HT204266 Is there a replacement for Adobe flash for ipad2?

I am trying to watch a video, which pops up from a website.

No Flash for iPads, iPhones, or iPods
Here's why there's is no Flash available for iDevices or other mobile devices. Adobe was unable to provide a product that was suitable to the needs of battery powered mobile devices used for Internet browsing. Existing Flash technology used too much memory, ate battery life, and was buggy. Simply put Flash did not work well on mobile devices.
Apple's Steve Jobs led the escape from Flash dependency when Apple introduced the iPhone, and later introduced the iPad. There was a hue and cry over the omission. Time proved Jobs was right on target.
So this is why there is no Flash for your iPhone or iPad or iPod nor for most SmartPhones. Flash has been abandoned by many sites in favor of supported technologies such as HTML5 or by providing their own custom app.
Here is Steve Jobs official comment on his momentous decision to omit Flash from iDevices: Steve Jobs on Flash.
Here is Adobe's later announcement to cease development of Flash for mobile devices: Adobe on Mobile Flash.
Now, you are not necessarily out on a limb. There are some apps that can display some Flash, but don't count on there ability to display anything using Flash.
Apps that can display some Flash from the Web:
Puffin
SkyFire
Photon Flash
Browse2Go
iSwifter
Also, note that many sites that use Flash provide their own app for accessing their material. So check with your favorite sites and find out if "there's an app for that."

  • IS THERE A REPLACEMENT FORR ADOBE FLASH PLAYER

IS THERE A REPLACEMENT FOR THE ADOBE FLASH PLAYER

I wish someone would come up with an answer to the PPC mac - Flashplayer problem.
I am amazed Adobe and Apple have dropped support for all us PPC users.
I live in Spain and have just subscribed to a site which provides access to BBC iPlayer and ITV player but the problem with an out of date FlashPlayer rears it's ugly head yet again!
I have tried the FPforFBPPC plug-in which does help with playing vids in facebook but it doesn't work with ITV player. BBC iPlayer doesn't seem to use flash at all.
My PPC G5 mac is in good order and looks fab. Why should I be forced to throw it on the rubbish heap to satisfy Adobe and Apple? Hardly a 'green' move is it? I'm just so ****** off with it. Sorry. Rant over! ;-)

  • Is there a product like adobe flash that's for my iPad?

Is there a product like adobe flash that's for my iPad?

Not that I'm aware of unfortunately. Also Flash isn't as popular as it once was, especially with the advent of HTML 5.  If in doubt try a Google search for 'alternative to flash for iPad' there are a few results by the looks of things.
    Regards.

  • Is there an alternative to adobe flash player for the iPad?

Is there an alternative to adobe flash player for the ipad2?

No - flash is not supported, and probably never will be (http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/ and Adobe havn't created a version that works on iOS anyway).
Browsers such as Skyfire, iSwifter, and Puffin 'work' on some sites, but not all judging by the reviews. You might also find that some sites (especially news sites) have their own apps on the app store which let you get some of the content that you want.

    Hello Pepperbrewer,
While there's no way to get flash on your iPad and probably never will be, you can use several things to help you access some flash products.
    1) Skyfire for the iPad is a web browser that will convert flash videos and allow you to play them on the iPad.  Simply purchase it from the App Store and then you can use it instead of Safari when you want to view flash videos.
    2) SplashTop for iPad will allow you to remote control your desktop or laptop computer and use it from the iPad.  You basically install the SplashTop software on your computer, set it up, then load SplashTop on your iPad and it will allow you to use the computer from your iPad -- that means you can do anything your computer can do.
I'm guessing in your situation Skyfire will be the best option for you.
Fortunately the popularity of the iPad/iPhone/iPod is forcing a lot of major sites to use non-flash options, so in the next few years we may not care that flash isn't available.
Adobe is also working on a lot of tools, and have some available now, that will help sites switch away from Flash to use HTML5 instead.
Lastly, you're welcome to follow the other suggestions and find a buyer for your iPad 2. If you do choose to do that, I would recommend you spin the product positively, as you will get much less money for it if you let your frustration bleed off on the new buyer.

You are speculating about Apple policies which is prohibited by the Terms of Use of these forums. I can "fathom" several other reasons.

  • Is there a replacement for CS6 coming out soon and what will it be called

Is there a replacement coming out for CS 6 and what will it be called

Adobe still sells CS6 (for now anyway).
    http://www.adobe.com/products/catalog/cs6._sl_id-contentfilter_sl_catalog_sl_software_sl_c reativesuite6.html
Click the Buy button then I want to buy: Upgrade. Then complete your purchase.
However, the days of upgrading every other version are gone. Before Adobe released the Cloud, starting with CS6, they amended the upgrade policy and were requiring upgrades with every version.
But that all disappeared soon after when Adobe chose to discontinue perpetually licensed versions altogether last year and go 100% Cloud (subscription) only when they launched CC. They're still selling CS6 for those who insist on it but it'll no doubt disappear over time and there will be no CS7 perpetually licensed version.
The future in Adobe's eyes without doubt is the Cloud, requiring monthly payments and automated periodic license checks on Adobe servers via the internet.

  • What can I use to see sports on itv? Is there a substitute to Adobe Flash player?

I am unable to watch ITV Sports because it will not allow Adobe Flash player. Is there an alternative player?

If a site is written using flash then unless they've written a non-flash version, no. Apps such as Skyfire claim to support flash, but their reviews are mixed. Also a number of websites (especially news sites) have their own apps in the App Store so you could check if they've got an app.

  • Adobe Flash player now demands installation of McAfee Security Scan, is there an alternative to Adobe Flash player?

I do not want ant McAfee products installed on my system but now it seems that Adobe Flash player goes hand in hand with McAfee Security Scan, you can't have one without the other. What on earth are Adobe up to and are there any other options? Thank you.

You can download without mcaffe, jus uncheck the '''Optional offer'''

When I navigate to the Applications/Utiilities folder, and attempt to open the AppleScript editor I get an error popup with:
The document "AppleScript Editor.app" could not be opened.
Has AppleScript gone away, or is my OS Installation broken?

Ok, so it's broken.  Any idea how to un-break it?  For example, is there Installation Media for Mavericks that I can burn and attempt a re-install with?

    Your installation is broken.

  • Is there an alternative to adobe flash player

talking to admin would be good, getting an answer would be good,

For Flash content (SWF or FLV), there is no alternative.
Web designers are switching to HTML5 video, (MP4) which uses no plug-in, but for "legacy" content, end users will still require Flash Player.

  • Is there a replacement for Lazarus (form recovery extension for Safari)?

I used to use Lazarus to save form content (e.g., when a poorly designed site's page validation flushes all the content after finding something to nitpick).  After upgrading to Mavericks a few weeks ago, I noticed that Lazarus was no longer working.  The developers site (http://getlazarus.com ) is still active (though the "contact us" form fails to accept any submissions), but there doesn't appear to have been an update to the extension for over a year.
Is there any other extension/trick for saving Safari form content (and repopulating it when returning to a form/field)?

I, too, was sad to see Lazarus break.  It appears the developers abandoned it, and certainly aren't paying attention to Safari usage.
I've found this to be a passable alternative:  http://userscripts-mirror.org/scripts/show/42879
This can be installed via any Safari extension that can inject userscripts into webpages, like the old "NinjaKit" or the new "Javascript Blocker."
