HT204053 using an apple ID

i have just made an apple ID..whenever i try to login error occurs saying This Apple ID has not yet been used in the iTunes Store

Hi karunamamtani,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you may need to provide additional information before using your Apple ID on the iTunes Store.
Start with Step 10 in the "Creating an Apple ID on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch" section of this article for detailed instructions on setting up your iTunes Store account:
iTunes: How to set up an Apple ID within iTunes
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2731
Tip: If you are trying to create an account using an existing Apple ID, like your iCloud email address, you will receive a prompt telling you that your email address is already an Apple ID. Simply tap Continue, and then tap Use Existing Account on the following screen.
- Next, you'll be required to enter your billing information. To choose a different Credit Card type, tap one of the available options, and then tap Done. You will not be charged until you make a purchase.
- Once you've filled out all of the fields for your billing information, tap Next.
You can also follow these steps on a computer to use your existing Apple ID with iTunes:
Open the latest version of iTunes.
Choose Store > Sign In.
Enter your Apple ID and password and click Sign In.
Click Review when asked to review your information.
Enter your billing information.
Click Continue after you enter your credit card and billing information. You can remove or edit your credit card information at any time. Learn more about updating your iTunes Store account information.

  • HT204053 using same apple id on multiple devices

Can you set up multiple devices(iphone, itouch, ipad) with the same apple id?

I have four devices using my Apple ID and I have all four setup to use messages and FaceTime on all of them by using different email addresses as the "contact at" email address.
Go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive at>You can be reached for iMessages at>Add another email address. She can add her personal email address. Apple will verify it - it will say "verifying". Go the inbox of that email account and respond to Apple's email in order to complete the verification process.
Then go back to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive at>You can be reached for iMessages at>Uncheck your email address as the contact address and check hers to select it as the contact address.
Do the same thing in the FaceTime settings in the appropriate fields.

  • HT204053 Using 2 Apple IDs for the App store on iPad

    Hi there,
We're looking to set up and use two Apple Ids, so each can make and control their own app downloads on an iPad Mini.
This is our first experience in the ios environment and we're a bit lost with how to handle the Apple ID settings, specifically for app downloads, less for iCloud. On previous Android app stores, there was no need to give an ID + password for each single download.
Many thanks for any advice and help!

That's not going to work. You can only sign into an Apple ID on an iOS device once every 90 days. An iPad is a single user device. Yes, you can comingle the content from different Apple IDs on the same iPad, but it is best to download and comingle the content in the iTunes library of a single account on a Mac or PC and then to sync the comingled content to the iPad.

  • HT204053 Using different Apple ID's.  One for iCloud the other for purchase.

I created an Apple ID for iCloud and sut up my husbands Apple ID for purchase.  When I set up my husbands iPhone I used his Apple ID for both.  Why did all of my contacts upload to his phone?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
I am not 100% sure exactly what you are saying about how are you set things up. However, what you basically need to do is both operate separate iCloud accounts and share the same iTunes account.
Your iCloud account is for mail, contacts and calendars etc which you will want to be separate, your iTunes account is for your purchases.

  • HT204053 using multiple apple ID's

Should a family with multiple apple devices all use the same apple id in order to put music downloads and AP's all all devices?  We currently have 3 iphones, 1 ipad and 2 ipods!  we manage this with playlists but what about AP's?  We manage the music with individual playlists, but every time I open itunes, all of my daughters ap's begin downloading.
wodnering if there is a better way....I don't know alot about managing all the devices and using icloud.

If you don't want to pay multiple times for each item you purchase, for each device, then define the Apple ID in settings>iTunes Store...  the same for each device.
However, when you sync each device to itunes, you can control which apps are to be synced to the device, same for music.  Just look at each tab in itunes (for any given device) to set the items you want.

I have multiple family members using one apple id and all of our data is going onto each others phones/how do i stop this?

Each person needs to have their own separate Apple ID along with their own separate computer user account and iTunes Library.

  • HT204053 Can I use one Apple ID for iMessage/Facetime that is not the same as my iCloud ID?

I have one Apple ID for iCloud that is used on multiple devices. Each user has their own Apple ID for Store purchases.  Can I use my Apple ID that is NOT my iCloud ID as a way to get my iMessages/FaceTime on multiple devices?

To clarify, we share an iPad (original iOS 5.1.1).
When I use it, I would like to use my individual AppleID that I use for store purchases so I get MY iMessages on both my phone and the iPad.
It seems to work when I use the iCloud Apple ID (meaning iMessages come through on both units) but when I try to set them both up using my store Apple ID, it doesn't work.
    Help?!?!

  • HT204053 What's the best way to set up a family of devices in order to use one apple id for purchases on itunes and the app store?

we are trying to face time between devices, but it won't work whn multiple devices are tied to one apple id.
How do you designate one id to pay for purchases and one so that we can facetime from device to device?

The ID used for purchasing is in Settings>Store.  This ID does not need to be the same one used for other services such as FaceTime, iMessage, etc. (in fact you're far better off if you use separate Apple IDs for these other services).  To change the ID used for iMessage, go to Settings>Messages>Receive At, tap the ID at the top, sign out, then sign back in using a separate (and unique) ID.  You can similarly change the ID used for FaceTime in Settings>FaceTime.  To sycn data with iCloud such as calendars, contacts, etc., without merging your data across devices, set up different iCloud account with different Apple IDs for each device.  You can go to Settings>iCloud and turn off syncing for your data, and when prompted, choose to keep the data on the device.  Then scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  Then set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID for each device and turn data syncing back on in Settings>iCloud.

  • HT204053 I have one apple id for my iPad and a second apple id for my iPhone and laptop. I just want to use one apple id. How do I delete the apple id on my iPad and make it consistent with the other two devices?

I have one apple id on my iPad and a second apple id on my iPhone and laptop. I want to use one apple id for everything. I tried wiping my iPad and synching it with my laptop. The old apple id still remains on my iPad. I can't get rid of it. Help.

On the iPad open Settings/iCloud and delete the account using the button at the bottom. Once deleted log in using the other account. For iTunes Stores use Settings/iTunes & Apps Stores, tapp on the Apple ID at the top then sign out. Once done sign in using the other account. Once you are happy with the changes plug your iPad into your computer to update the backup.

  • HT204053 How do I use my apple ID to open Icloud.

Trying to open icloud on my PC, but it won't let me use my apple ID.   Apple account is valid, but not linked to iCloud - I use apple for iTouch.

Have you already checked "Settings" and turned off your "old" account and then added the same account which you already use on your iOS devices?
