HT204291 Help with Airplay icon.

I cannot see the airplay icon in the multitask bar. I used to, but now it has gone! Any advice?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
    1.    Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
    2.    Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
    3.    Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
    4.    Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
    5.    Restart your router.
    6.    Restart your mobile device.

I'm trying to send a video to my AppleTV from iPad. Sound is heard, but image is main menu. Any suggestions?

Websites and third party Apps need enabling before they will allow AirPlay of Video content. Some Website/App developers have not enabled their products, some simply haven't got around to it yet, others have stated that they won't be enabling AirPlay (likely as a result of licensing issues).

  • HT204291 can see airplay icon but getting error -15000 after I updated to itunes 11.4

Airplay quit working after I updated itunes to v. 11.04. I can see the airplay icon in both the mini-player and home screen. It shows the device in the listings but when I select it I receive unknown error -15000. All was fine until the upgrade. I'm running Windows 7. Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem? Thanks.

    Hi Monie35,
The article below may be able to help you with this issue.
Click on the link below to see more details and screenshots.
I've quoted some helpful highlights for you:
    Troubleshooting AirPlay and AirPlay Mirroring
Verify that your AirPlay-enabled devices have the most up-to-date software or firmware.
Verify that your iOS device has Wi-Fi turned on. Enable Wi-Fi on your iOS device by going to Settings ]]> Wi-Fi.
Verify that all your AirPlay-enabled devices are logged on to the same home Wi-Fi network (check the home network names on your devices to confirm).
If trying to AirPlay, or AirPlay mirror, to your Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation), ensure that AirPlay is enabled on your Apple TV as well. You can enable or disable AirPlay on Apple TV in the AirPlay menu: Settings > AirPlay
Check Internet or network connectivity on all affected devices.
Temporarily disable firewalls (both network and local) and security software. Security software and firewalls may block ports that AirPlay uses to stream content. You can often resolve issues with security software by updating, correctly configuring, or uninstalling security software.
I hope this information helps ....
    Have a great day!

  • Help with airplay?

Airplay is not working with my apple TV (2nd gen) either from iphone4 or macbookpro running Lion. The Airplay icons do appear on both the iphone and macbookpro but selecting apple TV does not do anything.
The router and subnet settings are the same across all the devices and all of them can access the Internet fine.
    Any help would be appreciated.
Also, the apple TV cannot load my iTunes Library, it keeps trying to connect but cannot load it ultimately

New update for iTunes fixed this for me.

  • HT1600 NEED HELP WITH AIRPLAY!!!!

I have a later 2011 macbook pro and I cant get airplay mirroring to work please help!

AirPlay Mirroring is compatible with your Mac, but it requires OS X Mountain Lion > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5404 You have two possibilities:
    1. Make a Time Machine backup and/or a clone with Carbon Copy Cloner, open App Store and purchase Mountain Lion. After upgrading, you will be able to turn on AirPlay Mirroring on the AirPlay icon on the at the top right or on System Preferences > Displays.
    2. Install AirParrot > http://www.airparrot.com
I recommend the first option, as you will get the most recent version

  • Need Help with AirPlay

I have a 3G Touch and my son has a 4G. We have an older Airport Express that is joined to our wireless network. The AE is connected to a set of powered speakers. It works great to play music from iTunes. I have never had a problem. The Mac is connected to the network with a wired Ethernet connection. Both of our iPods are on the same wireless network as the AE. I have home sharing turned on in iTunes. After installing the 4.2.1 update, I wanted to try playing music through the AE speakers directly from my iPod. It worked...for about 2 seconds. Then the music stopped. I have been able to get it to work intermittently. It may play a song or two, but it won't stay connected. I tried resetting the AE and the iPod. Sometimes it looks like it is connected to AirPlay but it isn't playing. Then sometimes it disconnects and the icon disappears. My son didn't have the icon at all at first, until he rebooted his iPod. Now he has the same problem I am having, so it isn't the iPod. I'm guessing it's either because the AE is an older model (several years), or the new AirPlay feature is still glitchy. Does anyone have any suggestions for something I might not have tried yet? I would really like to get this working because it's a cool feature. Thanks.

