I just hooked up my Apple TV - I have an iPhone 4 and I'm trying to do mirroring and I can hear sound, but no video. Any suggestions?

It Depends on the app you are trying to airplay. Most apps do not allow content to airplay with video and will disable the video so all you will hear is the audio. If the app you are using does not have a built in airplay function and you have to use the iphone to make it work than most likley that is the case as I described above.
It has to do with copyright protection and what the app is allowing apple to do.

What's the video exactly? Open into the QT player and report what it says in the movie inspector or post a screen shot.

Greeting Hiro, I can hear sound at http://news.yahoo.com/video/ecuador-volcano-erupts-045906534.html. At first, I see a black square, then I see bluish circle, followed by musical notes.Then the screen stays black. I see a black square and then after the video ends, I see in the upper left corner of the black square, a replay icon. I have VLC version 2.0.3. I tried to see if I have Windows Media Player in Programs and Features and I do not see it listed. I have Windows Media Center. Thank you for your response. Ldxrunner.

How long did you let it charge? It may take 30 minutes before the iPad responds when the battery is completely drained. Let it charge for at least 30 minute using the wall charger. Then rest the iPad. Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button continuously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the button and let the device restart. You will not lose data doing this. It's like a computer reboot.
If the iPad restarts let it continue to charge until the battery is 100%.
If the iPad still does not start make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

You need to give us more information. How are you bringing the files into FCP X? What format are they? Do they play in Quicktime Player? Open one in QT Player, and post a screenshot of the Movie Inspector.

Websites and third party Apps need enabling before they will allow AirPlay of Video content. Some Website/App developers have not enabled their products, some simply haven't got around to it yet, others have stated that they won't be enabling AirPlay (likely as a result of licensing issues).
Amazon have blocked both basic AirPlay and mirroring.

I am unable to get a picture whilst watching apple tv.i have no problems with iTunes but trying to watch love film and the sound plays but can't get the picture.all passwords have been set.

I can not hear the sound on a youtube video that appears within an app. I can hear sound on youtube videos outside of the app. This is strange, because on other ipads the sound does play within the app. Is there something I need to change in settings?

The "restore disk" is built into the Mac. See About Recovery.
Need more specifics about what error messages you got while installing Adobe Flash.
However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.
Click the Try something new! link at the bottom of the YouTube page.
I don't know about the sound issue. Might be hardware as you think. Try other headphones to check.

Not all apps are enabled for airplay, this is up to the developer to do.

I am also having this issue. Hear but not see. I am using the iTunes video app on my iPad to play a show I bought on iTunes. A little pop up box comes up on the lower left of my tv showing the show , I can hear it but not see it. Rebooted Apple TV and iPad. No help.
