I have an Ipad and Iphone but I don't have an Airprint at home but only a WIFI printer, my question is if I connect the wifi printer to Airport express, can I print from Ipad and Iphone ? Please help me if anyone knows about this.

Unfortunately, connecting a non-AirPrint-enabled printer to an AirPort base station's USB port will not make it AirPrint-ready.
You will need to use another solution, like Printopia, to be able to print to this printer from an iOS device.

  • Adding a Second Airport Express

Is there a trick to adding a second Airport Express?  My network is created by an Airport Extreme.  Six months ago, I added an Airport Express to get better coverage upstairs (no problems).  Now I want to add a second Airport Express to extend coverage to the back of our house.  I plug in the Airport Express but it never shows in the Airport Utility.  I have tried over and over and it never appears.

The second Express can "extend" the signal provided by the AirPort Extreme, but it cannot "extend" the signal from the AirPort Express that is already "extending".
The Express always needs to be located where it can receive a strong signal from the main router in order to "extend" that signal.
Might that be the issue here?  The second Express is possibly located too far from the AirPort Extreme?
If we need to do some more checks, is your Mac runnign OS X 10.6.8 as your profile indicates?

Most printers are supported by the AirPort Express. There is no definitive list.

  • Epson Aculaser CX11NF printing via Airport Express

Well today has been an interesting day...
Connected printer to airport express usb port - had problems printing via this in the past but since I'd moved the printer so I could plug it into the usb port on a computer and then share it that way I thought I'd give it another go.
Macbook 10.5.2 prints perfectly first time
Powerbook 10.4.11 can see it and connect but won't print
Toshiba XP laptop) can't see it
Check out the net, try out the info I find and hey presto! Toshiba XP laptop sees and prints perfectly
Share printer via Markbook and Markintosh and Powerbook prints fine but still won't print directly via airport express.
Feels wrong that an xp book can print via an apple airport express easier than an apple laptop...
    Anyone have any thoughts?

    Hi,
Thanks for all your replies. I tried repairs pewrmissions in disk utility again and got slightly excited when printer utility automatically selected a generic post script driver but my printer just printed jibberish.
I've just run repair permission in pinter setup repair and this is my log:

  • Printing to airport express from multiple imacs

I have two Intel based iMacs that share a Canon ip4300 printer via Airport Express (connected to the USB port on the airport Express). One of the iMacs prints perfectly and very fast. The second (and closer unit to the AE) prints extremely slow and can take an hour to print one photo. I disconnected the AE and plugged the USB directly into the second iMac and it too prints perfectly and very fast. So it seems to be something to do with the WiFi connection between the second iMac and the AE that is causing the problem. I have downloaded new firmware for the AE and drivers for the printer. I have reconfigured that AE from scratch. What should I do?

When you say that you installed the "drivers" for your Dell laptop, does this mean that you also installed Bonjour for Windows, which is on the CD that came with the AirPort Express?
If you haven't installed Bonjour for Windows on the Dell, you can download it here:

  • Error while trying to install printer on Airport Express

    Hi,
I'm trying to install a HP Deskjet 3930 on my Macbook through the Airport Express. I'm getting an error:
An error occured while trying to add the selected printer Error:-9672
    Anyone have any ideas?

    BINGO!!
After trying every driver possible (and there were many...), I finally got my HP Deskjet 3930 to print through Bonjour. Here's how:
    1. Reset the printing system with Printer Setup Repair from fixamacsoftware.com
    2. Add a new printer with Printer Setup Utility
    3. Select the HP 3930 connected through Bonjour
    4. Instead of using the default HP driver, select the HP PSC 1110 Foomatic/hpijs driver (available at http://www.linuxprinting.org/macosx/hpijs/)
I've tested the printer on a variety of print jobs and so far everything seems to be working smoothly. I should probably note that this driver does not grant access to the printer utilities, but at least it works.
    Hopefully someone finds this useful.

  • Getting an Error:-9672  when trying to add printer through airport express

Hi everyone, I have a canon colour laser printer (LBP5000) works fine when I pop the usb straight in to the mac, but when I try setting it up by plugging the usb into my airport express I get an Error:-9672 this happens when setting up the printer in print & fax system prefs.
I have another printer set up on a different airport express, which works fine.... could this be a problem?
    Any help would be great
    Thanks
    Lee

    Hello Lee,
When you select the LBP5000 in the Printer Borwser > Default Browser view, the Print Using menu should automatically set. If it isn't, and you are having to manually set the printer, then that will be a likely cause for the error (which usually occurs when the wrong driver is selected).
Try turning off the Airport Express and the printer. After a few seconds turn the printer on first and after it finishes making it's warm up sounds, turn on the Express. Now try to add the printer via the Default Browser view.
If that doesn't help, check your Airport Express firmware version. Some previous postees have found that their problems are resolved by updating their firmware on their Airport Extreme/Express.

  • Error 6753 when printing with airport express

    Hi all-
I'm trying to us my airport express to set up wireless printing from my PC laptop. Right now, I've got a netgear router and I -think- I've managed to con nect the airport express to join that network. My goal is simply to use the airport express to print wirelessly.
I've got a green light on the AX and printer is plugged in by USB. However, every time I try to print I get this: 6753 error.
    Status: green light
    Mode: join a wireless network
Wireless: it's got my network and pw. I've checked the "allow Ethernet clients" although I don't know if I need that.
    Connect using: Wireless Network
Underneath this it says "This AX shares a single IP address with wireless clients using DHCP and NAT." Then it has connection sharing bridge mode, but this is greyed out and I can't select anything.
Printers: I see my printer listed, but when I click share printers over Bonjour I get an error message before I can update the AX. It says to edit and change it to a wide area host name.
Do I need to change some settings? Or what "wide area host" do I need to change it to?
I am very new at this. Thank you for any help!

