Follow these steps until the issue is addressed:
1. Make sure that the printer is powered on, has ink / toner, and that there are no alerts on the printer’s control panel. Note: If you cannot clear an alert on the printer's control panel, stop here and check the printer's documentation or contact the manufacturer for support.
2. Ensure the printer is properly connected to a USB port on the Mac or AirPort base station / Time Capsule. If the printer is a network-capable printer, make sure that it is properly connected to your home network.
3. Use Software Update to find and install the latest available updates. If an update is installed, see if the issue persists.
4. Open the Print & Scan pane or Print & Fax (Snow Leopard) pane in System Preferences.
5. Delete the affected printer, then add the printer again.
If the issue persists, try these additional steps:
1. Reset the printing system, then add the printer again.
2. If the issue still persists, reset the printing system again. Download and install your printer's drivers. Then, add the printer again.
3. Contact the printer vendor or visit their website for further assistance.

I recently upgraded my computer software to version 10.6.8.
Ever since then the scanner on my HP 4200 printer/scanner will not work.
Could the two be connected? If so, how do I fix this issue?

There is more than one 4200 on OS X: Printer and scanner software available for download
with scanner support:
HP Deskjet F4200 series *
HP Officejet 4200 series *
HP Photosmart C4200 series *
HP Officejet 4200 series. Fax *
If yours is not listed, then you need to identify which model it is, that someone can find you the right driver from HP's website.
The HP download from Apple:

Should improve support for any of these three with Image Capture, or the Printer System Preferences in Apple menu. Add HP's own driver for your scanner for Mac OS X 10.6 will help as well. The sequence of installation may be important, and a reboot may be needed.
Some printers need to send a scan command to computer for the driver to be able to pick it up.

ICloud email won't work after upgrade

iCloud email won't work after upgrade to Mountain Lion. Says pop 3 server is timing out. Solutions?

I'm sorry, as I keep saying... in MAIL I get the message that it cannot cannot to server!? Did you read the initial problem at all! I know exactly where mail is, although, the diagram was wonderful.
My problem is TWO FOLD.
The MAIL app doesn't work with iCloud but does work with my POP3 email for my office.
Second problem is the iCloud on Safari doesn't work as I get the error message as the screenshot above.
There is NO reason why the @me.com email shouldn't work through the iCloud site, as you can see, there is a also a Mail icon.

Mail won't work after upgrade to 3.0

I cannot get my Mail program to work after upgrading to 3.0. It starts, searched for new mail, then quits. I cannot get or send new mail. The program does not operate. Suggestions, please?

I get the exact same thing. The status just keeps showing "Connecting..." and it never seems to connect. Oddly enough, I just updated to the new OS on my iMac at home and immediately after, I couldn't connect to mail from the computer. I had to manually download a component of the update and once I did that, mail worked just fine. Probably just an odd coincidence having nothing to do with the mail issues on the iPhone but I thought I'd mention it.

Canon MX 860 scanner won't work after installing Mt Lion

After upgrading my IMac to Mountain Lion v 10.8 my wireless Canon MX 860 scanner function won't work. The printer works. When I try to start the scanner either from the keyboard or the scanner I get an error message: MP Navigator EXquit unexpectedly.
I downloaded and reinstalled the scanner driver
mac-mx860-14_11_4a-ea8_2-1.dmg
and restarted and it still doesn't work.
any other suggestions?

You may also need to update MP Navigator to v2.1.3. If you are using an older version then trash that version before installing the latest version.

My itunes store, app center, safari and mail won't work after upgrade

I am very dissapointed in the new maverick upgrade. My app center, itune store, safari, and me mail won't work with the new upgrade. I called the help desk and they had me uninstall and re install the upgrade. he said i should have everything backed up cuz I will lose everything, but nothing was lost. It worked for a day, but now it doesn't work at all. it just gives me the hourglass circle symbol and finally times out. A couple of times my computer gave me an error code that i wasn't connected to the internet, even though I could use chrome no problem. Another error code I got was that I wasn't signed in, but I am. Any suggestions?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

My HP LaserJet 1536 Scanner will not work after upgrading to Windows 10

I just upgraded to Windows 10, and now the scanner will not work, although I can still print. I downloaded the latest driver, but this does not seem to help. The error message I get states that scanner communication cannot be established. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks!

Greetings , I saw your post regarding the problems you are having with scanning after upgrading to windows 10.
I would start with the simple, have you tried just restarting the computer? Have you made sure your computer has all of it's windows updates? How can I tell if my computer is up to date? Most products do have updated software available for Windows 10, did you install the correct driver?HP LaserJet Full Feature Software and Driver I've also seen a few posts that say the Windows 8.1 driver will work for Windows 10 as well, so you could try that too.  HP provides a free tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and resolve printing and scanning problems. I recommend downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor, if it doesn't fix it automatically let me know what errors or messages you receive.  Do you know if you are able to scan using Paint? (It's the same for Windows 10, from what I've been told)Right-click the Start button () in the lower left corner of the screen, click Search, and then type ...Click Paint in the results.Click File, and then click From scanner or camera.Select your printer, click OK, and then click Scan. Same here, I have an iPhone 5s and it is really frustrating, all news app, twitter, whatsapp have stopped to Push any notification unless my device is awake !! only emails are fine - once I awake the iPhone, dozens of notifications pops up which make it really hard and annoying to read and follow !!!!
Please advise!!
Noting that i have tried to reset settings, backup and restore, install all updates....etc nothing worked !!

