Has anyone sucessfully used the Plantronics Voyager Pro HD with Skype on the iPad 3?
I can get it to work with audio such as music but the headset does not receive sound through the earpeice, only through the iPad speaker.

  • Plantronics Voyager Pro headset NOT compatible with 3GS

I've been having terrible problems with my Plantronics Voyager pro all singing and all dancing bluetooth headset and my 3GS.
I've tried 2 units to no avail and have a long case log with Plantronics support.
Apparently the inbuilt noise cancelling "intelligence" in the headset is conflicting with the iPhone noise cancelling electronics, producing a terrible user experience and is not just specific to Plantronics headsets, but all those that rely on headset noise-cancelling (like the Jawbone etc..)
Anyway, I notice that Plantronics have now changed their website to advise that the Voyager Pro is NOT compatible with the 3GS (in fact is seems like none of the noise-cancelling ones are)
This seems like a schoolboy error on Apple's part and speaking to Plantronics, they have no idea if and when a resolution is likely to be forthcoming!

I wish I had known this a few months ago. I had an original iPhone using a Plantronics Voyager 510. Everyone always said it was like I was in the same room talking to them. I bought a new 3Gs, and a Plantronics Voyager Pro. I seem to be able to hear just fine, but people I talk to keep having me repeat everything. Most people say it sounds like I'm talking to them from inside a hole somewhere. I got my headset last July. I switched back to my old bluetooth headset, it didn't resolve the problem, so I know it wasn't the Voyager Pro. I thought it might be interference from the metal cover I had bought from AT&T to protect the iPhone, and removing the cover seemed to give people better clarity, but they still complain. Now for long conversations I've had to return to using a corded headset.

  • MacBook Air does not See a Plantronics Voyager Pro bluetooth headset

My MacBook Air does not "see" my Plantronics Voyager Pro + bluetooth headset as a discoverable bluetooth asset.  I have read on Apple and Plantronics forums that these two devices should be compatible, but so far no luck.  Anybody have any experience with this situation?

Turns out the Voyager Pro Bluetooth headset failed...exchanging it for a new one and should be GTG.  Thanks.

  • Plantronics Voyager Pro+  iPhone 6 pair disconnects

Brand new iPhone 6, 128gb.  Version 8.1.3 (12B466).  Paired my Plantronics Voyager Pro+ with it, first bluetooth thing paired with the phone.  Paired easily.
What happens is, if my phone is idle for some period of time and the screen shuts off, when I get an incoming call, I find that the headset is no longer connected, even though the iPhone shows the bluetooth connection is there.  If I wait for a connection to happen, it never will.  I have to turn off the headset, turn it back on, at which point it connects to the phone without incident.
I have three other devices paired with the phone now.  I find that my car's bluetooth has a similar issue - it un-pairs and re-pairs from time to time.  (2014 Mercedes ML350).  My wife's iPhone 5 does NOT have the problem with the car.  This headset, and three others from other manufacturers, worked without drama with my previous phone, a Motorola Razr Maxx HD; my car had the same disconnect/reconnect problem from time to time, so I'm assuming THAT issue is the car's problem.
I've seen a huge number of complaints back late last year, so many I can't wade through to see if there are still issues.  The solution was supposed to be v8.1 of iOS.  Clearly not for me.
Is there some setting I should re-do?  Doing a full reset of the phone seems to be an absurd thing to do, given that this happened with a brand new clean phone and the first bluetooth item paired to it.  I STARTED with a re-set phone...
    Help appreciated.

Hi Susabella, great to hear. However mine is Plantronics Voyager Pro (no Plus, not sure whether it's different) and my iPad 1 still can't find it (yes my Plantronics was in discoverable mode). I read the tread and it says iPad 1 doesn't support HFP 1.5.

may be that's the reasons. Thks for you reply too.

  • Plantronics Voyager Pro vs. Macbook Pro sound output

I just bought the Plantronics Voyager Pro bluetooth headset to use with my iPhone in the car. It works great. As an experiment, I tried pairing it additionally with my 2007 Macbook Pro. I can hear sound output from some apps but not others, for example, I can hear music in iTunes, but not YouTube videos in Safari. It seems like I should be able to hear all sound output, not just some. Any suggestions appreciated.

