HT204291 Can't get video signal just audio when streaming from my iPhone

Has anyone at this community has heard of this? If yes please reply if you have a solution.

Since New Years Eve, I have spent  nearly 15 hours with senior support advisors on this issue. Trust me, I've tried everything. Once it downloads on Apple TV all I get is AUDIO. The trailer will play fine, all the other apps on Apple TV play fine. The only thing I'm having trouble with is movies RENTED FROM ITUNES ON APPLE TV and MOVIES RENTED ON ANY IOS device. Not just mine, I've tried using my Apple ID on other people IOS devices but the movies download but won't start. I have one purchased movie that will play fine on any platform, but not rented movies.
There are no error messages, all setting have need restored, reset, and reset again by THREE senior advosors. I don't know how to explain it any cleatee than
this.. sorry to be short, but I don't see any Apple tech people making any type of effort to remedy the problem.

  • Prior to installing iOS 6 on my iPhone 4, I could stream video and audio via "Air Video" and "Stream to Me" from my PC, to my TV via a HDMI adapter. Now I can only get video and no audio.

I have been able to stream, via wi-fi, TV shows, movies and music from my laptop through a HDMI adapter via my iPhone 4, to my television. I use mainly "Air Video" but also use "Stream to Me", both with the same results. Since the update to iOS6 this is not possible. I can still get video but now no audio. Help me!

I too am having this very problem.  I have an iPhone 4S that is less than one year old.  Prior to updating my iOS firmware, I was able to record and transfer video to my PC and view it with a variety of programs without any modifications.  Since updating the firmware, all videos that have been taken are not viewable on my PC.  I can hear the audio associated with the video, but the video is blank.  I can transfer the file off my phone using the Windows transfer tool.  Then sync the video back to my phone and it works just fine.  I tried emailing the video to myself, that did not work.  I rebooted my computer, no luck.  I reinstalled QuickTime, still isn't working.  I can still watch the videos that were made with iOS 5.1.1 but nothing made with iOS 6.
I have been successful with the following procedure:  Once the video is transfered from the phone to my PC, I change the extension from .MOV to .MPG and this makes the video viewable with Windows Media Player; however, if the video is shot in a portrait orientation, it displays sideways in WMP as a landscape orientation.  I have been able to then run the video through Microsofts MovieMaker program to right the video 90 degrees but the image comes out a little squatty like it's out of scale.  In either case, it serves the purpose and I can export it to another .MPG format that I can then run through Sony Vegas and edit as I see fit.  While it works, this is a huge hassle and I shouldn't have to do it.
Does anyone know of anything that is working?  Are there new codecs somewhere that windows users need to get a hold of?

  • Can't get video to show up when Export Media

Not sure what kind of noobie mistake I'm making, but when I try to Export a clip to video in Premiere Pro CS4, (via File>Export>Media>and then selecting flv or h264), I'm not getting any video output.  The audio comes across fine, but the screen is blank in all of the players I've tried (Flash, Quicktime, Adobe Media Player).  I've had both the audio and video layers selected when clicking File>Export>Media, and there was an eyeball in the video layer for visibility.
Not sure if this relates to the problem, but the 2nd display in my Premiere Program (not the Source Window but the ?Sequence window I guess) is black at rest.  If I click play, I can see the video and hear audio, but as soon as I stop the play, that window goes back to black (as opposed to displaying the current frame the movie is on).
I've tried changing all the parameters I could think of, but none of that has fixed things.  So any help would be appreciated.

    Bill,
    Thanks for the help.
Unfortunately it doesn't seem that simple.  I had both the Audio and Video boxes checked for export, and had something selected in the Multiplexer tab as well (those values varied since I've tried exporting in a few different formats).
I'm going to close Premiere and just make a very simple project and see what happens with export.
Any other ideas on what I might be doing wrong?

  • Can't find videos which were uploaded via iCloud from my iPhone to my IPad

I am new.  I uploaded some photos and videos via iCloud from my iPhone to my IPad , but can't find the videos, but the pictures were there.

You need a third-party app to do so, like this:
    https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bluetooth-u-share-files-photo/id526268815?mt=8
There are a number of apps in the app store like this.

  • Video but no audio when exporting from iPhoto

I have very small (30 sec) clips of video from a digital camera downloaded into iPhoto. When I export or share a clip to QuickTimePro 7, iMovie, my desktop, or e-mail the video goes, but no audio. I have tried so many different ways, I can't even remember what I've done. Can anyone help? I'm at my wits end, and it's a video of my baby laughing for the first time and I want to send it to everyone!!!

With the video open in the QuickTime Player, choose Show Movie Properties from the Window menu, click on the Resources tab, control-click on the entry which contains the file's location on your computer, and choose Show in Finder from the menu which appears. Once the file has been located, download MPEG Streamclip and use it to convert the file; save the converted file on the desktop.

  • Can u convert a video into just audio?

can u convert a video into just audio so i can play it on my nano

    Hi,
    thanks Stefan Maric and wew64.
in the RTPSocketAdapter.java of the 'Implementing Custom Data Sources and Media Handlers' example I can take the groups of bytes previous to they where send for UDP.
My Idea its take this bytes, make groups of 259 bytes and send them over the ISDN. In the Clients side recover this information and make groups with the original size (that I must send with the video information over my ISDN connection) and send them with UDP to the same host and receive with a regular JMF application.
I am not sure if I will have problems with the synchronize of the video and audio doing this process, any idea??
    Thanks a lot

  • I can't get a video signal on my LG amplifier from my Apple TV

I can't get a video signal on my LG amplifier from my Apple TV

You'll need to provide a bit more information, the amplifier only passes video to a connected TV.

