There was a problem connecting to the server "Max Time Capsule"
Disclaimer: Previously posted here (Ask Different) and similar to this.
I'm trying to use my MBP inside and outside my office, and having it backup to my 2TB Time Capsule when on its wireless network, or defer backups when not on the Time Capsule's wireless network.
Unfortunately, if I've been on a different wireless network for a few hours worth of backup attempts, bringing the machine back onto the Time Capsule's wireless network doesn't resume backups, and Time Machine never recovers. I can select the disk as a backup drive in the Time Machine preferences, but the disk remains unavailable from the Finder, and any backup attempts yield the standard:
There was a problem connecting to the server "Max Time Capsule"
Check the server name or IP address, and then try again. If you continue to have problems, contact your system administrator.
My WiFi connection is through the same Time Capsule that hosts the backup drive, and its name and IP address have decidedly not changed. The only thing that seems to help is restarting the Time Capsule, but that is an inconvenient workaround at best.
The problem sounds similar to Backup Disk Not Available, but the answers to that question are either to restart or change the disk name or turn off the 5 GHz network (which didn't help). I also looked at /Library/Preferences/com.apple.TimeCapsule.plist, but found nothing that seemed relevant.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My MBP is running OS X 10.7.5, and the Time Capsule firmware is 7.6.1.There was a problem connecting to the server "Airport Time Capsule".
The server may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again.
I still have internet connection, and have tried other suggestions across internet but really the only fix has been to power cycle the ATC. This unfortunately is only a temporary remedy for a day or so until it returns.
Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?
There is no fix.. I have written a bunch of suggestions to try.
https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6106750?tstart=0
It is very common on Mavericks.
How long did it take from when you set it up till it went bad?? -
No GPIB connection, but visible in MAX
The device is visible in MAX, but I am unable to communicate with it, either by using the 'Communicate with Instrument' or the 'VISA Test Panel'.
This seems slightly sporadic, as I have once or twice been able to connect and send a successful ID query (It's too old for *IDN? ...). However, even if I reach this point I either then get error 0: not able to connect to device/driver or error 6: timeout within Labview, and then I am unable to do anything in MAX after that point.
I have tried disabling timeout, switching cables, turning everything off and on again all to no avail.
This is very frustrating as with my standard setup I have not changed any VI's, settings, cables or anything since it was working fine earlier.
Cheers for any input.Sure, I'll see what I can find and if it helps at all.
Interestingly, today the 5210 connected fine and I was able to test some new code and everything worked perfectly... -
The reporting service web service connection pool reached the max pool size
I got a problem that it throw an exception "The timeout peroid elapsed prior to obtaining a connection from the pool. This may have occurred because all pooled connection was in use and max pool size was reached."
The satuation is our service use 15 thread to render report, but sometimes we met such exception I list above. I didn't change any configuration in rsreportserver.config, and it seems the connection to reportserver database from reporting service web
service was not disposed.
Is there any configuration I can modify to fix this issue?Hi Dexter,
In your case, we can try to increasing the size of the connection pool to resolve the issue. By default, the Max Pool Size is 100. You can refer to the similar issue below:
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/c57c0432-c27b-45ab-81ca-b2df76c911ef/timeout-expired-the-timeout-period-elapsed-prior-to-obtaining-a-connection-from-the-pool?forum=adodotnetdataproviders
Since the issue is related with ADO.NET. I suggestion you post the question in the following forum:
http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=adodotnetdataproviders
It is appropriate and more experts will assist you.

CompactRIO shows as Connected - Running in NI MAX but Labview can't detect it
I'm trying to get started with programming a CompactRIO. Yesterday I had a lot of trouble just getting the CompactRIO to show as connected in NI MAX, but now that it is connected Labview still can't find it. In the "Add targets and Devices" window the "Real-Time CompactRIO" folder shows "<No items found>" even though NI MAX shows the cRIO as "Connected-Running". Any ideas on how I can make Labview see the cRIO?
Solved!
Go to Solution.Hi DroidFreak,
What model are you using? Have you tried performing an IP reset, deleting your disconnected targets in max, then reloading the cRIO?

