HT204365 I recently did an update & now a lot of my PDFs just won't open:( Is there a way to get them back?!

Recently I did an update on my iPad & I'm not happy with iBooks. A lot of the PDFs I have saved wont open. It will take days to weeks to replace them all. Is there any way to still try to get them to reopen???
