How can i fix my itunes account, it wont let me update anything because it keeps on asking for the security code, but it keeps saying its wrong.. what should i do ?

The message is a catch-all for any sort of anomaly with your payment information.
Log in to your account in iTunes. Make sure your name and address match exactly including ZIP code and punctuation. Verify it against a bank statement.
You must obviously be using a valid credit (not debit) card.

try to remove and readd your creit card then if this won't work, contat your bank that's the best solution or contact iTunes support, probably you have a problem on your account

The credit card security code is a unique three or four digit number printed on the front (American Express) or back (Visa/MasterCard) of your card.

When I tried to log into my itunes account, I was asked to update my credit card information. When I confirmed my credit card info, I got a response about my security code not being accurate -which is not the case-it is 100% accurate. How do I fix?

If it is trying to verify your payment info, I would be willing to guess that it is looking for the security code for your credit card. Did you credit card just get replaced lately or the expiration date change? When is the last time that you updated your payment information in iTunes?

HT1918 Hi, I changed my address in bank first, then itunes and now even when I want to dowload free apps or updates it asks me for validation of payment and security code but, Everything matches my info and the system DOES NOT TAKE IT, what can i do?

It is very frustrating even to receive an email from itunes support telling me: well, if your code or card are not working call your bank, which I did and everything is fine, it matches with existing acct in itunes...
then I tried and tried and time after time I keep getting the same stupid answer "invalid security code"
I am tired of it!
And then I contacted support just for an idiotic answer: well, use an itune gift card then.... Come on! Are they really not goint to do anything to help me and restore my info in the itunes acct?????

I'm also on iPhone 4, iOS 6, and have exactly the same problem. I've tried resetting privacy settings, turning restrictions on and off, deleting and reinstalling apps. Nothing seems to work. The lists of apps in privacy settings are all empty, except for location services. When using Tweetbot the app is regularly asking for permission to access my twitter account, but even when I allow that, the app doesn't show in privacy settings.

I have a bunch of free apps when I had my ipad 1 now I have 2 and my credit card will not be read as authentic Watson ever I tried my girls card nothing do I need to have money on it for a free download? I even bought a couple of games but why with so many free ones? Please help me I'm slow so walkit through with me thnx also my ipad 2 is brand new out da box and I accidentally updated to 6.0 without finding out first about it so some pointers to it would help ...which I think that it has something to do with it.

Is the address on your iTunes account exactly the same (format and spacing etc) as on your credit card bill : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1646 ? If it is then you could try what it says at the bottom of that page :
If the issue persists, contact your credit card company and verify that they and any company they use to process credit card authorisations have the correct information on file.

Why is my iTunes account telling me my "security code is invalid" when it's not?

I can't update any of my apps or buy anything from iTunes because my account says I have a billing problem. It asks me for my security code in the billing information and when I put it in it tells me "security code invalid". There is definitely money on the account I'm using so I know it's not that. It's annoying when you can't update anything and it's been over a week since I could use that account. What do I do?

If the total purchase price of the media including any applicable taxes or fees exceeds the balance of the redeemed card, then the difference is charged to your debit or credit card account.

ITunes recently decided my debit card's security code in invalid. But nothing is wrong with the code or my card. how do I fix this? Apple support doesn't have a clue what they are doing and will not call me to fix this.

My bank sent me a new Debit card because of some security issue. It has the same number as my previous card but new experation and new security code. It worked fine for months then all of a sudden Itunes decided the security code is invalid. Now I can't even update my phone.

Okay so I just got an iPhone 5. My first iPhone. In the past I've had two different iPods, an iPod Touch 3rd Generation, and an iPad 2.
I only have 87 cents in my bank account so I paid cash for a $15 iTunes card so I could get some applications on my new iPhone 5. I realize that iTunes won't let me download updates or buy new applications when my bank account has a low or insufficient balance, so it will ask to verify the code on the back of the card. After entering the code, it says to please enter valid information. The information is valid, but won't be accepted because it has a low balance.
I tried selecting "None" as my payment options to see if that would allow me to make purchases using the $15 balance I just redeemed from the iTunes card. It doesn't seem to help the situation.
I went to contact Apple, but I had to schedule a call (this is the first time I've ever had to contact support for a problem - ever). I also sent in an email hoping I would get a response sooner. I want to play with my phone now, not in a few days when they can finally call me back...
While trying to figure out a solution to this, I ran into a couple of security questions that aren't even mine... They can't be because I don't have an answer for them. These security codes are not mine. I tried putting in an answer and it didn't work - obviously, because the questions don't apply to me. What the heck is going on Apple? I've never had so much trouble with your services before.

Look, I understand I still need a card attached to the account. The problem is, it won't accept my card because I only have 87 cents in my bank account right now.
If I had known there would be so much trouble with the iTunes card, I would have just put the cash in my bank account in the morning instead of buying an iTunes card (I didn't expect the banks to be open on Thanksgiving of course).
Apple will only accept cards that have a balance. The balance is so small in my account that it won't accept it as a valid card.
I'm going to have to contact Apple anyway to reset the security questions. That's obvious. Your answers were not exactly helpful. You didn't tell me anything I don't already know, but thanks for trying to be helpful.