Thanks... I will try that first. I've also been advised to delete the network and add a new one with the printer connected... but your idea is simpler.

  • USB printer on Airport Express via Bonjour: print queue no longer works

This is a variation of similar postings on this forum, but hopefully provides more information to allow others to pinpoint the problem.
Have been using Intel iMac 10.4.8 now upgraded to 10.4.10. Two printers attached: 1 via USB and a 2nd via USB/Bonjour on Airport Express. Both working flawlessly. 2 days ago, an ADSL Internet outage occurred. When this was reestablished an hour or so later, everything was back to normal, EXCEPT that the USB/Bonjour/Airport printer no longer works. When jobs are sent to it, the printer queue stops and a red "!" appears in the dock on the queue. Restarting the queue just brings back the red "!" again.
Have done all the usual things:
    1. Checked cables, restarted iMac, restarted printer, reset Airport.
    2. Have confirmed the printer works find if moved to a direct USB port. So the problem is not the printer.
    3. Have upgraded the Airport firmware to 6.3. Works just fine as a network access point. So the problem is not the Airport itself.
    4. Have deleted, added the printer, renamed the printer - none of these things helped (this was suggested by some postings on the forum)
    5. Have tried every combination of which item is powered up first (this was suggested by some postings on this forum)
Have confirmed (by checking CUPS Error Log, as well as by Internet Connection Diagnostics) that the problem is that the iMac can no longer connect to the printer when printing on the local host if it is connected via USB/Bonjour/Airport. However, it can find the printer for adding a printer during setup. So Bonjour is working, but the printing is not.
There are lots of similar postings of people having problems with printers previously working, but then stopping working on an Airport Expresss/Extreme. I hope the above scenario, which is a very simple network topology, and the fact that the iMac and printer and Airport all work correctly on their own, is of help. It does look as if the problem is in the Airport Extreme, and was triggered by the WAN outage, and not fixed by printer reinstallation or firmware upgrade.
Looking forward to someone with a clever suggestion...
    LeslieB

What did you use to discover the printers on both Mac and PC. Did you use Bonjour for both?

  • Error adding printer to Bonjour

I am getting the error message "An error occurred when trying to add selected printer" when adding my HP PSC1200 connected to Airport Express via Bonjour. When I tried to add the printer manually in "System Preference" ->"Print and Fax", "Printer Browser" recognized the printer, but it could not pick up the correct printer driver under "Print Using" picklist.
This problem occurs only on my Intel-based iMac, my Powerbook G4 running OS X 10.4.3 had no problem working with the printer over Bonjour. Does the Intel iMac required different a driver?
    Steve

I am having the exact same problem with my OKIPAGE 8iM black and white printer. I have the latest print driver as shown on the OKI website installed but the Mac just wont print to it. I always get the message "An error occurred when trying to add selected printer"
My new DELL laptop running Windows XP prints straight to it using Bonjour for Windows so it cant be the old(ish) printer.
Also the Mac Keeps dropping the Airport signal (mainly after opening <Printer setup Utility> and getting the above meassage, BUT the Dell laptop still sees the ABS and continues to work fine on the Internet. So its just a Mac problem!
Come on any one else sorted this problm?

  • HP AIO 1315 Printer w/ Airport Express

Before I buy the Airport Express, is there ANYONE who has gotten this HP all in one to print wirelessly from a Macbook or ibook. If so, can you tell me how, & what drivers? Cups?
    Thanx, my Mac bros.!

    Hi Guys
I just stumbled across this post cause I've been troubleshooting problems with printing using a new AirPort Express and USB with my HP PSC 1350. I get the same error (9672) using the printer utility. After updating my HP software and print drivers to the latest versions and still no luck, I've been working with HP support on this, and they responded by saying that my 1350 is not designed to use USB printing on a network and that they recommend that I buy a new printer only one with Ethernet capability built in. They won't guarantee wireless USB printing on any of their products with Apple AirPort, even the ones that they advertise work.
I'm real frustrated by Apple's advertisements that if customers want to print wirelessly, just hook up a USB printer to your AirPort network and your all set. The fine print says to use a "compatible" printer, but what does that mean. So I bought an AirPort Express for the sole purpose of printing and I can't use it. I even went to the local Apple Store, and the clerks there told me that wireless printing using USB for the most part doesn't work and is not recommended.

  • Wireless printing through Airport Express stops after a few pages

I have a Canon MP780, which I tried hooking up to my Airport Express USB. Installation seemed to work smoothly with the Airport Utility, and it printed a test page just fine. However, when I printed a longer document, something kacked after a few pages (a communications error).
Hooking it up is a hassle (have to go through a wall to get to the AE/DSL modem setup), and I ripped it apart after upgrading the canon drivers to no avail. I'll try it again to get the exact error messages if there's more than a snowballs chance in hades that this might work, but thought I'd at least find out if it's hopeless or not before throwing more time at this.
    Any help's appreciated... many thanks.

There has been similar posts on this forum regarding wireless stability. A few have indicated that there printing was fine until the recent Airport Client Update 2009-002. If you check your System Prefs > Software Update > Installed Software list, have you also run this update?
