  • Cannot install "iTunes Movie Trailers App" on new iPad

    Hello all,
I just got the new iPad (3rd Gen.).
I am trying to install the iTunes Movie Trailer App (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/itunes-movie-trailers/id471966214?mt=8)
For some reason, after clicking the install icon, I get an error Pop-up screen that says "Action could not be completed".
I have installed plenty of other Apps with no issues at all.
Is this App only for U.S.  users (I am from Canada)?
I suspect it is something like this because my son also cannot install this App on his iPod touch.
    Any ideas?
    Christian

I am actually seing it in Canada.
Nevertheless, it should be able to say "Not available in your region" before I even get the possibility to download.
Like for example, if I go on the MTV website, I cannot view their videos, they give a proper message.
For sure they would be able to do the same in a more user-friendly message.
Another good example, go see this App for the BBC, first thing they say: Exclusive to the UK.

Simple, one line says it all.

  • ITunes Movie Trailers App for Australians

I loved Frontrow on my mac.. and when i updated to Lion I lost it... I always go to the Itunes trailer area on itunes... I saw this app yesterday and thought awesome.......
but guesswhat..... it's like most things ..... Australia is the forgotten ugly duckling.... Books and tv shows and movies which I could buy from the US Itunes store arent availbale here in australia...
    what a joke...
Its a digital world apple.. and we speak english down here... what ever is available in the  US should be available here
    grrrrrr
hopefully someone will agree with me ... try downloading I am number 4 book from Ibooks... in the US 100% ok here in Australia nope..
How can I get iTunes Movie Trailers?
iTunes Movie Trailers is available in the App Store.
In which countries is iTunes Movie Trailers available?
iTunes Movie Trailers is only available in the United States.
    what the??????

I feel your frustration.  However, this is not Apple's fault, but rather the owners of the rights to TV, Movies, Trailers, Books and so on.  Until a deal is negotated Apple just can't release that stuff world wide.  The same has happened in Canada and the UK (where thye speak English also).
In a similar way the BBC iPlayer app can't be used outside the UK.

  • All of a sudden my iTunes Movie trailers don't work

I was wondering if someone can help me I am slowly going insane, last week my
iTunes movie trailers was working beautifully, but this week when I press play
the screen just dims and the trailer will not play, any help would be greatly
    appreciated

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

How do I view the contents of my iPad in Mountain Lion?

DiskAid needn't cost anything depending on what you want to do - I've been using it for months without being hindered by using the free version.  You do need the up to date version for use on Mountain Lion though...
Comparison between free and paid versions can be found at http://www.digidna.net/diskaid/buy .

  • View iTunes movies on Apple TV, no active Internet connection.

How can I view my iTunes movies on my Apple TV with no Internet connection? I have set up a local wireless network using an Airport Express that has my MacBook Air, time capsule and Apple TV all connected. I can view non iTunes movies fine. I have home sharing turned on and signed in to my iTunes account (both when connected to the Internet at my parents house.)
The Apple TV prompts me to authorise my computer which I can't do as I've no Internet connection, the computer is already authorised, from previous time on the net.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Where are the movies from, are they iTunes movies.

  • ITunes movie trailers not playing? (2)

I have been unable to view iTune trailers. Even though I have the latest 9.0.3 (15) version and standard broadband in NW London.
I have found changing the options of preferences - playback - play films & tv programmes has fixed the trailer playback on my system, suprizingly enough!
    Rinnekoti

Ok, I think I may have figured this out. After all the hub bub about Comcast and their bandwidth throttling, I thought might change my DNS setting with OpenDNS. Well the minute I changed them, boom, the trailers loaded both through iTunes and my Apple TV without issue.
Could my isp (Suddenlink in Kingwood, Texas) be throttling traffic from particular sites like iTunes? I hope not. I did another bandwidth test after my OpenDNS changes and the speed is still 8mbs so speed was never the issue.
Hope this helps someone else out.

  • Will Airplay via Mountain Lion work on 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo (mid 2007)  iMac

One of the main reasons I would purchase OS X Moutain Lion is for its AirPlay feature, in particular to stream Hulu from my iMac to my Apple TV 2.  In reading some of the preliminary reviews of Moutain Lion, AirPlay is not supported on older MacBook Pro's.  Will it work on my mid 2007 iMac (model identifier: iMac7,1) running a 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM?
    I'm currently running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53).
    Any help is appreciated.  Thanks!

