Mail AND iCal work just fine. See this article: http://bit.ly/LvVCR2
I use the iCal info on two of my own Macs and it works fine. The Address Book hack is a maybe. Read through the comments associated with the blog entry. Some folks have gotten the AB hack to work by locking the plist file.

I am trying to put iCloud on my iMac computer, but cannot figure out how to do it. I have it on my iPhone. When I go to my settings in my computer I have an icon that says MobileMe (which I cannot access) so I do not want that one. I would rather have iCloud.
Can someone help??
Thank you,

iCloud is only available with OS X 10.7.2 or better. -
HT204053 How do change the AppleID on ICloud on an Imac?
How do I change the AppleID on ICloud on an Imac? If I choose System Preferences > ICloud > Account details I can only digit the Name and Descriuption but I do not know how to change the ID....
You mean you've changed the (non-Apple) email address which forms your ID and hence your login? You will need to sign out in System Preferences>iCloud and sign back in again, re-enabling the various data types you want to sync in the checklist there.

I have been unable to log in to iCloud on my iMac. None of the hints online have worked. I can't sign in (with any password), sign out, the forget password doesn't work, the support button doesn't work. It's locked. I can't find anyway to fix this - I need to add a new printer ASAP - help!!!
The "Mail, Contacts & Calendars" window popped up a couple of weeks ago and is asking for my Apple ID password, which it will not accept, It won't sign me out (I am not logged in), the support or forgot password buttons won't work. With this window stuck open, I cannot access anything on system preferences. I can't find any way to make it go away. I have tried both my current and old Apple ID passwords, tried using FaceTime to login with the newer password, etc.

If my wife and I share our Imac but have separate Iphones and Ipads, can we set up 2 separate Iclouds on the Imac? Or do we have 1 Icloud account and synch our individual devices separately?
Set 2 independent users on the iMac, each can then have their own accounts (iCloud, iTunes etc)

I am changing to iCloud on my iMac, MacBook Air and my iPhone. My iMac and MacBook both moved over to iCloud but my iPhone when I go to Settings and click on iCloud it shows my Mail setting turned Off. When I turn it on it wants me to create a new email address to turn on iCloud Mail. I already have to "me" accounts plus another email address and don't want to create another one. I don't understand why it's asking me to do this on my iPhone but didn't ask on my iMac or MacBook and is there a way around creating another @me.com email address?
Hello Timmy790
Try the suggestions in the article below to resolve the issue of seeing your old Apple ID on your iPhone.

I've edited a Pages doc (which is stored on iCloud) on my iMac; when I checked on my iPad it just shows that the document is updating with the cog wheel going round and it's been like that now for well over an hour. While that is going on Pages on my iPad is frozen and I can't open the document. When I logged onto my iCloud account I found that the document is updated there. Can someone please explain what is going on with my iPad and how I can stop what seems a never ending process.
Hi tomtreb,
Welcome to the Support Communities!
The article below may be able to help you with this. Click on the link to see more details.
iCloud: Troubleshooting Documents in the Cloud
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3991
Unable to update documents
Documents I've updated on my Mac or uploaded from iCloud.com don't appear on my iOS device
If you're using an iWork for iOS app (Pages, Numbers, or Keynote), check the iCloud system requirements and make sure that you're using the latest version of iWork. For third party apps, check the documentation that came with the app, or check with the app developer to make sure the app supports iCloud. App Store application descriptions often indicate whether the app supports iCloud.
Go to Apple () menu > System Preferences on your Mac. Click iCloud and confirm that you're signed in to iCloud and the Documents & Data checkbox is selected.
After opening your iOS app, wait a few minutes for the documents to appear. Your iOS device may not have connected to iCloud since changes were made to the document at iCloud.com or on your other devices.
Try creating a new document on your iOS device, then check again for the documents from iCloud to appear.
Go to Settings > iCloud > Documents & Data and confirm that Use Cellular Data is turned on.
Confirm that you're connected to the Internet by checking for an Edge, 3G, 4G, LTE, or Wi-Fi icon in your device's status bar. Test your connection by opening apple.com in Safari.
Try resetting iCloud Documents & Data service.
Note: Preview and TextEdit documents uploaded to your iCloud Documents Library on your Mac will not be visible on iCloud.com or an iOS device, and iCloud iWork documents saved to iCloud cannot be viewed in Preview or TextEdit.
Cheers,

I have an IMac desktop -- IMac 11.2 with this software version 10.6.8
I also have an IPhone 4S and an IPad Air, and I want to link all three.
My IMac desktop was purchased before ICloud, so ICloud was not pre-installed.

You will need to Upgrade the Macs OS X

If you decide to Upgrade...
Check here for compatibility of 3rd party Software you may be using...