  • Can't get video on TV

I just recently bought a tape deck and I'm trying to get video on my TV when I'm working on a sequence in FCP. When I capture, the video shows up on the TV but after that I get nothing. What settings does FCP have to be on in order to have video going out from the tape deck to the TV while I'm working on a sequence.

Were you even connected to the internet when you searched??
Here's what a search for "external" in this forum yielded: http://discussions.apple.com/search.jspa?objID=f939&search=Go&q=external
That's over 10 pages of possible answers to your question just on this site alone and you didn't even get one? Check your internet connection.
Also, this page contains answers to many FAQs (Thanks to Shane): http://proapptips.com/tips/faqman/index.php
From that page is Shane Stock Answer #8:
    Shane's Stock Answer #8:
If for some reason you can't view your timeline on your external monitor, there are a few things to try:
    1) Make sure that the camera/deck is connected and powered on BEFORE you open FCP.
    2) In the FILE menu select AUDIO/VIDEO Preferences and make sure your signal is being sent out thru Firewire DV.
    3) Go to the menu and select VIEW>EXTERNAL>ALL FRAMES.
    4) Go to VIEW->refresh A/V devices
    5) Make sure the Log & Capture window is closed
    6) Cycle power to the deck or camcorder
    7) Shut down the Mac and then restart (couple this with cycling power to the deck or camcorder)
If you want it to play in both the canvas and the external monitor you need to go to the FINAL CUT PRO menu and select AUDIO/VIDIO settings and make sure MIRROR ON DESKTOP is selected under the PLAYBACK OUTPUT section<<

  • STILL can't get Videos into 5G iPod I give up I'm bringing it back

I have the Black 30GB, after a week of trying iSquint , Handbrake ,Movies for my iPod and now MPEG Streamclip I still can't get videos in my iPod . I give up, it's scratched to bits and I handle it with extreme care . This was the worst $300.00 I've ever spent .

I had trouble with that too, but figured it out. Here are some things to check:
1.) Preferences in iTunes with the iPod connected. I put mine on automatic update of all podcasts, just to make sure nothing is missed.
2.) On the iPod, go to Settings > Main Menu > Videos > On
3.) On the iPod, got to Videos > Video Settings > TV Out OFF, Widescreen OFF, TV Signal (in US is NTSC, in Europe is PAL).
After I configured #3, all worked. I'm not sure the widescreen setting makes a difference, but I do know the TV settings do.
I think you won't have any problems if you go down this checklist. Too bad they don't mention it in Apple support.

    Hi,
    This pic is from a 3347 http://flickr.com/photos/90943061@N00/2325073038/
If you have a similar firewall setting in the 3346 then set it to Off.
    Just so I am clear.
You can log on to the AIM servers and Text chat ?
You get the pop up Log thing in Video or Audio Only chats ?
The Written message on the failed chat window is "Can't Get Video from Camera" ?
You have an External iSight Camera.
On what OS and computer was the iSight last used ?
Has it had a Firmware update ?
(this may have been missed plugging straight into Leopard.)

  • Can't get video chat to work outside of LAN...

    Hello,
I can't get video chat to work.
All computers, LAN and WAN are running the latest iChat under 10.4 (including latest updates).
Within our LAN, via Bonjour, everything is fine.
I'm now trying to set up an offsite Intel iMac (10.4) and I can't connect via video chat with them.
I've had this problem in the past and eventually gave up (so much for "it just works" - I've spent the last 10+ years dealing with Macs and Mac-based networking, I can't imagine "my dad" figuring this all out). Trying again with fingers crossed...?
If someone could help, it'd be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Kristin.
The studio router/firewall is a SonicWall TZ 170 Standard.
This router has a static IP.
All suggested ports on the SonicWall are set up correctly to allow in/out from our LAN.
All computers on the LAN have static IP addresses.
Quicktime streaming settings set as suggested.
OS X Firewall on all computers = OFF.
No iChat add-ons on any computers.
    Internet connection speed = 7404 kb/s
    The offside router/firewall is a LinkSys WRT54G
This router does not have a static IP.
DMZ is ON and set to the only computer connected to it.
Computer has a static IP address.
Quicktime streaming settings set as suggested.
OS X Firewall on all computers = OFF.
    No iChat add-ons on computer.
    Internet connection speed = 5116 kb/s
If any more information is required to help you help me, just let me know!

Does the TZ170 have UPnP or Port Triggering then ?
I can not see that it does here
Opening the ports in the manner listed on that link will only allow one computer (IP) to use the open ports.
The Linksys is router and you have not mentioned what the modem is doing at that end.
Why not use UPnP here ? The Linksys does it (on the Administration page)
Most likely this needs the Respond to Anonymous Pings checked on the Security page.

  • My roommates' computers can't get a signal from my Airport base station

I just bought a used Airport Extreme (the round one) off Craig's List and set up a network in my apartment using Airport Utility on my MacBook. I've set it up with WPA, and I can connect to it. Works great....
Until my roommates try to connect from their computers. One is on a ~5 year-old iMac and the other is on a Thinkpad. Their machines can see the SSID but can't get a signal from it or connect to it. I've tried removing the password and unsecuring the network. I've tried resetting the router entirely and reconfiguring. Same story.
I know this is an Apple issue because their machines can connect just fine to our previous crappy router that was slowing down our connection (that was meant to be replaced by the shiny new (used) Airport). I've looked into the WEP / hex key issue mentioned on some forums (eg http://www.macwindows.com/airportpc.html#011408b), but I don't think that Apple/PC compatibility is the issue because one of their machines is an iMac.
    Help?

Hello amandalotti. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
Per chance, do you have Access Controls enabled? (ref: AirPort Utility > Manual Setup > AirPort > Access tab) If so, disable it.
If not, I suggest performing a "factory default" reset on the base station to get it back to its original "out-of-the-box" configuration to see if this will help.
