HT204291 Apple TV (3rd) to iPad 4 Air Play Connection issues
When I come home and want to connect my iPad to my Apple TV via Air Play I have to turn the iPad COMPLETELY OFF and then back on again, is there an easier way to have them recognize each other? They are on the same network. they both get internet just fine (netflix runs) they just won't talk to each other.
Sounds like an issue with the local network. Make sure router is up to date. I assume iPad and ATV are on latest firmware. Placement of router in relation to ATV can also be factor.

Do you have OS x 10.8 Mountain Lion, any earlier OS such as Lion will NOT mirror. It is not an update it is a purchase from the app store.
Third party apps such as airparrot or reflectorapp can help too.

Hello All,
There are Mac Mini 2012 with OS X 10.8.2 and Apple TV 3rd G with 5.2 (6010.96). There are 2 users on the Mac.
The problem is when I start Mac Mini and log on with one user I am able to mirror the desktop. When I switch to another user and try to mirrow the desktop, I see bad image (image full of green artifacts) with good sound.
One user is admin. It does not matter which user is sharing the screen first. It is always the second one that will not be able to mirror the screen till Mac Mini is rebooted.
At the same time if I try to airplay something from iPhone or iPad, it goes well.
Please help to solve the problem.

Hi I have an iPad 2 with iOS 5.1 and an apple tv 2 generation. Yesterday I have download the app"premium play" but when I lunch the air play I can listen only the sound because my Tv's screen is black. I have tried also with air play mirroring but the result is the same.
What I can do for listen the sound and watch also the movie?
ThanksI went to the App Store to check and see if there were user complaints (always a good place to start) and couldn't even find the App.
You should be aware that some apps list themselves as supporting AirPlay when they only really support audio.
If standard tshooting doesn't work, check the App Store for user comments, and links to Devs web support. -

On both a MacBook Pro, an Acer laptop and my Mac Tower. I would love to think that it is a problem with the playback system, and that if I merely send the file off to the duplicator they won't have the same problem. Maybe that is the case...I don't know if I have a choice rather than sending it off to see. Of course, but in the case there is no more 'original project.' It is gone like the wind, stolen along with his computer and backups.
I think I am stuck using one of two files as my master: a DVD he burned where I only see the stutter/vibration/jitter once, or the mpeg2 file where I see it three times. Hopefully, the duplication house can rip if off of one of them and not see the jitter. I know that in audio, my personal filed, you can do a lot to enhance already existing sound--EQ, compression, tape saturation emulation software, etc. I guess I'm hoping there is some kind of analog to the video world that address jitter after a source has been printed--if indeed the source has been printed to be jittery.

IPad 2 is having connectivity issues since I updated to 8.0.2
My IPad 2 had connectivity for about 6 hours after I downloaded 8.0.2 last Saturday. Sunday morning I was back to NO SERVICE in the upper left hand corner. Yesterday I went to the Apple Store and they showed me how to reset the cellular data, and again I had my 3G back for 6 hours. Last night and again today we were back to NO SERVICE. Again I went to the Apple Store and they explained that there were a few phone models that were having cellular connectivity issues, but not IPads. Well, that's bunk, since I see the complaints that are exactly like mine all over the web. The Apple Store wiped my IPad clean and told me that if this is a software issue this should fix the problem. If this is a hardware issue then I will need to buy a new IPad.
Apple needs to own up to the problems that it caused with our devices. AT LEAST, we should be able to take the updates off of our IPads and go back to 7.0.

HT204291 apple tv update and iPad update to iOS 8.2 broke airplay
First I updated my iPad (2) to iOS 8.2. When I noticed that movies did NOT play from iBooks.
I checked for an Apple TV update. There is one today, so I did that. Now there is NO AIRPLAY option on the iPad!
Am I missing some new setting or did Apple break AirPlay?between restarting my ipad and restarting my apple tv, it's working again. However, movies in iBooks are still broken!

