Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Does anyone know how to speak to someone technical...
Today I was very glad to finally go live with BT internet. Well for all of about 2 hours.
I was then disconnected, and it started flashing orange on the router, and I thought perhaps an Engineer was still tweeking something and wasnt worried. A little while later I found my phone line was now totally dead! I had received a call only half an hour before the broadband dropped.
So I rung up the BT support line on my mobile and had to do such silly tests as plug the phone directly into the phone line without the filter. Or try plugging into the second phone outlet (which isnt even wired up)
His end decision is to send someone to my house on Friday as he feels the fault is at my end!!!???
Now given that broadband has worked here since it was available, and indeed did for 2 hours today and the fact that the phone line is now suddenly dead within hours of them activating the service. Im thinking the problem is 100% going to be at the exchange.
So has anyone ever found a way to actually to speak to someone who can reason? Or is it just best to sigh and let them waste everyones time with useless visits?
I did ask the call centre guy if it was possible to speak to an engineer and his reply was "They are not customer facing."

Go to Solution.I dont know, as a network, server and programming consultant (MCSE, MCSA, MCSD, MCDBA) I have no experience of the inside of an exchange.
But the phone line dead all last night, and this morning. Kept picking the phone up to listen for a dial tone.
10am picked it up, dial tone. Turned router back on, we have internet again!
So what in the exchange was faulty? lol A little knowledge is dangerous guys, especially when you come up against someone who has forgotten more about servers and networking then you probably ever knew. -

I got a new iphone 4s in October and my e-mail has never synchronised with my computor. Initially my calender did sync but that doesn't any more. I use microsft outlook for my e-mail and calender.
Anyone got any ideas?email doesn't sync with your computer. Only with the server. What kind of mail account is it?

If you are talking about some "Karaoke" method using Logic I'll try to offer one. Before that I must say that most of the Karaoke methods are based on reversing the Phase of one of the stereo channel and bussing or merging the stereo into Mono. The result is: killing all Pan Centered in the mix - like Main Vocal, Bass, Kick, SN ect.
The artifacts of the Stereo FX of the main vocal will stay in the Karaoke, cause the FX is stereo etc.
Here is the Logic Setup I can offer to try some Karaoke trick using Logic.
1. Import a Stereo mix into a Logic Stereo track.
2. Create another stereo track and duplicate (copy) the Original Mix region to the duplicated track.
3. Hard Pan L/R both stereo tracks.
4. Insert an EQ and Gainer plugins into the duplicated track (R).
5. Set the Output select of the both tracks to a Bus and assign the new Aux Track Switch mode to "Mono".
6. Open the Gainer plugin and thick the "Phase Invert" Right button.
7. To keep the "lowend" instruments like the bass and kick, open the EQ plugin and enable the Low Cut filter and try some Hz settings 80-115, or different Q which will sounds better for your Karaoke.

I don't know of there is anyone than can fix this age old Apple problem. Does anyone know how to retrieve apps under an old Apple ID when the email used for that account no longer exists & I can't remember the password? After speaking with Apple Acct. Security, I got the security Q right but my birthday was wrong! They wanted the serial number from my phone that was 3 iPhones ago! Seriously??!!
Any updated way to work around this? No Apple people can correct it.

I have to change my apple ID because I'm changing my email address. (I have a Comcast address and am switching to U-verse) I'm worried that when I do, I'll no longer be able to use my first generation apple tv unless I change the apple ID there as well. I'm also trying to find out if changing my apple ID is going to interfere with getting my itunes content on my computer and my iphone. Does anyone know how this works??
My iTunes appleID is an old defunct e-mail address - it does not have to be functional.
Do what Winston says to ensure you keep getting correspondence related to that ID.

If you're having problems with the App Store you might try this:
1 - enable the Debug menu in App Store:
open the Terminal application.
copy the command below and paste into the Terminal window:
defaults write com.apple.appstore ShowDebugMenu -bool true
followed by Enter.
launch App Store, login.
2 - select the Debug ➙ Reset Application option:
3 - try again.

As far as I know they can't be deleted, just remove any personal info from it (credit card details etc) and stop using it.
If you downloaded any content via it then you will need to remember it and it's password, as content is tied to the account that bought/downloaded it, so if you move to a new computer you'll need to authorise the account on it if you want to use any of its content there (or if you bought apps with it you'll only be able to download updates to them via that account) -
I updated to itunes 11.1 in Windows 8 & now there isn't a device tab in the top right hand corner or the sidebar. When I ran diagnostics it didn't pick up my Ipad or Iphone. Has anyone else had this problem & does anyone know how to fix it?

If your optical drive is broken, you will either need to replace it or get an external. There is no other way.
Why do wish to upgrade? As you can see it is going to be expensive, probably more the Mac is worth.