    ipod touch 2g
i can try this, however, both units are near each other. and even so. being sure to connect to the express first wouldnt eliminate the fact that moving the ipod around (i.e. its function is to be mobile) would inevitably result in it switching from one base station to another.
what i have noticed using other apps such as remote, or even facebook, is that my ipod loses wifi connectivity when the screen locks. i am running iOS4.2.1, which, if i am correct, is supposed to automatically disable wifi being turned off in sleep mode such that ipod users can still get push notifications (which are enabled on my device). for example, using the remote app in the past, there was an option to force the unit to remain connected to wifi during sleep mode to allow for uninterrupted connection between the ipod and the itunes library it was connected to. now that option is gone, presumably because of the new OS. however, if i let the screen go dark and lock on its own, the music will not cut out as it is being played from my mac, however, if i turn the screen back on, the wifi icon is gone, and takes several seconds to come back. just a note: when using my ipod for airplay, and the audio stops upon locking, turning the screen back on reveals that the wifi icon is still there (sometimes, depending on how long i waited) and the audio comes back several seconds thereafter.
so right now i am thinking that this may be an iOS issue, in that the device is unable to remain connected to wifi in sleep mode despite that being the whole point of one of the recent iOS4 updates.
i would try a restore, but i know it wont downgrade the OS. so perhaps i will just have to wait for iOS4.3, or an intermediate, to see if this issue gets resolved.

  • Noob help with screen icons

I just got an 8830 and have fumbled through figuring out what most of the icons are. I read all the manuals and asked Sprint for help. They were stumped. I figured out the message icon and how to clear it but sometimes instead of a yellow envelope, it looks like a wireline drawing of an envelope. There are other icons that there is no way to figure out what they are.
For example, next to bluetooth icon, there is something that looks like a crosshair for a rifle scope, next to it, something that looks like speaker waves. Sprint was as clueless as I was.
Is there a sticky or something that could guide us noobs through the unknown icon jungle?

Click here, I think you have a text message: 8800 home screen indicators

That would be your GPS icon. When you have the ))) waves that means it's on. I turn it off when I don't need it.
It saves both battery and memory. Go to the options icon, click on it, advanced options, GPS.
To turn off and on toggle GPS service to 911 or location on location aiding to enabled, disabled.

  • HT204291 Problem with Airplay or AirPlay Mirroring

I am not able to use AirPlay or AirPlay Mirroring to stream content like Hulu (not Hulu plus) to my Apple TV from my PC.  I disabled the firewall and that did not help.

How are you trying to do this?  It would require mirroring and you seem to have a PC not mac.  If that is the case you need a third party app called airparrot www.airparrot.com which should give you the ability to 'mirror'.  It has mixed reviews but I found it fine until I got mirroring.

Hello user333 and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
What BlackBerry Curve device model are you using? What is your installed software version?
Do you see your Messages folder on the home screen? The separate email icon for each email account?
Resend your service books as shown in KB15402 then try again.
Let me know how you make out.

  • HT4437 Help with airplay and pioneer AV amp

Hi, I have a Pioneer 1326-k (Basically an Elite VSX 53). It is wired directly into my router. I can use airplay from the PC, But not from the Ipad (belongs to the kid, don't know what gen), Iphone (3GS), or the ipod (I am guessing 4 as we just bought it). I have the blue tooth adapter, and it works fine. The wireless control of the amp works fine as well (iControlAV2). Any help appreciated.
    Ian

Not sure why your Pioneer receiver is unable to perform as a DHCP client, but adding the appropriate IP address information should be relatively straight-forward.
You can easily get the information using your iMac and going to: System Preferences > Network > Ethernet or AirPort depending on how your iMac connects to the network.
Here's an example from mine. Note: I'm using OS X Lion so it will look a bit different from yours.
For the Pioneer, the DHCP address = Router address; DNS = DNS Server, etc. However, DON'T use your iMac IP address for the IP address used by the Pioneer. The IP address you should use would be in the same subnet, BUT OUTSIDE of the DHCP server range of your router. By default, the AEBS, uses 10.0.1.2 thru 10.0.1.200 for these addresses. I would suggest using 10.0.1.210 for the Pioneer.

  • HT204291 Problem with AirPlay logo

The AirPlay logo doesn't appear in the menu bar on our iPad. Any suggestions to solve this are most welcome. Thank you.

I use this feature many times a week at home and at work... one thing to check is to see if your Apple TV and your iPad (gen 2+) are on the same wifi network. AirPlay only works when the devices are connected to the same network. You may also want to check to make sure that AirPlay is turned on on your Apple TV. If this still is not solving your issue, I would then look to your network settings, not all networks will support such sharing features.

  • Help! AirPlay icon has gone gone gone!

No idea how or why but it's gone. I tried to reset but to no avail. Same on other iPad....is this all iPads? What has gone on?
    Any advice would be great!

If you restarted your modem for some reason, you might run into this problem. Put your apple tv to sleep, then switch off wifi on your iPad. Close your Music and/or Movies app in your iPad. Turn apple tv back on, and enable wifi on your iPad.
You should now be able to establish a link between the two. Remember it didn't happen instantly, though. Speed my vary but it works for me.
