, Ipad3, Iphone 4, Iphone 4s, Mac Mini, and Apple TV)  I am using the same apple login to sync to the cloud.  My question is do I need to sync ALL of them to the cloud or just one of the devices since I have them set up to sync anyway, or do i just need to buy more cloud space.  Thanks

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You should sync all of them, if you want them all to share the same information.
Syncing is not the same as backing up. I suggest you continue to back up your mobile devices to your computer, unless you have a good reason to do otherwise.

  • I have a Verizon and At&t Iphone 4 can I use the same Itunes account for both phones?

I have a Verizon Iphone 4 though my job.  I also have a At&t Iphone 4 for my personal phone.  Can I use the same Itunes account for both phone or will I need a separate account for Verizon Iphone?

I dont live in US, live in Japan.. but I do have 2 iPhones, one 3GS and one 4. I use same iTunes Account on both.
You might have a little "problem" if your payment were by Credit Card, everytime you try to buy something (I mean, try to download something on your iphone, not from your computer) , your going to need to verify your payment... but if u use iTunes Gift Card, you wont have any problem with that
