HT204291 Vevo not working on airplay?

Can anyone explain to me who to get vevo to work on airplay?  works fine on my ipad and once I mirror with my apple TV is stops working when everything else does.

Great - thanks. I didn't actually use mirroring in the end.
Weirdly, having tried many times to get the video to play as well as the sound, it finally just played. Very odd, as for over an hour, all I could get was the sound with no picture. I'm not sure what I did differently, but eventually the film just played normally through AirPlay.
All very odd.
Thanks for your post though.

AirPlay mirroring not working but AirPlay is?

I'm in the same boat.  Apple TV & iPad absolutely, positively up to date.  Airplay working.  When you swipe left to right, airplay icon is in fact present.  However, the only options are:
I've root boot iPad, Apple TV, Airport extreme, computer same network (should have no bearing but why not) with no results.  Only options for Airplay are iPad & Apple TV.  HELP.

  • Home sharing not working but airplay is

I was watching some videos streaming from my MacBook Pro to my Apple TV (4.2.2) and after a while it refused to stream.
I reset my DSL router, my Airport AP, rebooted the MacBook Pro, hard booted the Apple TV and so far it won't stream from any of the three Macs I have set up for Home Sharing.
Airplay works fine.  Streaming Movie previews from the iTunes Store works fine.  Streaming Purchased Content from the iTunes store does not work.  The Remote App from my iTouch and iPad both have no problem controlling the Apple TV.
All I get is that swirly 'waiting' animation.  This is the same regardless of whether it is purchased (protected) content or not.
I've got the latest versions of iTunes on all the Macs and am using the same account on each.
One thing I haven't tried yet -- the account I'm using is an @mac.com, not @me.com.  I read that these are supposed to be equivalent but could there be something squirrelly going on with that?

Good to know your Apple IDs are fine.
So I've been experimenting with de-authorizing and re-authorizing computers and devices and the symptoms you are experiencing are reminiscent of devices and computers unable to authenticate with Apple's servers.
What I would do is try de-authorizing and re-authorizing computers and devices to see if things return to normal. Start with the computers first. You can quickly de-authorize the computers by logging in to your iTunes Store account and using the 'Deauthorize All' button. After clicking the button wait a few minutes for it to propagate. You will know that the computers have been de-authorize when the Account Information page says "0 computers are authorized to play content purchased with this Apple ID." Other devices like Apple TV and iPads and such do not count on that list.
Once de-authorized, re-authorize them from the 'Store' menu in the iTunes app. You will know all three computers have been re-authorized when the Account Information page says "3 computers are authorized to play content purchased with this Apple ID." Now try and play your content with Apple TV. If it still doesn't work turn Home Sharing off on the Apple TV and then re-enable it using your Apple ID.
Hopefully this brings back your Home Sharing functionality.

  • Apple TV (2nd and 3rd Generation) - Home Sharing Not Working but Airplay Does

    Hi everyone,
This has been a bit of a ongoing problem, so I'll provide a bit of background.
I am running a Mac Mini (Late 2012) Running Yosemite 10.10.1 as a media server running 10TB of Movies, TV Shows and Music off a NAS Drive. Running iTunes 12.0.1.26. Main hard drive is a 256GB SSD.
I also have 5 Apple TV's in the house, 2 are 3rd Generation (running iOS 7.0.2), 3 are 2nd Generation (running iOS 6.2.1).
The goal is to watch the TV Shows and Music through Home Sharing.
Home sharing works perfectly through the 3rd Generation Apple TV's, as does Airplay. I never have a problem with these. Mac Mini (or any other device for that manner) has no issues accessing the NAS.
The 2nd Generation Apple TV's are a continual source of frustration. They are connected to the network, can access the iTunes store, can accept Airplay signals from the Mac Mini, iPads, iPhones, etc. Can even detect the other (2nd and 3rd Gen Apple TV's). But frequently, when I try and connect to Home Sharing, I receive the error message "Cannot connect to Home Sharing", even though if I jump on the Mac Mini, I can airplay the content to that Apple TV just fine.
Is this just a 2nd Generation Apple TV Issue (to make us go an upgrade all our Apple TV's to 3rd Generation)?
I have completed the following troubleshooting steps, to no success.
    1) Reset the Apple TV's (Multiple Times)
    2) Sign out of Home Sharing\iCloud\iTunes Account, reset, and sign back in.
    3) Restore the Apple TV to the latest firmware and set up again.
    4) Test the device on Wireless and Wired Network.
    5) Reset all network infrastructure.
    6) Power Cycle the Apple TV's for 15 minutes.
    7) Reset iTunes.
    8) Sign out of Home Sharing\iCloud\iTunes Account in iTunes, Reset the Mac Mini, and Sign back in.
    9) Reinstall iTunes.
    10) Reset the Mac Mini and NAS.
    11) Reformat the Mac Mini and update to latest operating system (Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.1).
    12) Try home sharing from a Windows PC (Windows 8.1, x64).
Literally out of ideas. Am I chasing a Unicorn on this one? Would love some help.
    Thanks!

  • Video not working on AirPlay

Hi. I have read various threads on this subject, and understand the comments made re rights and intellectual property.
However I don't understand what's going on with my specific issue, nor whether there's a solution.
I have rented (and therefore paid for - not a dodgy download) a movie from iTunes on my iPad 2 - iTunes which is an Apple product. I am viewing this video on the Videos app (an Apple app) on my iPad. So far do good.
I have then tried to view the video via AirPlay and my Apple TV, so that I don't have to watch it on my tiny iPad screen but on my big TV.
Is there a way to make this work? If not, I will stop using iTunes to download films as what's the point? I'd be better off going to Blockbuster - at least I'd be able to watch on the TV!
Any help very welcome. Many thanks.

