HT204088 Changing primary email (thus AppleID) in Icloud but Itunes Not in Tune :)

I have changed my Appleid primary email as I have recently moved. so now I have a new AppleID but I believe that all of the information on Icloud is still correct as I just changed it. I did not delete it and did not recreated it. Just changed so th einfo should be linked to the new updated AppleID.
The problem is that when I use my iphone (updating apps for example),ITUNES does not recognize the new AppleID and defaults to the old one no longer in existence and as such I cannot login in into ITUNES or update my apps etc...
I believe that I have to delete the old AppleID on the IPHONE and recreate it on the IPHONE with the newly changed AppleID for a correct link. I am concened however that if I do so (the deletion) I will lose all of the apps I have downloaded and other info I have on the phone.
Can anyone confirm either. Thank you.

I really wish these web developers would build web apps and websites to proper HTML5 standards and stop building to WebKit. This building for WebKit is the same crap that people used to do in the 90's when buiding for Internet Explorer and that made a huge mess of web standards. Websites should look and work exactly on any web standards compliant browser, WebKit is not the Web.

Can I change my primary email address associated with iCloud? Not the icloud address but the one you log in with. I had to switch email addresses because my email got hacked and I just paid for 25g of memory in icloud. I just want to change my email address but keep the same account so I keep the storage space I just paid for, so I can't just delete the account and open a new one.

You can if it isn't an @me.com, @mac.com or an @icloud.com address. To do this go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change the address to the one you want to use and verify the address. Then tap Edit next to the ID name and change it to be the same as your new address.
Then you'll need to make this change on your devices. To change it on your iOS devices, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iPhone, then sign back in with the renamed ID. To change it on your Mac, go to System Preferences>iCloud, sign out, then sign back in with the renamed ID. If you have a PC, do this on the iCloud control panel for Windows.

I have an apple id been using for many years. I would like to change the primary email address. I would like to create a new icloud email address and use that as primary email for my apple id.
When I try to do this in the Manage Apple ID it says that I cannot pick an email address associate with apple domain.
How do I do this???
Essentially I would like to start over with an icloud email address but keep all my existing itunes purchases etc. If I create a new Apple ID with icloud email id I am hosed and cannot copy over my purchases. If I stay with existing Apple ID, I can change primary email address but I can't use icloud email.

While you can't currently change your Apple ID to a Mobile/iCloud email address, I found a solution that helps with a related problem.
Suppose you've recently got an iCloud email address, but Apple are still sending all your iTunes Store, App Store and Mac App Store receipts to your old gmail address (the one that's still your Apple ID). And suppose they're also sending all the Apple Support Communities notifcation emails to your old gmail address. How do you change it? How do you fix it?
Well the option exists, but it is hidden away in a weird place. To get Apple sending all of their receipts and notifications to your new iCloud email address...
• Go to your country's Apple Store website http://store.apple.com/
• Click on the Account button in the top-right corner
• Under Account Settings, click on Change your default shipping or billing info
• Sign in with your usual Apple ID and password
• The email address listed under Payment Information is the key
• Click on Edit next to Payment Information and change that email address to your iCloud address
That's all you have to do.

If the old ID is yours, and if your new ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. I want my Itunes/apps purchase emails to go to a different email address than my appleID.
I have changed the primary email address and even added an alternative.
But when I made my last purchase it sent the DO-NOT-REPLY itunes receipts to the originaly email address (which is still the appleID)
yes the new primary email address is verfied.
Am i missing another setting somewhere? in tunes or icloud? I just dont want the itunes info going to the AppleID (or original set up email address)

You cannot change a *.mac, *.me or *.icloud email address - any Apple issued email address cannot be changed. Only non-apple issued primary email addresses are editable.

If your AppleID is a .Mac or .Me account then you can't change it. But it shouldn't go away.
If it is something else you can. Just log in here (https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/) and manage your AppleID. Click edit next to the ID and you should be able to simply change it.

Settings>iCloud...scroll down...delete account. Then setup iCloud with your new ID.
You can't change the Apple ID for your iCloud account, you have to delete it.

I tried to change my apple ID to my alternative apple ID which is a @me.com address, but I can't sinceit seems to be apple domain address and that can't be primary apple ID. But I'm trying to use my @me.com account now as my main email address for all my mail, so how can I change it within my apple account and not receive mails from apple anymore on my old account (which is still my primary email address and apple ID) but to have those sent to my @me.com address?

I found a resolution to this problem. I had been using Chrome when I had the same problem as you. I had to go to the Paypal website from Internet Explorer. Then you can go into your account settings and add a new e-mail address and go through the process of confirming it. At that point you can click on the edit button for the NON-primary email address and it will take you to the edit page where there is a box you can check to make it your primary address. Click on that box and then you can go back and delete the old primary address. Hope this helps. Worked for me.

I changed my account nearly a year ago and everything was fine, then about a month ago if the phone is rebooted (iPhone4S) it is constantly prompting me for a password for the OLD email password which I do not remember. When this do try to reset , it resets my new apple id. When is occurs it renders my phone useless as I cannot access even my phone even if I have to call emergency if there is one. If the old ID is an earlier version of your new ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your new iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. You can now use your new password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).
