How do I use the cloud on iTunes?

You can not setup a new iCloud account using a PC. You must use an Apple device (Mac or iPhone/iPad) to create the account, then sign into it using your PC.

  • Multiple devices on iTunes account how do I use the iCloud without us getting each others texts

I have 2 iPhones one is mine one is my boyfriends when I downloaded the software he was receiving my texts on his phone even though I chose to only connect his phone through my computer both phones and my iPad are on the Samuel iTunes account I deleted the account from the iCloud to stop it but how do I keep the cloud and stop it from getting our texts on both phones?????

You can keep everyone on your iTunes account all you have to do is have everyone create there own iCloud account. Me, my wife, and my son all have our own iCloud for our own use. I have my 3 devices linked to mine, my son has 2 linked to his and my wife has 2 also. For some reason by default the iDevice will ask you to use your iTunes account but you don't have to. You can create it right from the device itself if you want a @me account which is the way to go IMO. you can also go to iCloud.com and create it there too. We have a total of 8 devices linked to one iTunes account for purchases and everything works like a champ. Hope this helps.

  • I have a Macbook 10.6.8 and a new iphone5 how do I use the Cloud if it isn't already on my Mac?

I have a Macbood 10.6.8 and did not elect to add the iCloud when Mobile Me went away.  I am now purchasing an iPhone5 and am wondering how to use iCloud with the two devices to sync photos, contacts etc.

You'll need to update to either OS X Lion or Mountain Lion in order to sign into your iCloud account on your Mac.  Either can be upgraded from 10.6.8, but check the system requirements to see which your system will run (Lion requirements: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4949; Mountain Lion requirements: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5444).  If you need Lion, call the Apple online store to purchase the download code to download it from the Mac App Store (1-800-MYAPPLE in the U.S.).  Mountain Lion can be purchased directly from the Mac App Store.
After upgrading, you'll find iCloud in System Preferences.

  • How can i use the cloud on ipod touch 3g

any ideas how to use the cloud with the 3g ipo touch?

You need iOS 5 for iCloud. A 3G iPod can go to iOS 5. However, since you say you have iOS 4.2.1 I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1.
    Identifying iPod models
    iPod touch (3rd generation)
iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.
The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318.

  • My photos database is 400 Gb. How can I use CS Cloud to store it?

My photo database is about 400  Gb. Can I use CS cloud to upload my database?
    Thanks for yours answers

The answer to the original question is both "It depends..." and "it's always changing."
In the beginning, Creative Cloud storage was just about sharing a few project files. More recently, they finally added the ability to share folders. Since Lightroom Mobile came out, you can now use Creative Cloud to upload photos from your Lightroom catalog. But not exactly in the way that you asked. You can't just upload all your raw files. You select specific Collections in Lightroom, and Lightroom will make Smart Preview copies of them for efficient transmission and lower storage usage on mobile devices, and upload those Smart Previews to your Creative Cloud storage. You can then edit them using Lightroom on mobile devices, or you can also get to them (read-only) through your web browser when you click the Photos link on the Creative Cloud website. If you edit the mobile versions, the edits sync back to the originals in Lightroom on your desktop.
If you use your Creative Cloud storage for Lightroom Mobile syncing it does not count against the 20GB storage limit, though Adobe doesn't say what the limit for LR Mobile actually is. They assume it's self-limiting because most people don't have 20GB free on their mobile devices anyway.
So that's the "it depends" part. You can upload your Lightroom images to Creative Cloud storage using Lightroom Mobile, but not in their original format, and probably not 400GB of them. Also, right now you can't use LR Mobile to edit your LIghtroom catalog from another computer.
The "it's always changing" part is that over time they have been adding new ways to use that storage. If the way it works now isn't what you were looking for, wait a while and check back.

  • Two devices same Apple ID, how to stop syncing contacts

We have my son's phone using the same apple ID as my wife to track his purchases.  Under iOS 6 their contacts were separate.
My son updated both their phones to iOS 7 and now thier contacts seem to be mirrored.  When he deletes a contact, it deletes from my wifes phone as well.
Will a separate apple id for the icloud stop this from happening?

Yes a separate Apple ID will stop this. But that new Apple ID will also be linked to the iTunes and App Stores. You can manually turn off all the iCloud back up options as another option.

  • Two devices, two different podcast configurations?

I fear I may have posed a question to the wrong sub-forum, so I'm asking again here.
I'm sure someone has this answer to this, and I'd appreciate your expertise
I have an iMac, and use it to sync and manage my podcast playlists for an iPod Touch and iPad Air. The Touch and Air have entirely different content; the Touch contains music and audio podcasts, while the iPad Air contains video and video podcasts. As Apple suggested, separated the playlists accouding to device, to easily sync with iTunes:
...and so far, this is working perfectly. Except when it comes to podcasts.
If I add a podcast to my iPod Touch, a sync will automatically cause the podcast to be added to my iPad Air the next time I sync.
I want to have completely different podcast playlist on my iPod Touch and iPad Air. How exactly do I do this? Feel free to include links to explain the solution.
    Thanks!

