HT204053 My wife and I have different Apple IDs but would like to share calendars; how best to accomplish this?
Sharing our calendars has become essential. We developed a joint calendar on iCloud. Each one of us has our own Apple ID on our iPhone 4S. How can we both have access to the same iCloud calendar so that we can keep current for both of us? Similarly, on partitions to our MacBook Pro?
TIA
Jeff
Select an iCloud calendar, right/command click on it and choose "Shared Settings". Follow the prompts.

How can we get our own purcahes on the one iPad please?
Hi Shadow,
The apps are forever tied to the Apple ID that they were purchased under. Your iCloud accounts are also Apple IDs, so although you can sync the apps to your individual device via iTunes, you will be syncing them to the devices, not to iCloud.
Since you are still purchasing everything under one Apple ID, then I'm presuming that they live in a single iTunes library on your computer or Mac? If that is the case, then you would just want to:
Hook up a device to the Mac or computer
Select the device when it shows up under devices
Once selected, the Device Profile screens display to the right - click on the Apps tab, and select which ones you want on that device.
Also check all the other profile pages to make sure they are set up to sync the things you want to sync to that device.
On the info page, you will see that you can sync Contacts & Calendars via iCloud or via iTunes. If you want a single source for contacts & calendars for both of your devices, sync them via iTunes. If you want your own sets of contacts & calendars, sync them via iCloud.
Do you have iCloud set up on the computer or Mac? If so, which iCloud account are you planning on using?
Some of the decisions you will want to make will depend on how you have your computer or Mac configured in conjunction with iTunes. One Apple ID, but one or two User Accounts for the computer or Mac? iCloud on the computer or Mac? What do you want to share and to not share?
Post back with any questions.
Cheers,

I just bought an Imac. I have an ipad2 and an iphone 4s. My wife has an iphone 4s. Both of us have different apple ids. Would you recommend a new one or use an existing id? Why?
It is best to stop making all new apple IDs, as software is permanently tied to them, and you can't converge them. Make differnt ones if you plan to get divorced though....

My wife and I have different Apple ID's and passwords but I want to share our music library which is on iCloud under my Apple ID. How do I set her up to share the music library that resides on the iCloud under my Apple ID?
You would need to go to Settings>iTunes & App Store, tap her ID, sign out, then sign back in with your ID. However, if she has turned on automatic downloads, download previous purchases or signed into an iTunes Match account using her current ID, she would have to wait 90 days from when she first did this to change to another ID. She can, of course, sync your music to her device using iTunes without changing her ID association.

You do not need to ask the same question twice. Stick with the first post that you started here.

My wife and I have one Apple ID through which we have individually purchased apps for her iPad and my iPad 2. We both now have individual iCloud accounts, and she now has an iPhone. For business reasons we now have to separate the apps under our individual iCloud accounts, but will maintain a single Apple ID for purchases. How can we separate the apps?

HT202213 Can I share music with my wife if we have different Apple IDs
Can I share music with my wife if we have different Apple IDs
You can set up Messages and Facetime separate from your husband and still use the same iTunes to sync things like music, movies, Apps, etc.
To do this though, you need to get your own Apple ID. You then use your Apple ID to set up Messages and Facetime under your account. This way your Messages and Facetime calls will come from your account and your husbands from his.
And you will still be able to sync the devises on the same iTunes account. -

My husband and I have separate apple IDs , how do we use the same iTunes account
You don't. Each ID is associated with a separate account. Each of you should maintain a separate user account on your computer so as to maintain separate iTunes Libraries. Do not sync your phone with your husbands account or Apple ID and vice-versa or your data will become inter-mixed or worse - deleted from the phone.
Try to understand that iDevices are intended for use by one person with one Apple ID, one iTunes Library, and one iTunes account. They are not multi-user devices. -
My wife and I recently purchased IPhones (4S), we use an iMac and an IPad 2, we have separate Apple ID's but when we fired up our new phones and began setting up the systems, our contacts and applications merged. Since then I have disabled ICloud from my phone and my iMac until we can figure out how to avoid this crossover of information. Are we overlooking something?

If my my and I have different apple ids can we share apps?
We have an Ipad but just bought my wife and I our first iphones... I think I will set up my wife's I phone with the same apple ID as the Ipad so that she can sync and share apps with the I pad with ease...
However, if I create a separate apple ID for my Iphone will I have to re-buy any apps that we bought on itunes for the ipad? Or is there a way that I can get the apps from her apple ID to my Iphone with my own apple ID?
If so can you give me the steps to do this?If you haven't set up your own Apple ID already don't. I suggest you use the same apple ID as your wife's. The alternative is to do this http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1848. It's not efficient as you have to swap apple id's to update apps under both IDs. 20/20 being hindsight, I would have never created a 2nd apple ID for my wife.
Hope this helps. -
I Have my own Apple ID on my computer and would like to create a new one for my mum on my computer so I can transfer all her contacts etc. How do I do this ?
You can create a new iTunes account on your computer's iTunes or you can do it via http://appleid.apple.com : iTunes: How to set up an Apple ID within iTunes
If you don't want to give credit card details before the account can be used in the iTunes store then follow the instructions on this page : Create an iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store account without a credit card or other payment method -
I have multiple apple ids. I want only one. How can I do this?
I live in two countries and can't download anything as it seems I am always in the wrong country.... This is complicated by my having multiple apple ids. When trying to reduce this to one, I lost all my previously bought apps. Never mind. However it seems that I have not yet achieved this..... And now to boot I am unable to buy anymore apps as I appear to always be on the wrong country. How can this be?
As I have spent MANY hours on this, I am happy to start again, and if I continue to fail, I think I will leave apple for good.
Any patient soul willing to help?Hello,
What two countries are you living in? Are certain apps you have downloaded in one country not available in the other? The only solution I can see is to start new with a new apple ID or you can use one of e two you currently have. What do you mean "And now to boot I am unable to buy anymore apps as I appear to always be on the wrong country." This could be a problem with the firmware in which a restore may be necessary. Let me know if you have any questions and good luck. Don't forget to click this helped me or solved my question if this helped you. Thanks -

How can My husband and I share music we have purchased through the itunes store? We each have an itunes account. I have turned on home sharing but do not know how to save his music (which was originally my music) to my iphone. Thanks!!
If it is in your itunes on your computer, then select it to sync just like everything else that you sync.
The music must be on your computer.