Connecting Powersupply to 845PE Max 2 FIR
This is probably a stupid question but I rather ask a stupid question than blow up my new 845PE Max 2 FIR. This motherboard has 3 power connections. Do I need to connect the power supply to all three or do I just use the big 20 pin connector by itself?
Thanks in advanceQuote

Thanks.
I got it up and running late last night. I didn't have time to mess around with it much, only to find out that when I set the high performance mode from the BIOS the system will not boot (no beep code, nothing. I had to clear CMOS and start over). I'll post more of my opinions about the board when I have more time to play with it.
Any idea why I would be having the boot problem in high performance mode? I have a P4 2.4B, MSI G4MX440-VTD8X Video Card, Kingston DDR333 512meg RAM, MAXTOR 40Gb ATA133 Hard Drive.
Thanks again and I hope you guys will understand that I am not only a newbie to this board I am also a newbie to building computers from scratch. :] -
Connection stuck on ADSL Max months after exchange...
Hi all
My exchange was upgraded to ADSL2+ nearly 12 months ago, but my connection is still running at the previous ADSL Max 8Mb sync speed. I'm using a Vigor 2710n router and my stats are as follows:
show adsl
--------------------------- ATU-R Info (hw: annex A, f/w: annex A) -----------
Running Mode : G.DMT State : SHOWTIME
DS Actual Rate : 8128000 bps US Actual Rate : 448000 bps
DS Attainable Rate : 10560000 bps US Attainable Rate : 1244000 bps
DS Path Mode : Interleave US Path Mode : Interleave
DS Interleave Depth : 32 US Interleave Depth : 4
NE Current Attenuation : 21 dB Cur SNR Margin : 14 dB
DS actual PSD : 20. 0 dB US actual PSD : 12. 3 dB
ADSL Firmware Version : 232201_A
-------------------------------- ATU-C Info ---------------------------------
Far Current Attenuation : 14 dB Far SNR Margin : 24 dB
CO ITU Version[0] : 00005453 CO ITU Version[1] : 00005443
DSLAM CHIPSET VENDOR : < TI >
These stats haven't changed since the days of my being on an ADSL Max connection. I'm not an expert at this but I believe that my Attenuation & SNR Margin figures are high enough to get ADSL2+ speeds. The fact that the modulation type is showing as G.DMT rather than ADSL2+ (G992.5) suggests to me that i'm still stuck on the old ADSL Max profile.
I've made several calls to BT support (India) and get different fob offs each time - that my line is operating within spec, that speeds above 8Mb are only avaiulable if I upgrade to Infinity (!) etc etc. During the last call about a month ago (case vol011-60207770173) I was told that they would reset the SNR marginand that the line would retrain over the next 10 days or so. Nothing changed at any stage on the router - stats remained as above.
I'm paying for an ADSL2+ product my profile seems stuck on ADSL Max. If anyone has any suggestions as to how to get this looked at properly by BT then please let me know.
Thanks,
Mark Denton

Go to Solution.Provided that you are sure that your router setting are not locked to G.DMT (have you got a home hub you can try?)
Then
If you would like to contact one of the UK based BT Care Team who moderate this forum, they should be able to help you get to the bottom of the problem.
They can be contacted using this link BT Care Team
They normally respond by phone or e-mail, within three working days, however you should get an immediate confirmation, with a tracking number.

