Hi, This must be quite a common problem. A purchase is defined as something one acquires by paying.
The app store gives you access to download free items or download items for trial. Most are rubbish.
Because the ipad doesn't support multiple login accounts everyone uses one apple account to download the apps.
Over the months i have tens of apps that have been downloaded and deleted. they still appear in my account as 'purchases'.
How do i delete items that have been deleted and not been paid for?

I don't think you can, Peter.
Apple regard a download from the App Store as a purchase. You can hide it and ignore it, but not cancel it.
I am not so sure about the system if you're talking about apps previously downloaded 'privately' that are later subject to Apple updates.

It's not currently possible to permanently delete any items from your purchase history, all you can do is hide them so that they are less visible (which you can't currently do on devices on iOS 6) : hiding and unhiding.

there are many reasons not to update apps, wow, you probably just buy anything people tell you!! Sometimes you lose parts of an app with an update, like when shazam started limiting how many checks you could do. if you didn't update you would still be able to have unlimited downloads. OF course eventually you will have to either update or it wont work with a new operating system roll out , but that buys you a lot of time to re-evaluate shazam and see if you really think it's all that or not. if you would have updated your software right away like apple wanted you to last year, you would have been one of the millions that had all their info posted all over the web for every crook, hacker and thief to look over!! I;m guessing from your reply you probably are one of the ones that was security compromised. there are just 2 reasons out of a whole list of reasons why someone might not want to update their apps!! It's almost impossible. The new iMacs have a Target Display Mode, but it's built to do that. Without ripping your screen out, finding an acceptable power supply, frame, and whatever electronics to convert a Thunderbolt signal to the screen, the cost will be much larger than buying a cheaper HiDef monitor that runs with an HDMI to Thunderbolt cable to your MacBook 15. In fact, you can sell your 17" MBP for a lot of money, unless it's broken or something, buying you a really sweet monitor.

Just tried to download and it wants me to buy it again? Is there some way around this? I guess I thought that was the whole point of the cloud, buy it once and access from any of your devices right?
Also, I have logged into the icloud.com as suggested and will plink around there for a bit and try to understand. It is just all so dang different that what I am used to; Apple's way, that is.

On your phone: Settings>General>Usage>Music...tap the Edit button...then the red minus sign. This will delete all music on your phone.

I have the same problem. I updated my mac to 10.5, which then had me update apps like itunes, etc. then it wanted me to sync my purchased music to my ipad before i updated the ipad...which worked ok. then when i was syncing the photos i got the same message when i hit "apply" asking are you sure you want to delete the 12 apps from the ipad - clicked "no" and brought me back to the original screen. Got the same message when trying to move them from the hard drive to the ipad. WHat is going on and how do I correct this? Thanks

Heyyo6789 depending upon the Adobe Creative software title installed the update mechanism in the menu bar may still be needed.

Do I just drag the adobe products from the applications folder into trash in my
old computer? Does that uninstall them.
