Last night I attempted to purchase an app from the App Store on my iPhone 5s The previous day I had purchased an app with no issues, and this time was told that my payment method was invalid. When I clicked 'Continue' to fix my information, everything was correct so I re-inputted my credit card security code and tapped done. No, fail, declined.
I called my bank as I am currently vacationing in Libya and if my debit card (the card my iTunes account uses) starts getting declined I will have issues. No, no problems, they had a note in my account that I was traveling, and there are no holds or flags on my spending. She also noted that the iTunes store had requested a verification of $0.99 but had not charged the card for the amount.OOnce the $ .99 charge goes through to verify your payment method, you should be able to make your purchase.

Are you using a debit card? I read somewhere that debit card are not being accepted by itunes. Go to settings/itunes & app store, tap on the ID there then on view account, log in and check payment details to see if they are correct.

why apple forces me to choose a payment method to download a free aplication when I already check "payment method ...... NO" in the settings of my apple account
Asking for card details is a way of confirming that you are able to buy from that country's store, it doesn't necessarily mean that the card will be charged for the purchase (unless you are trying to gift content or an amount, that can only be done via a credit card) - have you tried entering the card, you should then get the 'none' option so that you can remove it

Did you put everything correct? Did your bank put a hold? You may have to call Apple as it is their payment system.

I have an iPad and an iPod,I am 15 years old so my uncle gave me his credit card,everything was awesome,I have been buying stuff free and paid for years and recently I have been receiving this problem "Payment method declined.Please change your payment method" .. Whenever I wan't to download an app either it is for money or free or even when I want to update an app that I have already downloaded a message saying "sign in required" I put my password again and the a message appears "there was a problem with the previous purchase,please update your payment information" I update the information and I am sure that the credit card is all good and filled,and I enter the information right even though the only bar empty was the Security code,anyway when I finish everything I tap done,but then it tells me "Payment method declined.Please change your payment method",I did everything,log out log in,waiting,trying over and over,but it didn't work,this problem happened a long time ago but unlikely it was fixed two days later,now I am facing this problem and I don't know how to fix it.I have seen lots of other threads that discuss this problem,but my problem is that I live in Jordan-Middle East,which is a problem because as one said was the solution is to change the credit to "none" and then return it back,I can't do that,because for some reason there is no "none" option in the page displayed,and for the other one who said to enter from store.apple.com and enter the billing information again,that won't work for me either because I can't find except "apple.com/us" >:(, I can't log in to my account in jordan while there's nothing but us app store on PC.
For god's sake someone help me out,I am really ****** off of this,I can't find a way to even send an email to apple .. can anybody help? it will be appreciated a lot.. I want help fast,I can't change my account because I have already bought a lot of apps (with money) and I can't just let the money worth go away :/

Thank you.We are users like you. There is nothing we can do about the credit card. Call the credit card company and ask them why the purchases have been decined. They will know for sure and will be able to tell you. Wait, it is not your credit card. Who ever is the account holder will need to call the credit card company.

Can't install free app without a pop-up telling me "payment method declined"
Up until yesterday I had been able to install all the free and payed for apps I wanted, then all of a sudden, when attempting to install a free app today, a pop-up appeared telling me my payment method was declined, despite it being free. There has been nothing wrong up until now, I have sufficient funds in my account. I haven't been able to find a solution to the problem and I'm not particularly inclined to get in touch with Apple's less than reputable support staff. Does anyone have any tips?
He reset didnt do anything. I cannot find the option to change my payment method to NONE either. This isn't making any bloody sense, I have no idea why this has suddenly started to pop up. I select the app, click install, enter my account password and then get through the age restrictive warning and am fronted with another box asking me to " sign in and tap again to view billing information". To asks for my password again so I enter it and am then fronted with "payment method declined". The app is Download Manager Lite, it is not the app because it is happening with other free apps too. It's incredibly frustrating.

I just bought new Mac Air and Ipad Mini but can't download any apps. I have had an Itunes account for years but since this purchase it states "payment method declined" even though same card with same info so nothing changed. Now even the old computer can't access Itunes or I should say Itunes comes up I just can't buy anything. Even if the app or book is free. I'm a student and class starts tomorrow, I bought this thinking I would have less trouble then my old HP. Not so far.
What sort of card is it that you have on your account ? If it's a debit card then I don't think that they are still accepted as a valid payment method - they are not listed on this page and there have been a number of posts about them being declined
If it's a credit card then is it registered to exactly the same name and address (including format and spacing etc) that you have on your iTunes account, it was issued by a bank in your country and you are currently in that country ? I have changed my family sharing organizer payment method but when asked to add members it keeps asking for information for a card I no longer have so I do not have the security code.