My guess for this: if you want to have different content on your different devices, then you need to disable uncheck the "Sync podcast subscriptions and settings" box (in iTunes / Preferences / Store: there's a list of checkboxes in the bottom half). But this is going to lead to other complications.
Route 1: download podcasts only in iTunes on your computer, and then sync to your devices through playlists. This could work for some people, depending on how much you care about getting current podcasts.
Route 2: download the podcasts only on the respective devices, and listen to/watch/read them only on those devices, not on iTunes on your computer - in fact those podcast episodes never appear on iTunes at all.
My current use (with just an iPhone) is a hybrid of the above: I've turned off syncing podcast subscriptions and settings. I subscribe to "disposable" podcasts on my iPhone - those are the radio shows that I listen to basically right away and then get rid of. I subscribe to "permanent" podcasts on my desktop - those are the more "audiobook" ones that I could may listen to this week, or may listen to next year. I change the media kind of those permanent podcasts to Audiobooks so that they'll behave more reliably when syncing. Every few days, I wire-sync my iPhone to the computer to copy those podcast-Audiobooks over. (I turned off Wifi Sync long ago. Too unpredictable.)
Caveat: the latest iTunes (11.2.2?) has made the above procedure yet more of a hassle, with podcast episodes in iTunes refusing to disappear.
I only use podcasts on my iPhone, not on my iPad, but that's because I don't deal with any video podcasts - your desire to use video podcasts on one, and audio on the other, makes perfect sense to me. My own take on this is that podcasts in iTunes work fine in isolation, and podcasts on iOS devices work fine in isolation, but the syncing is a big mess. I'd like to think that Apple is trying to improve this, but each update seems to fix minor issues (now at least the play order thing is working properly for me in the Podcasts app), while making the big issue - syncing - worse.

  • Two devices, two users, same Mac -- share/merge Apps?

My dad has an iPad 2 with his own Mac OS X user acct and Apple ID. I have my iPhone 4 with my own Mac user acct and separate Apple ID. We both use the same iMac.
Is it possible for us to share apps? I hate buying lots of apps twice.

Is it possible for us to share apps?
Yes. The machine should already be authorized for both accounts. You may need to go through the steps of authorizing the other account in each profile, however it shouldn't consume an extra one of your five authorizations for each account. Once authorized you can import the apps from the other user's profile.

  • How do I use the cloud to find my phone?

I don't know how to use the ICloud to find my lost Iphone5

You need to set up the iCloud account on your iPhone, and under the settings for that account there will be a slider switch to enable the find my iphone feature. That must be ON for the phone to be findable.  Then you log in to your iCloud account in a web browser (or use the find my iPhone app on another iOS device) and track your phone from iCloud.

  • How do we use Creative Cloud as a company?

How do we as a company use Adobe Creative Cloud?.
We need to have multiple subscriptions that are paid for and tied to the company.
These accounts cant be tied to the user.
    Cheers

PS there is a severe usability issue with the faqs/forum.
I click on a link that says "ask our experts" at the bottom of your contact page
The heading says "ask a question" but the field is actually a search for previous answers.
Then when you start typing in the search field a button appears at the end of th fieldsaying "submit question"...
...So I continued typing expecting the field to be what the heading suggests but when i clicked the button it reloads the page with the "start a new discussion" heading (when i thought i was suposed to be asking a question) and then loses everything typed.
Maybe you could improve this...a bit lot

    From the Creative Cloud FAQ:
Can I buy more than one membership to an individual offering of Creative Cloud?
No, Adobe has moved to identity-based licensing with a technology that will not support multiple same-product subscriptions, so you can only buy one membership per Adobe ID.  If you need two subscriptions to Creative Cloud, you will need to purchase each subscription with a unique Adobe ID.
And so it goes.  Hopefully you have control over your mail system that you can just create some aliases, like "[email protected]" and so on, to use as your Adobe IDs which you can then forward to a real mailbox of whomever happens to be the administrator-of-the-month or whatever
I think the lack of a volume license is a bit short-sighted on Adobe's part and makes management all that more difficult.

  • How do I use the cloud with multiple iPhones?

I just got an iphone through work and I accidently added my 'personal' Apple ID on the account.  How do I remove it?  If I choose delete account will it effect my use of icloud for my personal phone?
    thanks

Settings>iCloud, scroll to bottom of screen and tap Delete Account.  This will only disconnect the device from the account, it won't delete any data on icloud.  Then you can enter a different account ID if you want.

  • How do I use creative cloud with an iPad

I am relatively new to Creative cloud. It is touted as a way to access and work on creative files from anywhere but it does not seem like I can work on those files from my iPad unless I pay extra for touch apps.
If that is so then I really cannot work on the files from anywhere especially a mobile device. I can only work on files from a computer that has the creative suite or the creative apps .Am I understanding this correctly?

    Yes, your understanding is correct.
Cloud apps are written for desktops and laptops running either Windows (full version, not RT) or Mac OS X operating systems.
We know that Adobe is working on Lightroom Mobile for iOS but that's all we've been told so far.

Unfortunately you won't be able to.  iCloud requires iOS 5 or higher and the 3G cannot be updated beyond iOS 4.2.1.