Apple prevents 3rd Gen iPads from using Continuity/Handoff, WHY?
Hours I spent trying to figure out why this EASY to use INSTANT feature that had me incredibly excited and thrilled to be an Apple customer would not work.

Ipad 1 (original) - usb connection issues
I have an Ipad 1 (original). It connected to my computer fine back in February but when I connected it yesterday it says, usb device not recognised.
I have tried 3 computers and several cables - same response.
Is there anyway it will connect to the computer again so that I can get access to Itunes to load more shows. This ipad is for my daighter so she can watch shows on the car.
USB says unknown device but says that the driver is installed even though it does not recognise it as the Ipad driver.
Have done the whole turn the computer off and unplug it to reboot usb drives and nothing.
Is there a kill switch that activates once Apple no support a device so that you can no longer use it?
Ipad software is up-to-date but is probably way behind that of Itunes - is that why it won't connect?

MacBook Air WiFi Connectivity Issue
I bought a MacBook Air 13" yesterday and I've noticed that my WiFi keeps dropping out. The WiFi icon in the menubar says it's connected and network in sys prefs says so too. But no pages will load and I can't ping anything. I have to turn WiFi off and back on for it to work. I've noticed it also does this with my iMac (mid 2011). On my old 2011 MacBook Pro 13" I never had this issue.
Does anyone have any solutions or should I just take it to Apple?Not an issue with my router. Works fine on all my other devices, and I had the same issue earlier today at a different location using a different network.

Ipad 1 and iTouch connection issues

I have just brought my first Mac (iMac) and I am slowly getting used to it, everything positive so far...except! I have an old iPad 1 that my son uses for his speech therapy and an old itouch (orginal itouch), when I try to connectthem to the new iMac they cannot connect, the screen on both just flashes, trying to connect and charge but without success. They connected perfectly on my Windows PC before I tried to move to the Mac.
Any ideas anyone please!

GNo it's not jailbroken. I will never do that to any of my devices. I am talking about memory. I have plenty of storage. Just tired of apps crashing back to the home screen.

Macbook Air Internet Connectivity Issues.
Since I updated my mid 2011 Macbook Air to OS X 10.7.4, it will not connect to the internet when it awakes from sleep and often the wifi will have to be switched off and then on again, any suggestions on how to fix this issue? Extra Info - My Internet provider is BT and I have the fibre optic service, using the BT Home Hub 3.

This has been discussed a lot in this forum - so such for more info.
In short, I have same setup as you & its not the BT service or Hub etc....
What worked for me is to 'switch off' Bluetooth; with Bluetooth off it connect fine & is instant on resume.
If I swich Bluetooth on - my internet will not auto reconnect, I have to select from list...
(I have tested this on friends networks & diferent routers, so its a s/w issue - someon in this forum confirmed its fixed in Mountain Lion - so, I am wating in hope).

Hello, so i resently upgraded to mountain lion and wanted to try out airplay mirroring on my apple tv (mid 2012 macbook pro, same with the apple tv) but when i click the airplay button my apple tv screen just goes black. at first i thought it might be a sizing issue but that wasn't it. now airplay works on itunes so i know it is some faulty think with either device. anyone else having this problem? or anyone have any advice?
alright i am hoping i just worded everything wrong and some one knows how to fix this, so here it goes.
my macbook pro and apple TV were both bought early July and both are running the most resent OS. they are also connected to the same wi-fi. but when i try to enable airplay mirroring on the menu bar my TV (which had the apple TV menu on it) goes black so i know they are connecting on some level, even my computers audio is being played through the TV's speakers but no picture just a black screen. i have also tried seeing if it my tv just couldn't handle airplay mirroring or something but i can airplay movies from itunes onto my apple TV just fine and everything works also my iphone can airplay to my TV if that is any useful info. IDK everything on both computers seems to be working just fine in every other way but this one (sadly this feature was the main reason i upgraded OS on my macbook)
so if anyone know of something i should try please help me out!! -