  • Converting .mov files to .avi in Mountain Lion 10.8.2

For the past few years we have been preparing video files for our scoreboard in our arena by converting .mov files in Quicktime 7. All worked PERFECTLY!!!
Now after a summer of changes to Apple's OS, we have discovered that we can no longer convert .mov files (with proper size) to .avi for our scoreboard.
We have downloaded every converting software out there, but NONE, I repeat NONE allow a custom video size (128x64) for our Daktronics scoreboard.
Very, Very, Very sad that Apple has done this to us and that Daktronics is so archiac in requiring only .avi files.
    Help please

For many years we would create our video in a .mov format in the proper size (128x64) and with QT7 we would then convert to .avi with the same size and all would work fine.
Neither MOV nor AVI are "formats," — they are file generic file containers which can hold different kinds of data (e.g., audio, video, text, chapter, timing, etc,) which, in turn, mzy be compressed or encoded using different algorithms or formats. For instance an TV compatible MOV file might contain H.264 video along with an AAC stereo audio, AC3 DD5.1 surround audio, and text "chapter" track while an AVCHD file imported to iMovie would usually be an MOV file containing AIC video and PCM audio for editing. Both are MOV files but they contain entirely different forms of compressed/formatted data. The same holds true for the AVI file container.
I am not that familar with compression. I have attached some info from the QT7 Inspector.
The inspector indicates this MOV file contains three "video" tracks containing "Animation" compressed data. Based on the very low frame rate, my guess would be that these tracks may only contain Animation compressed images stored on separate tracks sequentially to display as a slide show or the tracks contain animated text sequences which play back sequentially. To fully understand what is going on here I would need to either see the file itself or you would have to explain how you created this MOV file. However, while this "sourcing" information would be of personal interest, it (MOV file encoded as Animation/Animation/Animation) should not present a conversion problem as far as the "data source" is concerned.
The next and more important question would be, "To what compression format do you normally transcode the Animation data?" For that I would need to see the "Inspector" window for one of your "working" AVI files (or you could simply email me both the source and finished files) so I can try to simulate your work flow. Basically, AVI is a legacy file format (for which support was formerly dropped more than a decade ago) which commonly uses "legacy" compression formats which may or may not be supported by your current codec component configuration or QT legacy codec settings.
E.g., "Cinepak" is a common default codec used to create AVI video content on a Mac which may be turned off by default on your system and need to be "re-activated" for use under Mountain Lion. (This is why I need to know your "normal" target format and settings here.) As an example, here is a link to an image seguence I created, converted to Animation compression, and then exported as an AVI "Cinepak" file on my system under Mountain Lion to try and simulate your previous work flow. See if it is something like what you are trying to end up with:
    http://downloads.walker4.me/downloads/Temporary_files/Barsoom1.avi
You can use the above link to view, download, and/or load the file directly to your QT 7 player if your current system configuration allows this or the VLC media player if it does not. (I.e., this file may or may not be compatible with your current QT playback capabilities and/or this "Daktronics" device—about which I know nothing—but should be compatible with the VLC media player in any case if you have it installed.)

  • Airplay on Mountain Lion

Just downloaded mountain lion and the airplay icon does not appear in the menu bar at the top of the screen  and I have two apple TV's active on the network.

Thanks for wasting my $20 Apple this feature was one of the main reasons I bought this upgrade.  Why would older Macs be excluded???
Older Macs are not in Apple's view sufficiently capable of compressing the display frames to stream to AppleTV in real time.
There is a 3rd party app called Airparrot

  • Where is airplay in mountain lion?

I just upgraded to mountain lion, but cannot make airplay work. It says it should appear in the task bar, I checked my apple TV and is connected to the same network as my mac book

It is in settings-display toward the bottom, but be advised

  • ITunes stopped syncing iPhone 4s after Mountain Lion upgrade

Installed Mountain Lion today, all looks well except sync of iPhone 4s with iTunes won't start either directly as the phone is hooked up or by forcing a Sync. iTunes sees the device but hitting Sync gets stuck on "Waiting for sync to start", and after a while it gives up with an error message.
    OS X 10.8 on a MacBook Air (2012).
    Anyone else seeing this? Ideas?

I've tried this but with no luck. I've restarted my iphone and itunes repeatedly, then tried to sync. Each time the "memory" line or gauge (whatever you call it - it tells you how much memory you're using for music, photos, etc. as well as total memory used/available) shows all of the music is on the phone, but after syncing is done the music has NOT transferred to my iphone and the music portion of that "memory" line or gauge drops down to near zero.
This along with my inability, even after 2 1/2 hours with Apple tech support, to get my calendar or contacts to sync.
Any ideas out there? A Nobel Prize may be available!!

  • Why my iMac doesn't work in Airplay with Mountain Lion?

I am very disappointed because I have a very powerful iMac with 8GB of RAM, a AppleTV2, and I can't use them in AirPlay.
Apple has chosen to not run Airplay on an "old" iMac for not risk a failure .. it is a shame.. they must let me try to work with it..
if not working properly, iMac may automatically disable this function

Reports on other web sites are indicating that AirPlay mirroring, presuming that's what you are referring to, requires Intel's QuickSync hardware compression, something that is not present in older Macs. If that's correct, then it's not by Apple's whim and there will be no way it will ever come to your older system. Third-party options for your system include:
