How can I get amazon prime video streaming to work on Apple TV

Speak to Amazon, their app does not support it.  It is not an issue the user can fix.  You can mirror if you have the capabiklity though.

    The answer is subjective depending on your view point.
    Amazon prime has very little value accept for it's supposedly free movie service, so what you are really paying for is essentially a very similar service to NetFlix at a slightly higher cost, the Apple TV offers NetFlix and has a premium movie service in iTunes which most people would require in addition to NetFlix or Amazon. A hardware solution seems somewhat over the top to me.

    The whole reason I bought the Apple TV was to be able to stream from my ipad and my macpro to TV my Amazon Prime free movies. Now it looks like this is blocked. This seems outrageous.     Not sure if an app will be realeased, but you can stream Amazon Instant Videos from your computer to your Apple TV.

    I have a Prime account with Amazon.  I've been watching some shows the past week with no problem through my 4S running 7.1.  Last night the connection to Apple TV kept dropping.  It must have happened at least six to eight times for no reason at all.  The Comcast wireless modem is in the TV room so I couldn't be any closer.  In a related situation, I started watching a video on an app I have and it would play on the phone but when I clicked 'Apple TV' to broadcast it, the gear simply stayed spinning and would never display on the TV.  I had to watch the video on YouTube with no problem.
    Any thoughts as to why?  And how to fix either issue?  The Amazon Prime issue takes priority over the two.

    I get the audio fine, but no picture when using AirPlay for Amazon Instant Video from iPhone or iPad. It worked before. I have AirPort Extreme and great connectivity.

    The app likely does not support AirPlay... contact Amazon and find out.

    There is no Amazon Prime app.
    It is possible with an iOS device and the latest version of the Amazon Instant Video app to share the content to the ATV via AirPlay.

    Providing you have a free HDMI port on the TV and the location you would put the Apple TV will allow it to connect to your network, you should be good to go.

    Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
    Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
    Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
    Restart your router.
    Reset the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings)
    Restore the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Restore)

    Websites and third party Apps need enabling before they will allow AirPlay of Video content. Some Website/App developers have not enabled their products, some simply haven't got around to it yet, others have stated that they won't be enabling AirPlay (likely as a result of licensing issues).
    Amazon have blocked both basic AirPlay and mirroring.
