HT204150 Outlook contacts missing address info

Since I started using iCloud with MS Outlook 2010, I am having 2 specific problems:
1. Essential info in the address field is now missing from my outlook entries.  I have over 2500 entries in my contacts list, so I am really unsure how many contacts are affected.
2. There are multiple entries created for some often used contacts
I am sure many others would have faced similar problems.  Can anyone advise how to fix these issues.

Another issue is that the phone still has the info, but Outlook entry is missing it.  If I add the missing info to the Outlook entry, it duplicates that info on the phone entry.
I spent a lot of time cleaning up some of the important contacts in Outlook (a few hundred of them), and now find that the phone entries are all messed up.
What to do???

  • Moving outlook contacts to address book???

    Hi,
Can someone please explain to me, step by step, how to move my outlook contacts to address book? The instructions found in this article: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304721
    don't work at all.
I have downloaded the app from littlemachines.com, but in these steps, I cannot locate where my contacts are, and therefore I cannot export them.
I have a USB stick with my contacts on, but these are file format .msg and cannot be imported into address book.
    Please someone help me out.
Thanks! Any help is much appreciated.

Take a look here. Everyone, except me, seem to have great success with this.

  • Convert Outlook Contacts to Address Book - Help

I am trying to convert Outlook Contracts to Snow Leopard Mac Address Book. I have been successful in converting and importing all contacts, but contacts with multiple e-mail addresses in Outlook Contacts only imported one e-mail per contact. My source file that I am using to import into MAC Address Book is a vCard file. I created the vCard file two different ways. First I tried Sperry Softward Add-In for Outlook. Next I tried importing the Sperry Softward source file into Google G-Mail Contacts. It imported into G-Mail successfully (multiple emails per each contact sucessfully imported). I then exported from G-Mail to create a new source file and imported the new file into MAC Address Book. It again, did not work.
    Any thoughts? Thanks <D

  • Missing address info

Downloaded the May 17 security update and found all my address contacts missing after restarting the computer. Have tried renaming the user/library/application support/addresses as in a couple of discussions, but to no avail. Any other ideas? I do have a back up in iDisk, but am nervous about bringing it over.
I'm about to give up on downloading security updates. Seems everytime one comes out, somethings goes whacko. Not only did it mess up my address contacts, but also messed up my printer, too.

  • Q10 - Outlook contacts missing after software upgrade

    Hi there,
I have an executive at my company who upgraded to the Q10.  It started to freeze when she went to her calendar.  I rebooted the device, checked for software updates and upgraded using the latest available software release.  After that upgrade, all of her outlook contacts disappeared.  Is there a known issue as some forums tell you to delete social media connector and a few other steps.  Is this a known issue....is there a proper process to follow to get this resolved?  Thankfully, I'm still using the Bold 9900 and was going to upgrade to the Q10 but it seems that there are a lot of bugs still in the new release.

you should know that it is better to backup with the nokia pc suite. you are not the first who had this or similar problems after restoring a backup that was made by the phone itself.
you can only try to restore the backup again. i dont know if there is another way to get your contacts out of the backup-file.
you could also try to open the backup-file with a hex-editor on pc to search for the contacts. dont know if this could work
@at all: does a software exist to open such a backup-file on the pc? is it archived by a known software?Message Edited by okidal on 02-Sep-200712:00 AM

  • Need to fix downloading/formatting of Outlook contact info

I have a 3G Nano. I am familiar w/ the process to download contacts from Outlook on my PC to my Ipod using iTunes. The problem I'm having is that iTunes does a poor job of formatting the Contact info from Outlook once it is downloaded to my Ipod. For example, when I download contact info for a person for whom I have both a home and business address the business address info is displayed on my Ipod as a home address. There are other examples of misformatted info that is displayed on my Ipod but hopefully you get my point. The Contact info coming from Outlook on my Windows PC is correct but it is not being 'placed' into the correct categories once it is transferred and then displayed on my Ipod.
Is there a way in Itunes to alter the format or layout of the contacts shown on your Ipod? What is the hierarchy or order of the Contacts info downloaded from Outlook as determined by Itunes or Ipod software? Does Itunes or Apple provide any better functionality in terms of formatting contacts and allowing me to determine/edit the layout/appearance of my contact data from Outlook? If so, how?
I've been to a Genius Bar at an Apple store in San Diego and the person assisting me said that he couldn't find an answer. I have also scanned the user forums here on the Apple website and Ionmac.com for a solution to this specific question but I can't find an answer.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Mi camera is not working:
Both of my cameras stopped working
    Out of the blue.
    I have tried formatting it:
I have erased everything from the phone and I installed iOS again.
Then I sent it to an Apple authorized store. They identified the problem and told they couldn t fix it because the model I have cannot be fixed here in Brasil. Only in China.