Just setting up iCloud on my iMac 10.9.2, my problem is when trying to sign out/off from iCloud it comes up with a verification code that is being sent to my land line, I'd changed the numbers in my Apple ID and they show as changed but the land line number still shows as number that the verification code is being sent, I prompt "Don't have access to this phone" and that's no help at all. The only way I can sign out /off from iCloud is to uncheck everything that I wanted to keep in the cloud????
Thanks in advance for any help.Skip the iCloud sign in for now.
Once you reach the home page, go to settings and sign out of FaceTime and Messages. This should also sign you out of iCloud.
Go to iCloud in settings and sign in with the correct Apple ID.
If that does not work
Skip the iCloud sign in
Go to Apple ID.apple.com and sign in
Change your Apple ID to the old one
Delete iCloud account on your device with the old Apple ID and the same password.
Go back to the website, change your Apple ID back to the current one. You will receive an email to verify the account. Verify first.
Sign into iCloud on your device with the correct Apple ID and password -
How to replace MobileMe with ICloud on my Imac?
how to replace MobileMe with ICloud on my Imac? pleae help. Other devices (Ipad and Iphone) are Iclouded but I can't change MobileMe in my system preferences on IMac (10.6.8)
SylwiaYou need to upgrade the computer's OS. Open the Mac App Store and try downloading Mavericks. If you get told it's incompatible, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Xeon or Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) CPU and 2GB of RAM, and if it does, click here and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Back up your data before upgrading. Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC programs such as versions of Microsoft Office prior to 2008.

I am trying to set up iCloud on my iMac - how can I do it?
I am trying to set up iCloud on my iMac. When I follow the Apple instructions and go to "System Preferences" I do not have an icon for iCloud but I do have MobileMe icon. Can anyone help me?
The minimum requirement for iCloud is Lion 10.7.5 (Mavericks preferred): the iCloud Preference Pane does not appear on earlier systems - the MobileMe pane appears on Lion and earlier but is non non-functional - you cannot now open or access a MobileMe account.
To make use of iCloud you will have to upgrade your Mac to Lion or Mavericks, provided it meets the requirements.
The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
2GB of memory
OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
7GB of available space
Lion is available in the Online Apple Store ($19.99). Mountain Lion (10.8.x) is also available there at the same price but there seems little point as the system requirements are the same for Mavericks (10.9.x) - which is free - unless you need to run specific software which will run on Mountain Lion only.
The requirements for Mountain Lion and Mavericks are:
OS X v10.6.8 or later
2GB of memory
8GB of available space
and the supported models are:
iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
Xserve (Early 2009)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
It is available from the Mac App Store (in Applications).
You should be aware that PPC programs (such as AppleWorks) will not run on Lion or above; and some other applications may not be compatible - there is a useful compatibility checklist at http://roaringapps.com/apps:table -

HT3606 can i run icloud on a Imac G5 running Leopard 10.5.8
can i run icloud on a imac g5 running 10.5.8 ?
I have a 2004 imac g5 and I have been able to use iCloud.com on it. I have used it with Safari, WebKit, Tenfourfox and stainless browsers. I had the best experience in Tenfourfox, followed by WebKit. In Tenfourfox, I was able to use all iCloud apps including the beta versions of keynote, numbers and pages. Try it, you have nothing to loose but possibly making your old Mac more usable and relevant.

I set up iCloud on my iMac with OS version 10.6.8 but I'm not able to have the iCloud icon show in my Dock with the other application icons. What can I do? Is it because iCloud is not part of the 10.6.8 version? I clicked System Preferences and I saw MobileMe and no iCloud.
Thanks for your reply! Would my IMac be able to support the Mavericks (10.9) considering that I bought it in June 2011? Not sure if that even matters.

I dont have icloud on my imac to set it up how can i get it
Hi i don;t have icloud on my imac to st it up how can i get it
Pleaase always post your System when you have a question: the answer is very often quite different depending on your system. I would assume you have 10.6.8 or earlier?
The minimum requirement for iCloud is Lion 10.7.2 (Mountain Lion preferred): the iCloud Preference Pane does not appear on earlier systems - the MobileMe pane appears on Lion and earlier but is non non-functional - you cannot now open or access a MobileMe account.
You can set Snow Leopard up to access the email on an existing iCloud account which has been set up on a compliant device, and you may be able to sync iCal using an unsupported (and possibly unreliable) hack, but no other facilities will work. You cannot open an iCloud account on Snow Leopard.
This page outlines the limited use you can make of an existing iCloud account with Snow Leopard:
http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/icloudSL.html
To make proper use of iCloud you will have to upgrade your Mac to Leopard or Snow Leopard, provided it meets the requirements.
The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
2GB of memory
OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
7GB of available space
To purchase it you will have to ring Apple at the number given at the bottom left of this page.
The requirements for Mountain Lion are listed here:
http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
It is available from the Mac App Store (in Applications).
You should be aware that PPC programs (such as AppleWorks) will not run on Lion or above; and some other applications may not be compatible - there is a useful compatibility checklist at http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