  • Apple TV not working with airplay

So i am a bit of an apple freak, I have a macbook pro (2011) iPhone 5 & a iPad 2 and none if it will connect to my Apple TV
Basically I am wanting to be able to run with airplay because its super hand for meetings etc, it was working fine then one day it just decided to never work. I updated the apple tv today and it worked for about 5 minutes until it disappeared from everything. Does anyone have an ideas?
    Also home sharing dosn't work
    Thanks!

Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

  • Audio not working on airplay to apple tv

I am unable to airplay sound to my apple tv.  I am in the sound preferences and it will not allow me to select Apple TV airplay as my output.  What do I need to do?

Audio outputs to your Apple TV connected speakers by default. The settings are for setting it to output to other airplay enabled speakers.

  • HT5517 itunes movies not working with airplay/apple TV

Itunes music and pictures work fine when using airplay on my macbook pro (2011), but as soon as I want to play a movie that's stored on the macbook, I get at 3150 error and the macbook and Apple TV want to access the itunes store. What's the deal here?

Seems like the issue is with my home network.  When I tried to ping the iPad2 or iPhone or Apple TV from the iMac it timed out even though they are all on the same WiFi network.  I had a guest network also enabled which I disabled and tried pinging them and most of the time it works but gets the ping time varies a lot between 30ms to 1s but now I see the AirPlay option and my iMac shows up on my Apple TV.

  • 4S does not work with AirPlay

I'm trying to use AirPlay on my iPhone 4S (Verizon & iOS 5.1) to connect to my iTV (version 2, latest software) and my iMac (10.6.8)
I can use iTunes on the iMac to connect to Apple TV and PandoraJam allows me to connect, as well.
However, I can't get the AirPlay symbol to light up on the iPhone.
I've followed all of the steps on the support page and have also reset the network settings and switched languages.
When I go to another network that has two AirPort Expresses on it, my phone connects to those immediately.
When I double click on the Home butto to see the running apps, I can scroll the list of apps and the leftmost group has buttons for parental control, previous, stop, next, and Music. There is no icon for AirPlay. Similarly, the AirPlay symbol is not visible in Photos, Videos, or Music.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.

Is the device actually connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the AppleTV and Mac?

I currently have a WPN824 v3 Netgear router and I’m trying to set up my Apple TV. I am able to connect it to my wireless network but my airplay feature is currently not working. The icon does not appear on any of my devices. My ipad and ipones all are currently up to date and are all joined to the same network. Is it the way that my router is configured. Please help let me know what I need to change in my router settings or does my router not work with Airplay. Or is there a simple fix.

you don't mention which products you use
only ipad2 and up support mirror
and only iphone4s and up support mirror
other devices only use airplay for apps which support tvout options

  • DRM content and Airplay without internet does not work.

First off I am extremely pleased with my cutover to the Apple world. Like many I have been using the "gateway" Apple products for years and have just recently purchased a new MBP.
I have just spent the better part of a day testing out what happens when you purchase a movie from the iTunes store and attempt to play it via AirPlay (ATV2) without an internet connection. It does NOT work or at least I could not make it happen. Its taking a little shine off Apple for me, and definitely something that will make me think twice before going deeper into the "Cloud."
My specific need is to have both purchased and rented movies on my shiny new MBP and stream them via AirPlay in my RV with an ATV2 that does not have an internet connection.
Before any pseudo techies chime in, here are the test cases I have used:
    1. Connect my wireless router to the internet and connect the ATV2 and MBP to the router (wirelessly) everything works perfect.
    2. Disable internet access to the router and cold boot both ATV2 and MBP then reconnect both to the router (wirelessly) to simulate a roadtrip in the RV.
Result #1: movies that I have created (HandBrake copies of DVDs) work perfectly
Result #2: movies that I have purchased via iTunes ----DO NOT WORK with AirPlay (I get an error message saying cannot connect to ATV2)
Result #3: Digital copies that come with the Bluray for iTunes DO NOT WORK with Airplay (same message from #2)
Result #4: If I reconnect the router back to the internet then everything works fine.
Unless I am missing something here (and please let me know) I would suspect that there is a DRM workflow here that requires home sharing to connect back to my Apple account, correct?

What you are experiencing is identical to my experience.  With the recent power losses in the Northeast due to Irene, we lost cable and internet connectivity.  Luckily we had a generator so that we could still watch our movie and TV library on AppleTV.  We were wrong.  While we have purchased and own many TV shows, virtually none of them were available for streaming via an iPad, iphone or any of our imacs using Airplay to a TV.  Compounding matters, it was also impossible to take a direct VGA connection from the computer where my itunes library resides, and play DRM content on our TV.  What is crazy about this, is that this is for content that we purchased...some of it several years old.
I understand Hollywood's desire to control piracy, but this is not the way to do it.  There should not be a need for an internet connection to play DRM content on the devices that have shared itunes accounts.  This would mean that if you take your AppleTV anywhere w/out an internet connection (for example on travel), you will not be able to view any content that you own that resides on your macbook or ipad (at least you will not be able to view it on a TV).

some of the apps are not working properly. have to close and restart the device. Do I need to throw the device? really frsutrating..

I just checked and ABC does not work over airplay. I do have an iPad 2 but I turned off mirroring in order to use it the same way an iPad 1 user would. You are right about the link so I have provided one that is up to date.
    http://theapple.tv/apps/list-of-airplay-enabled-apps/
The error message is suspect though, as audio should still come through. I assume you've tried the basics (reboot, reset) for both devices. In regards to the video and why it worked that time, whatever the reason is due to something the developer has done.