  • I need help syncing my contacts between Outlook and iPhone using iTunes. I followed the steps given and ended up with just email addresses showing in my contacts even though I have phone numbers and snail mail in my Outlook Contacts. Using  Windows 7

I need help syncing my contacts between Outlook and iPhone using iTunes. I used the knowldge document and set it up to transfer my Outlook contacts to the iphone using itunes.
In contacts on the iphone I only see the email addresses.
Yet in Outlook I have email, snail mail and phone numbers.
I followed the knowledge document from iphone.
I did it once, didn't work so deleted all the contacts from the phone and tried again. Same result. I have a PC using Windows 7 64 bit.

You can't access an Exchange account via ActiveSync with the Address Book and iCal on your Mac.
You can access a MM account with Outlook on your PC at work and keep your MM email account server stored mailboxes synced between your PC at work, your iPhone, and the MM "cloud". Not sure about syncing MM contact info and calendar events with Outlook at the same time with an Exchange account.
This will not provide for syncing your Exchange account contact info and calendar events with the Addresss Book and iCal on your Mac because the accounts are separate.
You can access an Exchange account and a MM account at the same time with the iPhone's mail client, and sync contact info and calendar events over the air with both accounts at the same time. You can view combined contact info or separately for each account, and the same for calendar events.

  • Problems with outlook and address book contacts: my outlook contacts had around 3,000 entries. Outlook duplicated by itself and now outlook and address book have each over 340,000. What should I do?

Problems with outlook and address book contacts: my outlook contacts had around 3,000 entries. Outlook duplicated entries and have now 340,000. I reinstalled microsoft office and, thus, outlook, and reinstalled mac OS X system and applications. While I managed to delete outlook contacts so that I can re-sync with my blackberry, the contacts at Mac Address Book were not deleted and still have over 340,000 entries. I do not mind deleting all contacts since I have back up, but I have not been able to delete them. Also, when I go at Address Book and try to delete or merge duplicated entries, the system takes forever and never ends because of such large amount of entries. Worse, when I do so I run out of RAM memory.
My Macbook pro is just 2 months old.
What should I do? Is there a way to delete my Mac Address Book without having the problem above?
    Many thanks

  • How do I fix? Outlook contacts are scrambled/missing and all my contact groups in Outlook have been deleted.

  • How can transfer Mac Outlook Contact files to the MacPro Address book?

I tried the suggested three step process, ie, (1) Export Contacts from Outlook in txt formant, and (2) Open the txt file Excel and Save As in csv format, (3) Import the csv file into the MacPro Address book. However the Export from Outlook Contacts in txt results in a messed up file with data in random columns.  The Import into the Address book resulted in 21,000 plus entries (my Outlook Contacts had about 3000 plus).  Any solutions?

Mac Outlook exports files in a .olm format. What you need is an .olm to the Apple format converter - here's such a tool - https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/olm-converter-pro/id522796199?mt=12 = expensive but it gets pretty decent reviews.

  • HT2486 How do I import existing Outlook contact groups into Mac Address Book?