HP C7280 Solution Center won't work after upgrading to Windows 7

I was running Vista and connected to the C7280 both wired and wireless. Last month or so has been wireless with no issues.
I upgraded to Windows 7, reinstalled the driver I had, and now when I try to scan I get an error that says "An unsupported operation was attempted" that pops up twice, then I get an error that says "An invalid argument was encountered".
Then a pop up window gives some steps to try to fix the problem.
I downloaded and installed driver PS_AIO_02_Net_Full_Win_WW_130_140.exe which didn't work.
I then removed the printer from hardware, and uninstalled the Solution Center software,
Re-installed driver PS_AIO_02_Net_Full_Win_WW_130_140.exe C7200 driver package and
installed dot4patch_reboot.exe,
shut the printer down, unplugged it for a few minutes, rebooted the computer, and
the same errors occur.
The driver is a year old, and I can't find a newer version.

I installed the software for an HP Photosmart Premium C410 series and it corrected whatever problems I had with the HP Solution Center scanning problems in the C7280 printer software.
Go Figure ......

G4 AGP Graphics - 2nd display won't work after upgrading from os 10.2

I have a desktop G4 AGP Graphics with two displays. When I was running os 9-10.2, the second display worked fine, but after upgrading the os (now running 10.4), the second display still works, but has turned gray and pixelated.
When I take a screen shot, the picture shows that both displays appear clear (and in color).
Am I missing something? Thanks in advance for any suggestions

so do you have 2 different video cards driving two different monitors? or is it One video card with 2 displays?
the info you listed isnt very detailed but it does tell me you got an ATI video card with 16MB VRAM.
I assume that thats the Stock AGP 2x graphics card that came the The PowerMac G4 AGP graphics model.
why is your display set to 8bit depth? a stock 2x AGP card with 16MB VRAM should be able to support 16bit or 24bit depth even at 1024 x 768 res.
the info says also Core image not support as well as Quartz Extreme no supported. Which is significant because it could be why the 2nd Monitor doesnt display properly with Tiger.
under 10.2 there were less stringent requirements for driving video.
OSX 10.4 Tiger is much more advanced OS and has higher graphics cards requirements now.
I could be wrong, but I think you may need a newer video card that supports Quartz Extreme and Core image.
hopefully someone else will run by this topic and offer some insight aside from my own.

I installed OS X 10.9 on my MacBook Pro and now my printer Epson Stylus CX 3800 won't work. I uninstalled the printer and tried to reinstall with original epson software but computer won't download it. Perfectly good printer worked yesterday but not today. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

HP Photosmart D110a - Scanner no longer works after upgrading to OS Mavericks 10.9

I have an iMac. I upgraded my system to OS 10.9.5 Mavericks and the scanner of my multifunctional HP Photosmart D110a stopped working. Images imported by the scanner can not be saved in any format. I tried importing and saving from many different applications, as suggested in this forum, but none worked. I have read and researched this forum for at least 5 hours and none of the solutions worked! Neither for me nor for the people who had the same problem! I tried absolutely everything and nothing solved the problem! I downloaded drivers from various links provided, I reinstalled the printer multiple times, I read absolutely everything and no response from the HP team was satisfactory! The HP team indicates generic installation solutions, as if treating with stupid people. No objective response was presented! This seems like a joke! This is ridiculous!
Please, I require a clear and objective solution !!!

There is no full feature software and driver available from HP, but the OS X v10.9 Mavericks driver for your printer is available through Apple Software Update (ASU).
With this driver you can still print and scan, you just wont have HP software to scan from. Scanning to the computer from the printer control panel is only available when using HP Scan software, thus it will not work because there is no HP scan software as apart of the Apple Software Update driver.
This explains the issue you are having with the Scan software. That program, and any other HP Software for that printer that is on the computer was intended for an earlier version of the operating system not 10.9. Unexpected Scan Output Using HP Scan Application for HP Multifunction Printers When Using OS X v10.9...
Please complete the steps below to rid the computer of the incompatible software.
Scrub/ Uninstall
Open the Applications folder > HP or Hewlett Packard folder > HP Uninstaller
Click continue, click on one of the printers in the list.
* Only do this step if you do not have any other HP Printers. Hold down Control, Option and Command, While holding the three buttons down,
Click uninstall.
Reset Printing System
Click the Apple icon (   ), and then click System Preferences.
In the Hardware section, click Print & Fax/Scan. The Print & Fax/Scan dialog box opens.
Right-click (or  Ctrl  +click) in the left panel, and then click Reset printing system…
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type the correct Name and Password.
Click OK to reset the printing system. The Print & Fax dialog box shows no printer selected
Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol.
Repair Disk Permissions
On the Dock, click Applications, and then click Utilities.
Double-click Disk Utility.
Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left (by default this is "Macintosh HD").
Click the Repair Disk Permissions button at the bottom of the window.
Once the repair is complete, restart the computer.
At this point you can connect a USB cable from the printer to the computer and you will be able to print and scan, or if the printer is already on your network you can add the printer to your System Preferences with these steps;
Please ensure you are using the HP driver
Select Add other Printer or Scanner
Select the printer you are adding and next to 'Use' you can choose the printer driver
Now you can scan using one of the following methods;
Method one: Scan from the Print & Scan window
Method two: Scan from Apple Preview
Method three: Scan from Apple Image Capture

Printer won't work after upgrade

Hi. I have an HP Deskjet 460 portable printer. I have upgraded to Lion and now the printer is not recognised. When I inserted the original installation CD, it stated that Power PC applications are no longer supported. Any way I can get this printer to work with my iMac and Lion? Simple language explanation if there is one please. Thank you.

The simple answer is that the printer drivers (or the intaller for them) won't run on Lion.
You might be able to find a generic printer driver that will still allow you to print, but your best bet is to query the HP forums, where I'm sure if a workaround for Deskjets has been found, you'll find it there.
