HT204074 Contacts and emails
Contacts and emails get repeted many repeted phone numbers and emails of other contacts, does any one know how to fix this?

Ok, my phone has separated many of my contacts into two entries. One for the phone number and a separate one for the email address. Also, my Yahoo account seems to have gotten all my phone emails and ALL of my phone numbers. I cleared up the Yahoo pretty much but not sure I I am for the task of manually reorganizing my contacts list and afraid it will not prevent it from happening again.
I also noticed while I was on phone with ATT that the box in ITunes to check off sync with Yahoo would flicker on and off if I expanded the link that said 'Devices'
Any clues what may be going on? What can I do to correct this easily? Thanks!

How can i edit my contacts?and i dont really used my phone and its automatically add a contacts and email adds.. I dont know why that happen..i just turn my phone off and this is happen..
Contacts are synced with a compatible programme in the computer; in the iCloud or with Yahoo and Google Mail. You can directly "edit" a contact on the phone and/or within the programme that you are syncing your contacts with.
Have you configured/setup mails on your iPhone? If yes, check the contents of the mail account(s) individually. (including iCloud) from SETTINGS - MAILS, CONTACTS, CALENDARS
"Contacts" if chosen from the mail account (s) would add email addresses to your contacts.

I mean its rediculous that it will delete my apps etc but is it TRULY going to delete my contacts and email accounts? Do i have to start from scratch?
iPhones are designed to sync to only one computer or iTunes library. Attempts to sync them to a new computer or library will infact wipe the device and replace the contents with contents from the new library.
If contacts and calendars are synced with a cloud service like mobileme, gmail, or an exchange server, then they will not be affected.
If however they are synced with a supported application on the computer or the user rely's on the device solely for contacts, they will be wiped. -
My iCloud account was hacked. My contacts and emails have been deleted even from iCloud storage
Hi, today someone hacked into my @icloud.com account and all my contacts and emails stored there have been deleted. I have changed my password but is there any way to recover my info? Thanks!
If the details have been deleted from iCloud, they are, I'm afraid, gone. But if you have backed them up by Time Machine they should be recoverable.

Hotmail Full Calendar/Contacts and Email Sync Poss...
You can set up hotmail to sync calendar/contacts and email (all folders, just like imap) through the N900 but have to set it up as an "exchange" account.
In the email client add new account and select "exchange" and put in your username and password. The next page will ask for the server which is m.hotmail.com - leave the domain empty. Select SSL (which it does by default.) Then set up your sync parameters.
This is nice for consumers who don't have a work exchange account that takes care of syncing for you.
If you run Outlook - you can use the Outlook connector to sync your contacts/calendar to Hotmail - which will then sync onto your N900. This way you won't have to use Ovi or PC Suite to sync...
Just passing along... I searched and found some info on this for other Nokia devices - but nothing for the N900 so I thought I would mention it.
Sandykudos for that, since i upgraded to pr1/2 i've been changing between both google and hotmail, but after pr1.3 i decided to stay with hotmail.
anyways here are the settings to get google account working :
Calendar AND contacts sync settings can be created by:
1st Open settings menu.
2nd Open "Email for Exchange" submenu.
3rd Filling in the fields as:
a. Server: m.google.com
b. Port: 443
c. Secure connection: check yes
d. Conflict resolution: your choice
e. User name: [email protected]
f. Password: your password
g. Domain: leave blank
h. Synchronize e-mail: leave unchecked.
i. Synchronize calendar and tasks: check yes.
k. Calendar: N900 (to populate existing calendar) or create a new one
j. Synchronize calendar back: your choice
k. Synchronize completed tasks: your choice
l. Synchronize contacts: check yes
m. First synchronization: your choice
A note of caution: For this sync to work your calendar must be empty. If you have already used the synchronization tool to transfer the calendar data from your old phone to your n900 it will not allow you to write the Google calendar data from the server into it. The n900 calendar will remain as a local, unsynchronized calendar and you must create another calendar for synchronization purposes. However, I believe this is not the best way to go. Instead, if you have already transferred your calendar data from your old phone open the n900's calendar, select all, and delete. Then the Google server will synchronize its data with the N900 calendar.

josefaIf you had never synced it before, you may have the options for "Sync Address Book Contacts" selected and not have your contacts in your address book on your computer. Hopefully you have a backup of your contacts somewhere that you can restore to (iCloud Maybe?). BTW, if you plug in your iPhone to your computer, open iTunes and click your phone. (Whatever you named it) You can click the second option name "Info" and see your options for contacts calendars, etc..

