HT204053 One iCloud account, two different ID's & Phones

Here's my situation... both my wife and I have different iTunes accounts, is it possible for us to share 1 big iCloud account?
Both of our phones have surpassed their 5gb of free iCloud and I want to purchase the 50gb/year so that we can share it -- is this possible, if so, how?
Thanks

You can, but when you do, any data you sync with the account from any of your devices will be merged.  You would, for example, end up getting each other's contacts, calendars, etc. on your devices.  Also, any action you take (such as adding, changing or deleting contacts) on one device is mirrored on the others.  You would also then be sharing a single iCloud email account.
If you still want to do this, one of you would need to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password and choose Keep on My iPhone when prompted.  Then sign back in using the other account's ID and password and choose Merge to merge the data from the first account with the data in the second.

My wife and I each have an iPhone and we have a Macbook.  Can we use one iCloud or Apple ID across all three of our devices?  Specifically we would like to sync one calendar, email account, notes and whatever else is functional for us to share.
Is an @me account the same thing as an @icloud account at this point?

The login for iCloud is your @me.com address if you migrated from MobileMe, or the other email address you chose when you created an Apple ID if you stearted an account from scratch. All iCloud accounts provide an @me.com address. No other address can be used as a functioning address with iCloud.

How do I associate two Apple id's to one iCloud account?

Ah, now you're talking about itunes store and itunes match.  The itunes store account is not the same as the icloud account (the two may use the same Apple ID, buy they can be different).
As for itunes match - you cannot merge purchased music from two itunes accounts.  Using one of the itunes accounts (call it A) and icloud account, use itunes match to sync the music to the cloud.  Then purchase other missing songs that are not part of A (but were in the other account) and that will add them to icloud match.

  • Can I backup two devices (with different documents) to one iCloud account?  For example: iPad and iPhone, not everything is synced between the two, but I would like to backup each (seperately in the cloud), is this possible?

    Hello Apple Community,
Can I backup two devices (with different documents) to one iCloud account?
For example: iPad Air and iPhone 5, not everything is synced between the two, but I would like to backup each (seperately in the cloud).  Is this possible?
This way when I change from an old ipad to a new, I can restore with the ipad backup, and when I change from an old iphone to a new, I can restore from the
    iphone backup.
    Thank you in advance!

Terminology check here. Do you really mean a "CD"?  There's a difference in Cloud behavior between content from a physical CD you ripped (which only has Cloud content if you have iTunes Match) and an "album" you bought from the iTunes Store.
    Read references for Home Sharing.
iTunes: How to share music and video - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2688 - about Music Sharing and Home Sharing
Home Sharing Support page - http://www.apple.com/support/homesharing/
iOS: Setting up Home Sharing on your device - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4557 - "With Home Sharing in iOS 4.3 or later, you can stream your entire iTunes library over your home Wi-Fi network from your Mac or PC right to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch."
The above can get pretty complicated.  You are probably best off by syncing both devices to a single library and/or updating the libraries on both computers to have the same content.

  • HT204053 Use two phones with one iCloud account?

Can you have two iphones with one iCloud account?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Absolutely. There is no problem whatsoever in using a single iCloud account for two phones. However, saying that, if the two phones are used by different people, it may well not be the best of ideas.

Yes you can, you just need to go into settings and into icloud, once it says account, login to your desired account

  • HT204053 two apple id for one iCloud account

Is it possible to assign two Apple IDs to one iCloud account?  I don't want to have separate ones for my wife and I...
    Thanks,

No, each account requires its own Apple ID. Why is it that you do not wish to have separate iCloud accounts, this is generally the best way of doing things.

  • How to use two iPhones with one iCloud account

I am really confused at how to set our iPhones up.
My wife and I each have an iPhone 5.
We have one iCloud account because we share our calendar and contacts.
I did get her her own iCloud account to add some calendar events I don't need to sync.
That is working all well and good.
The only problem is Siri.  It says my name to her when she makes a request.  So I went in to Siri and choose her name out of contacts.  Then it starts calling me by her name on my iPhone.
Obvioulsy Siri is linked via iCloud and I am not seeing a setting to change that.
If we could share calendars between two different iCloud accounts all would be well.
Can we.  Can I set my calendar up as something she can subscribe to?

    Hi Friend,
About Siri, it must know who you are. To do that, go to: Settings>>General>>Siri>> My Information. There, you can select your own information, like name, phone number, home address, office address and so on.
About Calendars, you can set what you want to share with her, and what she wants to share with you as well. To do it, you must set it in two different places:
    1o: Set with iCloud: Settings>>iCloud, there you can set if you want to sync with;
2o: Set which kind of calendars you want to sync: Calendars>>Calendars, there if you want to sync Calendars, but you won't sync your Work Calendars, unmark Work. It will private your Work Calendars just with your iPhone device.
3o: General settings of your Calendars: Settings>>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>>Calendars, there you can setthe period of events you want to sync and set your Standard Calendar.
    Hope it will be helpful

  • Two iphones separatly synced to one icloud account

I have my iphone synced to an icloud account.  My husband has just got an iphone too which I have syned to a icolud account using the same email address but the problem is all my calendar information and contacts are now synced to my husbands phone.  Can you have one icloud account but two accounts one for each mobile phone? Hope I have explained this correctly, as not sure what I am doing wrong!!!!!

