HT204065 iMessage message doesn't be delivered sometimes

Hello,
I use iMessage with my wife and messages don't be delivered sometimes. It says "sent" on my iPhone 6 but my wife doesn't see the message.
We are both in Wi-Fi and 3G networks but there may be network issues instant.
I send another messages then and they are delivered. The message that doesn't be delivered doesn't be delivered still.
We use iOS 8.2
Is there any solution for this tedious problem?

Hello kkupe,
Thanks for participating in the Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like your wife does not receive some iMessages that you send her from your iPhone 6.
Start with the steps in this article to troubleshoot this situation:
If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Since your wife is not receiving the messages, she may want to try these steps on her iPhone as well.
Best Regards,
Jeremy

Thank you both for your responses but my daughter was reassured by the salesman in the iStyle store (official Apple store in the UAE) that iMessages would work but conceded that FaceTime wouldn't. My iTunes account is registered in the uk and my daughter's iPhone has iMessages even though she bought it (and uses it) in Dubai. Can anyone else throw any light on this?

How come when I send a text to a group it doesn't say "Delivered"?

Green messages are SMS messages sent to non-iOS devices or iOS devices that do not have iMessage enabled.  They go through your carrier and count towards your SMS limit, if any.
Blue messages are messages sent to other iOS devices (Iphones, iPods, Ipads) and Macs through Apple servers and are therefore not SMS charged by the carrier.

  • Is anyone having issues with imessages disappearing or not being delivered?

Is anyone having issues with imessages disappearing or not being delivered?

I too am experiencing this on my iPhone 4 after upgrading to 4.3.3. I am fairly convinced that it is a software issue. The last update seems jumpy. There appear to be more pauses and stuttering with screen changes too.  Sometime the button operates perfectely (even with repeated light touches). Other times, it doesn't matter how hard I press; it takes several presses. I notice it more when i am using a battery case or connected to an AT&T MicroCell. I am having a hard time pinpointing problematic apps, although i suspect that mail with my work Exchange account may be a culprit. I suggest posting your issues on Apple's iPhone feedback page, www.apple.com/feedback/iPhone.html, to ensure that they are looking into this problem. If it is a hardware issue, I'll be pretty upset as I received my iPhone 4 on day 1 of availability and it is out of warranty. Hoping for a fix with an update. Please post on the feedback page.

QUESTION: WAS THE iMessage DELIVERED OR NOT?????

    Hi,
At one level it is debatable and another the answer is yes.
    I will explain further.
You have two different apps on an iOS device and the Mac that act a little differently despite using the same service.
You also have Apple IDs and linked iPhone numbers in some cases and a form of syncing between the two.
Lets start with a basic set up and expand from there.
Lets say you and a contact are both on Mac sending iMessages using your Apple ID with no linked iPhone Number (i.e no second "listening" device)
You send an iMessages and you get the Delivered  and possibly Read depending on their settings when they Receive it.
Basically an Original Message to the intended person on the intended device.
    Now th next step.
The contact Adds an iPhone to the set up, linking the Apple ID to the iPhone Number
This means his (or her's) end has two devices, one with the intended ID and the other capable of "listening" as it were.
You send an iMessages again to their Apple ID (potentially the Mac).
This is the device that can respond with "received " and therefore the Delivered response you see.
The iMessages server is pushing the iMessages to all devices. they all respond they "received" it.
The iOS side seems to be slightly faster.
This can mean "Delivered" gets posted on your Mac briefly before the iMessages servers sort it out.
Now lets presume their Mac is Off line.
You might see the "Delivered" reported briefly from  his/her iOS device before the iMessages server realizes the Apple ID device has not responded.
However the iMessages, due to the sync process is on their iPhone.
Add in to this the fact that the Mac can send as If it is the iPhone.
If you then Send to the Mac/Apple ID  the iMessages server treats your iPhone as the Sender and posts Response back to  the iPhone (number) and not the Apple ID.
Depending on what device is off line at the other end you can find the responses are not synced the same way the actual iMessages are.
However the Sync process tends to mean that at least one device has seen the iMessage.

