Where are you talking about? In System Preferences, the iCloud icon should be there already, and the MobileMe icon will be removed when you upgrade to Mountain Lion. You can't remove it yourself (never tamper with System software).
If you have the iDisk icon in the Finder sidebar, you can just drag it off while holding the Command key down. There is no equivalent iCloud icon: iCloud's facilities are accessed through the various programs - iCal, Mail, Safari, Address Book.

iCloud requires 10.7.2 or later. See the following about how to upgrade:

Read the system requirements for iCloud. It is not compatible with Snow Leopard which your system profile confirms you have.

Why is mobileme icon grayed out when I try to add a MobileMe gallery?

I found some old answers on the web, but they aren't pertinent. My MobileMe prefpane is correctly configured, but when I click on the "+" sign in iPhoto, the MobileMe icon is grayed out. Why? iPhoto '09 8.1.2.

OK. Time to bring out the big guns and go in for the kill. Wyodor posted the following code for adding a MMe gallery via an HTML snippet. Works just like the MMe widget as it's essentially the same code:

Change "MobileMeName" to your MMe account name and XXXXXX to the gallery number that you can get from iPhoto or by visiting it online.

How to remove QuickTime Icon from systray of Windows ME

Attempted to install QuickTime in response to its solicitation,but its download program stated it could not be installed on ME. However, its Icon was placed in my Systray and every time I boot up now the system seems to try to read the hard drive for it causing the drive to chatter. After about 10 of these chattering attempts from the drive, the Icon appears, but the program does not exist in the system. How do I remove the Icon and the program that's trying to load the nonexistant program?

How do I remove padlock icon from all my files?

On one of my drives, every single file has a little padlock icon superimposed over the file icon. I recall when I did a clean install of windows 7 RC over my Vista install, I wasn't getting write access to the drive so I had to take ownership of the drive and mess with the security settings before it started working normally.
I have to admit, I find the security settings in all versions of NT mystifying... For instance, although my account is in the administrators group, having full access to administrators never seems to work. I always have to add my individual user account and explicitly give it full access.
In any case, I can't remember exactly what it took, but after messing around with the security settings for a while, I eventually was able to have full access to the drive and have no problems reading/writing/deleting files and folders, but there's the padlock icon still on everything.
Can anyone explain how to get rid of it, and/or maybe point me to a good, clear, understandable guide on how to properly set NTFS permissions.

How to removing the icon "Translations" of the cells of my Matrix?
I ran the example "06-UseMatrix," and this translation option is already implied. And I want to take her to add another. How do I?

You can disable/hide this icon from Menu Bar View> Picker's Display> Translational Fields Untick this option.
Also check this View> Indicators's Display> Translational Fields Deactivate this option.
Infact you can hide CFls, FMS Glass also from this Path.......

Unwanted MobileMe icon in menu bar

This is what I did:
I went online and ordered a power adapter replacement for my iPhone. I was asked for my Mac Support username and pw.
Then, after doing so, the MobileMe icon suddenly appears on my menu bar. (I've never subscribed to this).
I then went to system prefs then MoblileMe (wanting to remove said icon from menu bar). I was told that I had changed my password and that I should type in my new one (?). I tried a few of my pw's (for the heck of it) to no avail. I'm now unable to get into MobileMe prefs and I seem to be stuck staring at this (ugly) icon. I checked my keychains, nothing.
(I did do the 6-month trial on .Mac when I got my MB last Feb. but I wasn't into it. The pw I had for that's not working either.)
Any suggestions?

Anyway, an 'ugly' MobileMe icon in your menu bar? Do you mean the Sync icon, which looks like 2 arrows in a circular formation?
If so, to get rid of it just hold down the command key (to the left of the space bar) and drag it out of the menu bar.

[Solved]Remove button icons in KDE applications when running under dwm

I run dwm but also use KDE applications.
KDE applications do show icons on dialog buttons:
I gather that these buttons can be disabled in the system settings dialog when running a full KDE desktop. My question is: How do I achieve this - remove the icons on buttons - while not running a full KDE session?
kcmshell4 doesn't seem to expose an option to do so in any available module, including 'kcmshell4 icons'.
The systemsettings5 option repertoire is incomplete and only has the modules "Workspace>Desktop behaviour", "Workspace>Shortcuts", "Network>Settings" and "Network>Connectivity".
In my .xsession, I am currently exporting
export QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE=gtk # Make Qt5 use the GTK+ theme
export DESKTOP_SESSION=gnome # For something I can't quite remember
I've also seen XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP=gnome vs XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP=kde floating around, but neither achieves anything in this regard.
Does anybody know which setting in which config file I could set to emulate what the KDE configuration GUI does in a KDE session, or what KDE packages I would have to install in order to add the correct settings component to my KDE configuration utilities (KDE4 and/or Plasma 5), or what environment variable to set? A last resort would be installing a full KDE workspace or Plasma 5 and toggling the setting there, but I'd rather avoid doing that.

The line
ShowIconsOnPushButtons=false
in kdeglobals removed the icons for KDE 4 applications. For some reason, applications using KDE Frameworks 5.x did never show the button icons to begin with.

How do I add a song to my favorites Playlist without removing that playlist from iCloud

I just purchased a song on my computer and tried to copy the song into my "favorite songs" playlist but I get a warning that adding the song to the playlist will remove the playlist from iCloud and will only be available on the computer. I don't understand why I can't add the song to my playlist and have it updated to my iPad2 and Iphone4S via iCloud.

Figured it out,
If you get the "playlist will be removed from iCloud" notice then follow this steps.
Go ahead and add the song to the playlist you want.
go to iTunes store.
log into your Apple account and go to Account
in the section titled iTunes in the Cloud you will see a link titled add this computer and it will reload the music including the playlists to iCloud.
Once it reloaded again I tried copying the song to another playlist and it worked. Listing the song on all my devices.

How do I disable my MobileMe account and add iCloud as the account for sharing photos in iPhoto?

I have been trying to email work photos from my MacBook that were downloaded from my iPhone into iPhoto. However, it states, "the server does not recognized your email/password". I had/have a MobileMe account but have transferred everything over to iCloud. Unfortunately, iCloud is not an option when trying to add the following: iPhoto>Preferences>Sharing>Email>Add Account. I thought that it would have automatically converted the information over to iCloud from MobileMe but this did not happen. How do you add iCloud as the email account for sharing photos from iPhoto?

I;m going to bump this because I've been trying to figure it out for a week on these forums...