What is the best way to have Mac setup for sync-ing 2 calendars? Any way to change? When we first got our Macbook we unknowingly set it up as 2 separate users, with separate everything. Why did I lose my iphone contacts and can't get or send mail after synching my itunes from my itouch? How can I get it back? Especially the mail.
Check to see if you have a back up of the phone prior to when you lost this content (edit>preferences>devices). If so preserve this back up by putting a check mark in the "prevent ipods, ipads and iphones from syncing auto" box before plugging in your phone, then do a restore using that back up.

How to sync hotmail contacts and emails on Mac OSX Mountain Lion?
I have problem in setting up my hotmail synchronization on my macbook, specially my contacts and my calendars, including about my 10 years business conections and records. What shall I do?
The extra content will be in the HD/Library/Application Support/iDVD folder. Check to see if that folder is still present. Or check in the Home/Library/Application Support for the iDVD foldler.
If you find it in either of those locations launch iDVD, go to it's Advanced preference pane and point iDVD to the location of the iDVD/Themes folder:

I have created a Smart Group of certain family members and want to email that information to another family member who does not have contacts. Is there a wauy to do this?
Although this helped, I was unable to get a file of just the contacts I wanted. This wanted to send my entire AB.
Perhaps I did something wrong, although I can't see what it would have been. Dragged the icon to the body of email, and it showed the entire AB, in random order. I was using gmail, so I'll try eMail this time. Thanks for taking the time to respond.first -
Need help with my contacts and email - used to have ipod touch
Hi all
I had an ipod touch in the past that I used to sync through the laptop i'm on now. However, I sold that quite some time ago and just got a new iphone the other day. when I hooked it up to my laptop to set up, my old touch account came up. This normally wouldn't be a problem but now it's syncing all my OLD contacts (thousands of them) and old email accounts...some of which are not in my windows live mail anymore.
How do I go about:
1) getting rid of all these contacts that were just loaded onto the phone
2) starting new to add only the contacts I have in my windows live contacts list?
I've tried deauthorizing the computer but that didn't do anything other than delete old apps I had on the touch.

Which supported application on your computer are you syncing contact info with?
With Vista, this can be with Outlook 2003 or 2007, or with the address book used by Windows Mail with Vista - which is the name change for Outlook Express with Vista. The address book is called Windows Contacts I believe and the sync option for contact info is selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences. -
6.1.1 deleted some of my contacts and email not working
A few days ago I updated for a second time within a week my iphone 4s with the 6.1.1 The first time I did it everything worked fine. The second time a few days later, some of my contacts were deleted, only their telephone number exists (no name) and my network solutions email over exchange posts"Cannot Get Mail"- The connection to the server failed. I never had any problems prior to this upgrade. Is there a way to go back to an older software? I use Verizon service

I am sorry to hear that you are having issues with your phone. We certainly want you to be able to utilze all your phones functions completly. Now is this issue with iMessage or text messaging overall? Can you try to reset your network settings by going to settings>general>reset>reset network settings. Also if people are having issues reaching you we may need to look into connection issues with your phone getting service. Have you been able to pinpoint specific times when the issue happens i.e work, home, in car? Please keep us updated on the issue.

HT1694 how do I import my email contacts from my msn account to my ipad contacts and email?
I cannot get my email contacts into my iPad from msn, I tried plugging in to ITunes, and going in through settings on the Ipad. I can see my contacts if I just sign in from the msn page instead of going in through my mail app.
Under Manage select Export. This will create a WLMcontacts.csv file.
In Contact, select File > Import. Navigate to the .csv file. -
