I bought an iphone 4s off ebay, and i cant unlock it because the previous owner got it second hand and that owner doesnt know the password. i have no way to contact that owner. I dont know how i am supposed to use the device because i cant get pass that. i didnt even know that it had this problem until i recieved it. What am i supposed to do?
Get a refund immediately.
You have probably been sold a previously stolen iPhone. It is Activation Locked as described here:
Find My iPhone Activation Lock - Apple Support
Without the original owner's Apple ID and password being used to unlock it, the iPhone will remain forever useless to you.

i bought my iphone 4 through ebay and its unlocked. the problem is that my phone does not sync straight away. I sync my music file through autofill. I want to sync ringtones but its not working.
I saw cidya aap so i m not sure if it was jailbroken or not before but it is back to normal settings.
My problem started when I tried to sync my music files. I pressed 'sync' all it says is waiting for sync start, preparing to sync and then waiting for the changes to be applied. but it does not sync at all.
I found a way to sync my music files through autofill but I really wanted to sync ringtones but its not syncing and I really wanted to put ringtones in my phone please help.If you see the cidya app, your iPhone is hacked with the cutsie term for this being jailbroken. This also means all the built in security has been removed making the iPhone as insecure as an android device.
Restore the iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the backup to get rid of that hacking garbage. If the iPhone has hacked to be unlocked, the iPhone will no longer be unlocked when doing so. -

Sorry, but your anger is 100% misdirected. Before Activation Lock, anyone could steal an iPhone (which happens every few minutes around the world), wipe it and set it up as their phone. How would you feel if your phone was stolen and you knew the thief could set it up?
Activation lock is just one of the great new features Apple has introduced in the last two years. You won't find a single person on this forum who thinks otherwise. If you live in California, ALL phones are going to be required to have a kill switch. ALL PHONES. That has been put in law by the California Legislature. Once activated, the kill switch will render that phone useless for all time.
If you have anyone you should be angry with it's ebay. They sold you a device you can't use and you need to return it to them and get a refund. Call them and complain until you reach someone who can fix this for you. You shouldn't be out $300. It's not your fault. But you can't be mad at Apple for what is clearly ebay's fault. -

You will have to call AppleCare and give them the model and serial number so they can advise who it is locked with. Then you will have to contact that cell provider and find out what their unlock process is, if there is a fee, and if you qualify. If it is locked to a company that does not have an unlock policy then you will not be able to unlock it.

I bought a used iPod on eBay and the previous owners apple ID is still showing up so how do I change it to my existing apple id I already have?
When I go to the apple store it works but if I go to apps to download something it only shows the previous owners apple ID and I don't know where to go to change it to mine.You would change it in settings.

I purchased am Iphone 4S from ebay. Sellers daughter restored Iphone but didnt remove password. He sent me the password but after entering it a few times after I had already previous tried passwords before I reached him now I have reached the disabled screen and now have the correct password but am unabke to use it due to disabled screen. It is not synced with my Itunes so I am not able to go that route. If anyone else has any other suggestions please lead me.
If you get locked out of your phone with an incorrect passcode, then the only way is to do a restore and for that you need to connect it to iTunes and that is it. No other way to go.

Get the account information from the person you bought it from. If they can't or won't give it to you, then return it for a refund. It's probably stolen. There is no way past activation lock.

Hi the thing is that iOS doesn't up...And if does it only shows up Chinese. I really want to change the language to English but there is yet another problem. Return it for a credit. Buying things like phones and computers on eBay is not a good idea. If the person refuses to refund your money, use the eBay appeal process since you were sold something that does not work.

I can't even toggle the wifi switch to the "on" position. what is wrong with this thing? its 32 gb I am only using 6 gb of it. its really slow sometimes and i haven't activated it with the carrier cause i don't have verizon. i was planning on unlocking it and going to virgin mobile. but now verizon said they won't do anything for me cause i am not a verizon customer and apple says that it is no longer under warranty and to just figure out whats wrong i have to pay $145 and activate it with verizon, which i know i can't afford. i already paid $175 for it. and if i decide to send it back i can't restore it back to factory settings because i can't get online to turn off find my phone. what should i do?
A Verizon iPhone 4 can not be used with any carrier other than Verizon. If you can return it for a refund, do so.

Ask eBay for a refund. If you can't contact the person who set the lock, you won't be able to get the device activated, and Apple won't unlock that device for you.