Connecting Home PC to Max OS Leopard VPN
Hi,
I'm wanting to work out how to connect my Windows XP PC at home to the Mac OS X leopard Server VPN at work.
Could someone help?
Cheers,
JohnnyHere are the instructions that have worked for me in the same situation. A colleague found these but didn't provide a link to the source, so I'm not sure where they're from.
Windows VPN Settings
Step 1 - Edit the registry
1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\IPsec
3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
4. In the New Value #1 box, type AssumeUDPEncapsulationContextOnSendRule, and then press ENTER.
5. Right-click AssumeUDPEncapsulationContextOnSendRule, and then click Modify.
6. In the Value Data box, type one of the following values:
• 0 (default)
A value of 0 (zero) configures Windows so that it cannot establish security associations with servers that are located behind network address translators.
• 1
A value of 1 configures Windows so that it can establish security associations with servers that are located behind network address translators.
• 2
A value of 2 configures Windows so that it can establish security associations when both the server and the Windows XP SP2-based client computer are behind network address translators.
7. Click OK, and then quit Registry Editor.
8. Restart the computer.
Step 2 – Set up the VPN Client in Windows
Open up control panel
Click on Network Connections
Create a connection
Crate a connection to connect to my business (VPN)
IP address is xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
On security tab click on IPSec Settings
Shared key is xxxxxxxx
Start up the connection and enter userid and password information. -
SMB connections seem to be maxed out, how to increase?
I've read many threads and have benefitted from them with regards to file sharing on our new Lion Mini server at 10.7.2. My customer's environment is 25 clients, mostly windows: win 2000, xp, Vista, and Win 7; and three Mac pros 10.4 G5 and an iMac 10.6. Just rewired the entire lan with cat 6 and a 10/100/1000 switch connected to a new Airport Extreme router. The Lion server has the two 500gb drives, non-raid, with timemachine backing up to the second drive. The customer's largest production folders exist on WD external drives connected via usb. Initially that didn't work for sharing since they were ntfs and fat32 leftover from their cratered windows 2003 server. Copied them to 1.5TB HTFS/journaled external WDs and they share fine now.
A few days ago, the company's general manager (had to be him, right?) attempted to connect to one of the shared external drives on the Mini from his Win 7 laptop. He previously had them mapped correctly as windows "drives" to these WD server drives. But now, he gets a windows message reporting that the server has no more available connections.
I contacted the local Apple reseller, who said initially that the Lion Server has no limit to the number of users. I thought that may not be the problem here.
Then I spoke with their server specialist who told me to increase the number of allowed SMB connections. I said ok, glad to, but how do I do that. He said that Apple has de-tuned Lion Server and the abiity to fine tune it as it was previously under SL.
The client users that are connected to shares are either logged on as a standard user called "JPIshare", or connect as Guest. Sharepoints objects are a) two folders on the main 500gb drive, and b) two external WD 1.5TB HTFS/journaled drives. All clients were happily sharing all of this prior to the GM getting this message regarding one of the external drives.
How can I up the limit of SMB connections?
Thanks,
Dave JohnstonHi, this has happend to me today and i was just wondering if you ever did resolve the problem ..???

Hi there!
Our department (marketing) wanted to control the input of the iPads. We found out it was useless because our salesteam wanted to personalize the ipad (think about projectspecific items etc.) It is impossible for 1 person to control 10 iPads and deliver input for each different iPad. So we decided that each office can have its own account. But these ipads are already connected to 1 computer (i know you can connect them to a max. of 5 computers, but that is not enough in this case..) They can make there own account with their personal creditcard or that of the office. How can i disconnect the iPads en still remain the files on the iPads?
With kind regards,
WillekeWhatt ype of "files" are you concerned about? Are they purchases from the AppStore or music, video etc, or something else? If you are concerned about Apps, one method of centrally distributing apps is to purchase apps with a corporate credit card, and then "gift" them to the various employees. The "gifted" app is sent to the email address you specify and can actually be forwarded, prior to install to another user for their use...

