HT204053 Signing in to iCloud

I am trying to sign in to iCloud but it won't accept my apple id. It says my apple id is valid but that I cannot sign in to the Cloud. When I downloaded the Cloud control panel it never gave me the option to set up an account. Please help.

i have an apple id and a icloud address on mi ipad, but i forgot my icloud password
i can log into my ipad with my id and password and get my mail but i cannot set setup icloud on my pc without a password, and the only option i get it to reset my appleid password
which is not the same as my icloud
is there a way to only reset my icloud password please?

You have to use a Mac or an iPhone/iPad to sign up for iCloud. Once you have you will be able to sign in from your PC.

If they were in your camera roll and on your phone when you last backed up, they would be included in your iCloud backup. If you restored the entire backup you should recover them.

Go to the 'Go' menu in the Finder and hold down the option key to reveal the Library. Then navigate to library > preferences > system configuration and drag the 'Networkinterfaces.plist' file to the trash and restart for mac. Now try again.

Everywhere I search on Apple's Support site says to sign in to iCloud using your "Apple ID," which I did. I've had my iTunes account for years (even migrated from the old AOL account system). It's the standard email+password that everyone is supposed to use.
My main question is how can I have a valid Apple ID and not an iCloud account--if the two are supposed to be linked?

I've tried both. First, I tried on my pc, where iTunes had installed iCloud when it last updated. I have iTunes installed on this computer (and on my iPad and iPhone), but that wasn't the issue.
So I went online, thinking I needed a separate iCloud Apple ID, but it prompted me for my current Apple ID and gave me the message about my ID being "valid" but not an iCloud account," which, lol, was what it had asked me to do in order to create one. I already quoted the minimum requirements, look in the post before yours.
You will have to upgrade your Mac to at least 10.7.5, upgrades are not free, you buy them from the App Store. Mountain Lion is the best but your Mac must be compatible.
Here is a list of compatible machines.
Also note that some older apps (Office 2004, Appleworks) will not run on Mountain Lion.

I would like to know if and how I can sign up for iCloud and get my purchased music on my PC.

No, you need an OSX or IOS device to sign up to iCloud, but ......

...... iCloud does not do that, you need iTunes Match, which does and works on a PC.

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing. You can sign into iTunes with your Apple ID using these steps:
Use your Apple ID with the iTunes Store
Open the latest version of iTunes.
Choose Store > Sign In.
Enter your Apple ID and password and click Sign In.
Click Review when asked to review your information.
Enter your billing information.
Click Continue after you enter your credit card and billing information. You can remove or edit your credit card information at any time. Learn more about updating your iTunes Store account information.

This happens on both my Lap Top and Desk Top computers both running Windows 7.

I also have the same problem. I've tried all fixes listed in other forums and nothing works. Running windows Vista 32 bit. Any working solutions yet? Tried every solution listed for the cmd prompt. Turned off antivirus and spyware. Rebooting about 100 times. Nothing works.