The "bug" is specific to sites that stream such as youtube. The sound on my jawbone works with every application including safari but not when I navigate to a website that streams.

  • Cannot use Plantronics Voyager Pro w/macbook Pro

My plantronics voyager pro pairs and works just fine with both my blackberry and a Windows laptop. i was even able to dictate with it.
Today I tried pairing it with my Macbook and got no joy. It pairs, and I select it as my output device in system preferences, but I get no sound in my ear. Anyone?

I'm not sure what happened before, but I followed a very specific setup order and it paired with Snow Leopard.
    1. I opened Bluetooth under System Preferences
    2. I put the headset in pairing mode (held down power button till I got red/blue flashing)
    3. I clicked the + to add devices
    4. It found it right away and paired
    5. I then clicked the button in my ear (the one you use to answer/hang up a call)
    6. It then automatically started working
For skype I had to tell it to use the BT mike in Skype preferences, but itunes just started playing in my ear.

  • Just purchased an iPhone5 and can not pair my Plantronics Voyager Pro HD.  I can't get a flashing red/blue signal light.

Just purchased an iPhone5 and can not pair my Plantronics Voyager Pro HD.  I can't get a flashing red/blue signal light.

Did you press and hold the power button until the LED flashes alternating red/blue - you may have to hold it for quite a few seconds.  If the LED is not flashing red/blue, then it is not in pairing mode, and I would then call Plantronics tech support as their manual has nothing else to offer (I have the same headset, but I had no problem pairing with my iPhone 5 when I upgraded from my iPhone 4).

  • IPhone 4 and Plantronics Voyager Pro

Apple sells plantronics headsetds,..mine worked great with my blackberry,.my iPhone doesnt pick it up??.Anyone have any IDEA why?

Ok, for those of you who have a Plantronics Voyager Pro bluetooth headset, I got a connection/"pairing". This is what I did:
    1) I turned off my bluetooth headset.
    2) Go to Settings in iPhone and turn "on" your bluetooth so that it is searching ...
    3) Then I turned on the headset until I saw the blue light, AND CONTINUED to HOLD DOWN the on/off switch until the blue light was FLASHING.
    4) The "pairing" took place during the flashing.
Holding down the power button on your Voyager Pro headeset acts like as a "hard reset", and starts a "new" search for a new device or new software, in this case it's iOS5 or your new iPhone, or both.
Before doing the steps above my iMac (desktop computer) had the same problem of not "discovering" my bluetooth headset. But after I did the steps, I set my iMac to "discover mode" and the "pairing" between these two devices was successful.
    OTHER bluetooth headsets
Try doing a "hard reset" on your bluetooth device, if you are trying to connect with an iPhone, iPad, or desktop computer that is running iOS5 or Lion.
The problem seemed that my bluetooth headset was trying to connect with devices that were paired with previous operating systems (ie: iOS4 or Snow Leopard). When I upgraded my operating systems to iOS5 and Lion, my bluetooth needed to "start fresh", hence the "hard reset" on the bluetooth.

  • Pre, Plantronics Voyager Pro, Connected ... but not

Is anybody else having problems with their Pre and the Plantronics Voyager Pro? I haven't really been able to figure out what's going on, but my connection is flaky. It'll work great for a while, and suddenly won't connect. I seem to have to power-cycle both the bluetooth on the Pre and on the Voyager Pro to ge them to reconnect. Here's what I've been experiencing:
    1) Phone and Voyager Pro pair up just fine.
    2) Make a call. Everything works great.
    3) Do something wrong I haven't been able to replicate.
    4) Connection between Pre and Voyager is terminated. Voyager beeps low tone to indicate this, but Pre still claims to be connected to the Voyager Pro. Bluetooth icon and top right menu item remain unchanged.
    5) Turn the Voyager Pro OFF.
    6) Pre still claims to be connected to a device that — now — isn't even on.
    7) Turn Voyager Pro back on. Pre won't reconnect, presumably because it thinks it's still connected in the first place.
    8) Power cycle Pre's bluetooth radio.
    9) Honky-dory.
    WTH?
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)