  • Is there any way to tell to whom a group text message has actually been delivered.

How can you tell to whom a group text message has actually been delivered?

I use Verizon's Messages+ app; when I send a group text, then long press the message, I get a menu and one of the selections is Message info.  That will show me the contacts I sent the message to.  It doesn't always tell me who got it though - for example, I recently sent a group message to my four kids.  The status shows:
Child 1 - Delivered (On Verizon, separate plan/account)
Child 2 - Delivered (On my More Everything plan)
    Child 3 - Delivered (On AT & T)
    Child 4 - Sent (On T-Mobile)
I got replies from Child 1, 3, 4 - and all the replies all were sent to all in the group.  So I know Child 4 got the message and replied to the group, even though it doesn't say delivered.
I guess if it says "Sent" or "Delivered" you can assume it was delivered to the recipients phone.  If it did not get sent, it will say it failed to send or something.  Whether the recipient has READ it or not can't be determined, unless, of course, they reply. In that case you know they got it and read it.

    Hi all!
I've a strange trouble with my Messages.app, It do runs but it doesn't goes, when I run it it looks like to go but I can't access to Preferences (the menu's voice is grey and cmd+, doesn't goes), I tried to clean cache and similar (using some programs like Onyx and CleanMyMac), I tried to delete all Messages.app configuration files (using CleanMyMac and AppZapper), but nothing it doesn't goes.

The specific .plist for iChat is the only one that previously worked for the iChat App itself when the Preferences item became greyed out and not accessible.
Messages still uses this .plist and would have been my first (and only) choice.
The By Host versions tends to have hexadecimal type numbers added to them.
These are supposed to help and be involved when you are using a Network Boot.  They are specific to that Mac.  Moving others from other Macs (or Users Account Folders) will probably not help and may even be part of the problem you have now.
If you removed all these items they would have been recreated from defaults within the app as it was restarted, as if the app was being started up  for the first time.
You don't needs to replace them.
For instance if you had an AIM login and there was an issue with that you could just remove com.apple.ichat.AIM.plist and then restart the App.
It would recreate this .plist effectively refreshing the login details as it went.
This one for example com.apple.iChat.LSSharedFileList.plist  Only holds the Recent Chat lists.
It is controlled by a setting in System Preferences > General pane about the number of Documents that are listed (in any app).  Messages displays it in two parts, Text Chats and A/V chats.
I am trying to decide if what you have done is now the cause of the issue.
I would be tempted to remove all the items you have moved on to this computer and restart the app to see what happens.
If you still don't have access to the Preferences In the Messages Menu then check what the Console App is saying about the Messages app.

    Hello Joe,
I found a few resources you can use to troubleshoot the iMessage issues you are experiencing.
I recommend reviewing this article first:

If your Apple ID is activated in the Messages Settings and you still cannot send and receive iMessages, I recommend following the steps in the section titled "If you still can't send or receive iMessages" in the following article:

  • How do I send a SMS rather than a iMessage message?

I want to send a SMS message to my mothers phone (thats not a iPhone) from my iPhone. I have my mothers e-mail and Phone number in my contacts for her. So I hit messages and select my mothers name and then type my message. Tap send, then it says delivered. Everything hunkie doorie, au contraire. The message is sent to my mothers iPod not her phone. I still what to keep the e-mail so I can face time her iPod but I still want to text her on her phone. How can I send a message as a SMS rarther than a iMessage message?
    Thanks.

You might try removing your mother's email address from her contact info on your phone. If that works you could set up a different contact (misspelled or somehow different) for her email to use with facetime. I used to do this all the time to more efficiently separate home/work/cell numbers. This might be a sloppy work around, but it might work until there are different options in the settings. This is just an idea. I really have no clue if it will work. Good luck.
