HT204291 My Apple TV is stating that it is not authorised to play the content on my computer's iTunes
Downloaded some renatls for iTunes on my MacBook Air and wanted to watch these via my 2nd Gen Apple TV and get a warning message that it is not authorised to play the content???

Thanks for helping and I tried this but I am only allow to de-authorise once a year and I have already done this once and now cannot do it again until Sept 2012

Music purchased on ipad wont play on computer. I get a message which says that the computer is not authorised to play the track but when I enter the password I get the message saying that the computer is already authorised. I have the opposite problem transfering some but not all music from computer to ipad. Can anyone help?
Interesting. Maybe it is more of a DRM issue than an Apple ID ownership issue. There is actually an iTunes Support section here on the discussion boards. rent movie from itunes store but Apple TV can not play it. Any one know why ?
I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not downloading properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item. -
I have purchased an Ambient Content movie. It successfully downloaded to my Itunes library. It did a sync with my Apple TV. whn I try to play the movie, I get a message that states, Your Apple TV is not aurthorized to play this content. My questions are why is the Apple TV not aurthorized to play the content, and what do I have to do to aurthorize it.

This is kind of complicated, but basically my Mac OSX laptop's hardrive recently crashed, but I got a new one and used a passport to put all of my old Word docs, iTunes, photos, and movies back onto the new hardrive. Everything was working fine until I tried to use iMovie. I filmed two new videos in Photobooth, imported those into iPhoto and then prepared to go to iMovie to import the new videos (that was my system) so I could make them Youtube-compatible. However, at first iMovie wanted to make thumbnails of ALL my videos (up until then I had just assumed all of my old 50 videos were buried in my iPhoto?), but I just dismissed that and agreed to it, and it gave me the memo that it would take 4 hours to do, but that was alright... UNTIL I got a pop-up thingy saying that "iMovie is not authorized to play this content. Open with iTunes to view" (something along those lines) and then the rainbow wheel of death appeared and I had to force-quit. I tried this three times. I finally checked on iTunes to discover that all my old movies had transferred over to iTunes. That hadn't been that way before. I would prefer to have them on iMovie/iPhoto, and I NEED to be able to use iMovie to edit and such. Can anyone explain to me what might be going on and offer a quick fix (if there is one?)? Sorry for the lengthy explanation! Also, if this requires a visit to the Apple store, in the meantime, is it possible to upload a video to Youtube from iTunes (one that I made, not purchased from iTunes)?

Apple TV gen 1 says Not authorized to play this content...
My apple tv gen1 has synced all my tv shows and movies, and I am unable to view the shows as it says that it is not authorized to play this content. I have tried:
reset my router
de authorized and re- authorized my computer
signed in again (although half the time it continually says that my username or password is incorrect)
I have reset my apple tv both soft and back to factory settings
I have installed version 10.4.1 of itunes on my computer
I can play all the content on my ipad, iphone and computer just not on the apple tv!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel. -

I have purchased an album for the itunes store. My MacBook is authorized but this one album keeps giving me the message that I'm not authorized to play the album.
Delete and redownload it if doing so is free in your country.

I keep getting emails stating that my password had been changed but the name attached to the message is not minr but it's my email address. Is someone using my email address to sign into FaceTime or other Apple Programs?
Of you're being phished. There are a lot of phishing scams going around right now with bad guys trying to get access to apple ID's.
Anytime you want to verify the info, do not click on any links in the mail, but open up iTUnes on your computer and check things out that way.

How do you change the drive that my Iphone backs-up to on my computer? My first attempt to back-up and i received a pop-up stating that I do not have sufficient memory/space, knowing that I have over 120GB of free space...any ideas? thanks

iTunes stores your iPhone backups in the Library folder in your Home folder.
iTunes places the backup files in these places:
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup/
Create and delete iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch backups in iTunes

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up. -

Ok, you should generally only get this when you are converting your ID to an iTS account for the first time.
Sign into iTunes with your Apple ID and you should get this.... IRC once you agree or accept it's now an iTS account and you wont get that again. -

Yes, of course. Did you set up with your Apple ID?
Reset the iPad to factory and set it up with your Apple ID and password. You can still sync different apps, music and other stuff onto the iPad, the devices need not mirror each other.

We are fellow users here on these user-to-user forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple.
Have you tried closing all apps via the iPad's multitasking bar and then doing a soft-reset and seeing that helps ? To close all apps :
iOS 7: double-click the home button to open the taskbar, and then swipe or drag each app's screen from there up and off the top of the screen to close it, and click the home button to close the taskbar.
iOS 6 and below : from the home screen (i.e. not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of each app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
Soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot. -