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
To begin with, I would like to try to explain Apple's confusing nomenclature in regard to iCloud.
Apple have called the whole cloud thing iCloud, there are a number of features under the iCloud umbrella, some of which require their own login. iTunes is one of these, another is what Apple have unfortunately also called iCloud too.
You can use the same Apple ID (account) to login to both iCloud and iTunes, but you don't need to and often users will login to each service using a different ID.
The part that you need to remember is that the services available when you log into iCloud are completely different and unrelated to those when you log in to iTunes. Your iCloud login enables mail, contacts, calendars, find my phone, Back to My Mac, Documents & Data sharing and photostream, it does not affect any of your iTunes services.
To avoid confusion when discussing your problem, when I mention iCloud, I am referring to the services under the iCloud login, Whereas I will refer to the whole cloud thing as The Cloud.
I would suggest in your situation that you each have your own iCloud accounts for your own mobile device, whether or not you wish to share an iTunes account you will have to decide.

  • I seem to have at least two, and maybe four, iCloud accounts, across my iPhone, my iPad and my MacBook Pro. Can I combine them into one iCloud account?

I seem to have at least two, and maybe four, iCloud accounts, across my iPhone, my iPad and my MacBook Pro. Can I combine them into one iCloud account? I have been able to log into what appears to be three of the four iCloud accounts I have. Two of them seem to be remarkably similar, and one appears to be only for my MacBook.I think I know which one my iPhone is backing up to, as I successfully restored from a back-up last week. The fourth iCloud account I can't access via password or security questions. Any advice would be much appreciated.
    Thanks.

    You cannot merge accounts.

  • I have 2 Apple ids and two corresponding iCloud accounts. My five Apple devices are linked to one or the other. As one consequence a small number of my contacts are associated with one iCloud account, the majority with the other. How can I merge?

For reasons not entirely clear to me I have ended up with two Apple ids, two iCloud accounts and my Apple devices being associated with one or the other iCloud account/Apple id. One of the complications is that my contacts are partially owned by one iCloud account, partially by the other.
    Is there any way to
    - merge the contacts (I have tried exporting from one and importing into the other but one set will overwrite the other)?
    - migrate all devices to one single iCloud account without being locked out for 3 months?
    - merge Apple ids or just delete one of them without locking out devices?
Grateful for any suggestions because this is turning into a headache.

You can merge the contacts from one account with your other one without overwriting them.  Sign into the first account, download them as vCard (iCloud: Export contact information as a vCard), email them to a device signed into the account you want to merge them with, tap the vCard and choose Add..., then Create New Contacts.
You can also migrate a copy of the data in one account and merge it with the other by signing into the account you are leaving, then signing out (or deleting the account if not running iOS 8), then choosing Keep on My iDevice when prompted.  Then sign into the other account and choose Merge when prompted.  This won't move Notes however.  If you are syncing notes that you want to migrate from the other account, you can temporarily add the account to your Mac as a secondary account by going to System Preferences>Internet Accounts (or Mail,Contacts,Calendars)>Add Account>iCloud and signing in with the other account ID.  Then enable notes syncing in the secondary account.  You will then be able to open the notes app and drag and drop notes from one account to the other.  When you're done, delete the secondary account from your Mac.
You can't merge IDs as Apple does not allow it.  Also, you won't be locked out of anything for 3 months.  The "90-day switch" rule only applies to changing your iTunes store account, not your iCloud account.  Just leave your iTunes store account as-is.  The ID you use for the iTunes store does not have to be the same as the ID you use for iCloud.

  • HT1473 My girlfriend and I both have iTunes account with our own music libraries and we want to combine our two libraries into one icloude accounts so can both then access our one shared libary at anytime in the cloud.  How do we do this?

My girlfriend and I both have iTunes account with our own music libraries and we want to combine our two libraries into one icloude accounts so can both then access our one shared libary at anytime in the cloud.  How do we do this?

No it is not possible.  Content purchased from the iTunes Store is permanently tied to the account from which it was originally purchased, and Apple does not provide a way to change it.

  • TS4009 I seem to have 2 iCloud accounts with different names - a free storage that came with my Macbook and one I used when I bought some iCloud space. How can I cancel the free account?

I seem to have 2 iCloud accounts with different names - a free storage that came with my MacBook and one I used when I bought some iCloud space. How can I cancel the free account? Because of this I can't access iMatch and the ICloud account I paid for on my MacBook
Any ideas cos its frustrating that I can't access something I paid for!

Sign out of the account you do not wish to use, sign into the one that you do wish to use.