After months of problems with Microsoft Outlook 2011 for Mac, I am switching to Mac Mail. I seem to have successfully imported my individual contacts into Address Book. However, I have been unsuccessful in figuring out how to import group contacts into Mac Mail.
So far I have created .txt files, (a separate one for each group), listing each e-mail address in that group separated by a comma. Can I input this information into Address Book somehow? If not, how else can I import my groups into Address Book in a more efficient way than manually entering them? Manually dragging and dropping names into each new Address Book group is not an option, since I  have about 50 groups with 20-50 people in each of them. It would take me extraordinary amounts of time to do that, not to mention the frustration.
A second question: There are many duplicates listed in my address book. When I select Card>Look for Duplicates, it tells me that No duplicates are found. They most definitely exist, however. How can I erase them without having to manually delete each duplicate?

You can't transfer the groups, you'll need to do it the hard way.
As for the duplicates, how many accounts do you have in your Address Book?

  • Is it possible to export my outlook contacts to my macbook address book?

Hi! I am trying to export my outlook contacts to my MacBook address book, is it possible or should I type every contact again? thanks!

There is a 3rd party application called o2m that does this and I can vouch for the fact that it works - a client of mine was going crazy until we found and used it.
Outlook sure makes it difficult to export mail stuff, doesn't it?
    Best of luck.

  • Synchronizing Address Book with Outlook Contacts

Help please!  My 8120 Pearl will not synch with changes to my Outlook Contacts.  It seems to pick up a copy of my Contacts from a few months back each time I synch. Even if I clear my device address book from the device manager (backup and restore) and then re-synch it still doesn't pick up my up-to-date Contacts. Any advice please (for a not-very-savvy user)?  Thanks.

I have had a similar problem. I can't find "contacts cleaner" in versiontracker. Is this an iphone app?

  • Copying Outlook Contacts to Mac Address Book

I've searched through the forums and whilst this topic is raised quite a few times it hasn't really been answered.
I have got 3500+ contacts on my work PC in Outlook. I have installed Outlook for Mac 2011 on my new imac and I have the full contacts copied across into it.
However when I sync my iphone with my new imac I cannot sync the Contacts with Outlook as it doesn't give me that option.
The question is how do I copy my contacts into the mac Address book.
I have all the contacts saved as a PST file. I have also copied all the contacts individually as .MSG files. It would appear from previous questions that I need to save them as vcards which Outlook for Mac doesnt offer!
    Any top tips?
    Thanks

I've just had the same problem - after syncing my iPhone a couple of days ago I returned to find all my contacts (bar those added in the past couple of days) had gone...not the best time.
There didn't seem to be either any software that could do the job nor a way to export from Outlook 2011 to Address book (Lion) as iSync has now gone, nor a way to Export & Import other than via a CSV (text file) which would mean I'd lose all the associated photos,
That was until I worked out that
    Open Outlook 2011
Click on the Contacts button in the sidebar
Click [CMD] and A - to highlight all the contacts
on the top menu command 'Contact' click on 'Forward as vCard (cmd+J)
Email all your contacts to yourself as attached individual vCards attached to an email message.
Open up the email and save the attachments to a suitable directory on you computer (i.e. 'Outlook\backup\')
the next bit is so easy..
Drag and drop all the vCards into the LHS panel (you'll see a green dot with a white plus symbol in the centre) of the Address Book.
A few 'yes' answers to the questions regarding importing vCards and you've done.
    then
EXPORT the ADDRESS BOOK ARCHIVE TO A SUITABLE PLACE as a back-up!
    Hope this helps!!?

  • Outlook 2011 problem syncing contacts with address book

I am aware that Lion has broken the sync ability of Outlook 2011 with Address Book. Hopefullly this will be fixed at some point.
So my problem is that I have decided to use a workaround to get my Address Book contents into Outlook 2011. I am not concerned with further syncing at this point. I just want to get my addresses into Outlook and hope a better fix is offered at some point.
About the only way I could figure out how to do this was to export my Address Book as vCard. I then imported the vCard file into Gmail and then exported that as a CSV file. It contained 550 addresses. I opened it in Excel and it contained 550 rows. Great so far.
I then Imported into Outlook 2011 and chose import a text file. When the mapping window opened, it showed over 890 files instead of 550 and the fields were not mapped correctly. I could not complete the import because it was so screwed up.
So I'm back to square one and very frustrated. There must be others who have the same issue and maybe have figured out a way to do this. Please help.