Wow, it took a while for someone to confirm this one.
Are you using the screen lock feature? I was using the simple 4-digit pin and the ONLY thing that fixed this issue for me was to turn the screen locking feature off completely. Since then, I've had almost no problems with the headset.
It seems there's something going on in the OS where when the screen locks it disconnects the headset and it has trouble reacquiring. Especially if you're trying to answer a call from the headset while the screen is locked. It was such an inconsistent issue for me, though, I could never nail it down to just one thing causing the headset to drop and not reconnect.

  • HT4111 What can I do to have the new Ipad discover plantronics voyager pro headset?

What can I do to have the new Ipad discover plantronics voyager pro headset?

    Try this:
Make sure you turn off the voyager ( red light) and then hold the power button until you see the alternating red and blue flashing light that indicates it is discoverable.  Then go back to the iPad settings and you should see that it has discovered the voyager.  Then select (touch where it says 'voyager') and it should pair.

  • Why is my IPhone 5 not pairing with my Plantronics voyager pro headset?

Can someone please help out? My iPhone 5 is not pairing with any of my devices.

I upgraded from IOS5 to IOS 6 this morning.  Previously my Voyager PRO+ was able to stream music, youtube, Siri, any audio.  Since the upgrade, Siri still works-- but no streaming of audio goes to my headset anymore.  I was thinking of "forgetting" the device and re-linking, but based on your experience, I'm guessing that won't help.

  • Plantronics Voyager Pro

I am using a blueant T-1 headset with my iPhone 4s.  The people on the other end of the conversation can't understand most of our conversations and complain that it is very muddy sounding.  I have a plantronics voyager headset that works well as far as audio clarity.  It doesn't announce the caller name in my headset like the blueant.  My question is if anyone out there has the pro series headset from plantronics does it announce the incoming callers name??
Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your feedback, and I will not do that again :-)
    Model: 2779-A17
OS: Windows XP Professional (Version 2002, Service Pack 3)
Pressing Fn-F5 takes me to "Change Power Settings of Wireless Radios".
When bluetooth is on, I manage to pair and connect my headset. However, except from registering the headset as an "audio device" my PC seems unable to register any possible services of this bluetooth audio device, hence the feedback from Plantronics stating that I need a computer that supports the "profile" (see first post).
    Anyone?

  • Can I pair a plantronics voyager pro + with my droid charge?

According to the instructions it does not work. According to the plantronics site the phone is not listed. Wanted to see what all you think before I buy another headset.
    Thanks!

No it does not supply enough power for a macbook pro.

  • Plantronics Voyager Pro UC connection issue

I recently purchased this blue tooth headset.  I installed the software and it looks to be connected to Skype.  However, the headset does not work.  I can select the device from the drop-down and when I test the sound it shows it outputting but, I do not hear anything from the headset itself.  I spoke with Plantronics and they tell me this is a Skype issue.
On my laptop I am also using Avaya One-X Communicator and the headset works fine with that.  The Plantronics control panel also shows the headset is synced with both Avaya AND Skype.
OS = Windows XP (I also tested this on a Win 7 laptop and it does not work there either)
    Thanks!

After going through such technical issues for days, I have managed to come up with another work around which works for me.
After connecting the headset, I goto SOUNDS by rightclicking on the sound icon on the toolbars. Under Playback tab, I disable Headset PLT_VoyagerPRO Stereo and make Headset PLT_VoyagerPRO Hands-Free as the default communication device. Under the Recording tab, I make Headset PLT_VoyagerPRO Hands-Free the default communication device.
I also use my computer for Voip calls. to use the headsets for that as the same settings for skype doesn't work, I disable all but Headset PLT_VoyagerPRO Hands-Free under both Playback and Recording tab.
I hope that works for you too.