Error while testing Driver connection Through The EnterPrise Manager
Hi -
I am using OAS 10.1.3v for my application.I am using both SQL Server 2000 JDBC driver and Oracle JDBC driver for my application. I am encountering problems due to SQL Server 2000 JDBC driver.
I tried testing for connectivity for SQL driver through the enterprise manager.(on the em console, inside home/administration/JDBC resources ). I am getting the following error :
Unable to create : com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver
Missing class: com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver Dependent class: oracle.oc4j.sql.config.DataSourceConfigUtils Loader: oc4j:10.1.3 Code-Source: /E:/product/10.1.3.1/OracleAS_1/j2ee/home/lib/oc4j-internal.jar Configuration: in META-INF/boot.xml in E:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1\j2ee\home\oc4j.jar This load was initiated at ascontrol.web.ascontrol:0.0.0 using the Class.forName() method. The missing class is available from the following locations: 1. Code-Source: /E:/product/10.1.3.1/OracleAS_1/j2ee/home/applib/mssqlserver.jar (from in /E:/product/10.1.3.1/OracleAS_1/j2ee/home/config/server.xml) This code-source is available in loader global.libraries:1.0. This shared-library can be imported by the "ascontrol" application
I tried adding mssqlserver.jar to the shared library.Still, i got the same error.
The connection which i am trying to test, has the following entry in the data-sources.xml :
<connection-pool name="BPELPM_CONNECTION_POOL1" max-connections="30">
<connection-factory factory-class="com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver" user="sa" password="" url="jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://localhost:1433;databaseName=WE411;selectMethod=cursor" commit-record-table-name=""/>
</connection-pool>
<managed-data-source connection-pool-name="BPELPM_CONNECTION_POOL1" jndi-name="jdbc/ExpressJDBCDataSource" name="ExpressJDBCDataSource"/>
I also tried with native-data-source option in the data-source.xml without a connection pool like -
<native-data-source
name="ExpressJDBCDataSource"
jndi-name="jdbc/ExpressJDBCDataSource"
description="Native DataSource"
data-source-class="com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDataSource"
user="sa"
password=""
url="jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://localhost:1433;databaseName=WE411 ;selectMethod=cursor ">
</native-data-source>
I am getting the same error as above.
Has anybody encountered a similiar problem ?
A related post that was posted by me is :
SQL Server Driver Problem in Oracle Application Server 10.1.3 data-sourcesthank you very much for your help. for update server's full name, may I put the mapping values into host file in the format of <ip address> <hostname.domain name> <hostname>, do you think it is OK?
in the second blog you suggest there is something about Server port(please refer to the following):
in the window machine, there should be an entry like sapms<SAP System ID> , can you please give me a full example:
let's say my system ID is EC1, so it would be sapmsEC1 8000/tcp, right ?
Here you have to enter the port of your application server. By default this is 80<SAP System ID>. But your basis administrator can modify this setting, thatu2019s why you should check it in the transaction SMICM (Goto -> Parameters -> Display). For example the IBSolution Development System Erinome the port is 8000.
You can also have a look into your services file on your machine. If you have a windows machine then the file exists e.g. here C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\services
In this file you should search a entry like sapms<SAP System ID>.

Can no longer connect to PXI chassis, corrupted?
We have 1044 Chassis with a 8106 Controller. System has been successfully up and running for some time. Locked up today and on a reboot can not reconnect to it. By reconnect - can not connect to it through the project, can not connect to it through MAX. We can successfully ping the controller. Thought it may be an issue with the startup vi on it (though we have not changed it), but can not FTP to the chassis either (using an non NI client that has previously worked). Plugged a monitor into the chassis, reboot and no errors seen (screen shows network connection and the controllers IP address, CPU etc. at 0% load).
Before I begin reformatting/reloading any suggestions?Hi bradh,
Are you able to boot the PXI controller into Safe Mode? If so, can you see it in MAX while in Safe Mode?

"No longer connected to the Internet" until router restarted
I've been running a G4 Quicksilver with OSX Tiger on a BT Internet Home Hub router for some time now, years in fact, with no trouble. I also run a Windows PC from the same router using Ethernet connection for both.
Yesterday I disconnected the ethernet cable from the Mac to update a child's laptop and when I plugged it back in again I got the message "your computer is no longer connected to the Internet". I ran network diagnostics to find the router was apparently not working, but built-in ethernet was, and restarted the router as requested. The connection ran perfectly all evening but this morning on restart - same message. The PC is running perfectly, hence this message can be posted.
I reloaded the BT software from the installation disc and got a good connection, but the first time the Mac went to sleep, I had lost it again. The connection seems to be lost everytime the Mac is restarted or goes to sleep, but if I manually reset the router I get a "connection successful" message. Last time I got the message I ran Network Diagnostics and was given a choice of locations: automatic or BTHomeHub. On BT all indicators were red; on automatic it is green as far as network settings and ISP, but red for Internet or Server. My net connection is broadband, 512k max and the PC connects and runs perfectly. I don't understand why the Mac has suddenly changed and why it won't connect.
I've just changed the location to BTHomeHub and got green lights on all but Internet - even the server light is green, but it says internet (failed).
I'm lost, can anyone help???Thanks Henry, just tried that.
When I try to access the Internet I get the page header, but the page itself no longer loads - eventually I'll get the "not connected " message.
If I run Network from system preferences it tells me I am connected and gives my IP address.
If I move to the "ethernet" column on Network Diagnostics the network status lights are green for built-in ethernet, network settings and ISP - but red for Internet and server. The message now states "your internet connection appears to be working perfectly"
It can't be the internet as here I am posting on my PC, so it must be the Mac, but I don't understand how I can be connected to my ISP, but not the Internet....
