Also It shows that I have a $25.00 dollar balance on my account and I cant seem to spend the $$. Now why cant itunes take the $25.00 off what I owe and then cancel out the remaining balance so I can download the music that I have paid for in full???
Not going to happen the way you want it to.
When you add a gift card balance to the Apple ID, it's available for the Apple ID.
Probably best to create unique Apple ID's for each... this will also make things easier in the future as purchases are eternally tied to the Apple ID they were purchased with.

If your computer is on one minute before it freezes, than you have one minute to secure your serial number.
click the apple----->click about this Mac ------> click on version----> until you see the serial number. You may have to do this a couple of times if it freezes before you have all the numbers. A camera might help.

My daughter has used my computer to log into iTunes and download music but now it won't let me download recently purchased music from my iPad onto my computer. I want to transfer the recently purchased songs onto my iPod so how can I do this now? iTunes now says that I have to wait another 55 days! There must be a way to do this since I have paid for them.
In iTunes sign out of your daughters Apple ID and sign in with your own.

Hey everybody,
I also was experiencing the unknown error -42018 when attempting to download purchased music. Additionally, I was stuck in an endless authorization loop when attempting to play previously purchaed music. All this started when I installed the latest iTunes software 7.0.2.
I run windows XP Pro, and unlike the majority of users I actually set it up correctly with a dedicated administrator account, and regular user accounts instead of just running as admin all the time. For me, that was the cause of the problem.
The new version of iTunes software required FULL CONTROL privilages on the iTunes and iPod install directories for all user accounts that were using the program. (Previous versions worked fine, so this is a new thing.) Once I provided those permissions, iTunes worked correctly. Follow this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304040 for information on how to provide FULL CONTROL to every user account.
I hope you all find this helpful in solving your problem.

What country are you in ? Re-downloading music isn't currently possible in all countries (the record companies need to agree to it for each country). If you are in a country where music can be re-downloaded, then if the tracks are still in the store then they should show under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes.

I have created my apple Id.Now when i m downloading any app it is asking my credit card details.I have made multiple payments while trying to download the app.But the app is not getting downloaded,it is showing the message cannot connect to the i tune store.What should i do to download the applications.
Ok, first of all don't keep purchasing the application, and if you've purchased it multiple times, contact iTunes billing department immediately. They SHOULD only send one actual confirmation in and the rest of the "pending" charges will drop off (how long that takes is up to your credit card company, not iTunes), but you should be sure.
Second, sometimes when they are uploading a lot of new stuff at certain times it can cause the store to screw up, or any number of other reasons could be a factor why you can't connect to the iTunes store, be it on their end or on your end even. Wait a little bit and try again via "Check for available downloads" or via your "Purchased" option on the iTunes store main page.
IF the app you purchased isn't there and you are sure your credit card was charged, then you will need to contact iTunes to find out why you can't download the app. -

I've tried everything, unninstal, reinstall, delete all itunes folders and registers, everithing !!!I'm having a similar problem (see thread below) - my purchased music videos used to play until I tried to move my library from my old PC to my new Mac. The restore kept failing as soon as a video file (.m4v) was encountered. Had to manually import blocks of music and avoid the videos. Now have my music again but iTunes just crashes when I try to play the music vids I bought from iTunes.

No. The money redeemed from the card is for you and only you. It can't be used for any sort of gift.

I had credit from an itunes gift card
I had credit from an itunes gift card but not enough to cover the album I wanted so I paid with credit card. When I deleted my credit cards details later my itunes gift card remaining balance dissapeared too, firstly from my ipod then later it vanished from the computer too. I tried to reenter the itunes gift card code but it said it has already been redeemed.
What do I do now as I have still not used all the funds from my itunes card?My account's balance shows at the top left of the store's page on my computer's iTunes, and by logging in to view my account via the Store > View Account menu option.
