Currently FaceTime only works over Wi-Fi, so no, you don't get charged for using it. You just have to pay your monthly internet bill to pay for the Wi-Fi.

Do you get charged for renting an iTunes movie if you don't get to watch it before it expires? If so, that doesn't really seem fair since it is removed after the 30 days are up? ...so, in other words are you charged when you rent and download it, or when you watch it?

You are charged when you rent it - whether you actually then watch it doesn't affect that, and you won't be refunded if you don't.

Why are apple charging for the January update

I bought my ipod for Christmas. It's unfair that I'm now having to pay for applications that are free of charge 3 weeks later on new units. Had I have known then I would have waited. The apple store made no mention of any update at the time of purchase. Could someone from apple please advise if this will become free in the future or whether this is standard policy to charge recent customers immediately on release of software that is free to newer clients.

Get used to it! Seriously, if you don't want to you don't have to pay for it, and right now you don't need to. The touch is not the iPhone. This seemingly obvious observation appears to have been missed by some. You must have access to the internet via Wi Fi (either at home or at a hotspot). So all those pretty icons of maps, weather, stocks are dead in the water unless you are connected (unlike the iPhone people who are always connected). If you really want a screen full of icons just set up an iTapPad page (see webapps) and then you can have up to 10 pages of icons chock full of webapps that you can access for free once connected to the internet, including maps, weather, and a Notes look-alike.
Resident apps, those that sit on your touch and don't require a Wi Fi connection to function, will come from developers and some will possibly be free, but expect to pay for most. They will probably be downloaded through iTunes, and Apple will probably want a slice of the pie (pun intended) for the service.

can u use face time free over seas as long as u get an international service?

Facetime uses an external wifi system, so I don't see international facetime being an issue.

It's really not recommended. The iPhone's 5w charger does not output enough current to properly charge the battery. It -may- charge but if it did, it would charge the iPad very slowly.
This would be like trying to fill a bucket of water (iPad) with a squirt gun (5w charger)
Also under iOS 7, the charging requirements are much stricter than iOS 6. You'll likey get an error message if you try.

The information on the chargers are similiar but for the output it's a bit different: (They both say 5V but than 1.8 instead of 1.5)
PlayBook charger output: 5V = 1.8A
Android tablet charger output: 5V = 1.5A

Try deleting the problematic file (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.

Do you make a solar powered charger for the iPad .

I do quite a bit of hiking and I have been using a sunleaf pro solar charger to charge my iPad 2. It's the only one that I have found that is in my price range (under $200) that can charge it directly without the use of a battery. It also folds up really small so it is easy to take with in my pack. I have tried other solar chargers rated at 7 and 10 watts but neither would actually provide any meanigful charge. My iPad would show the charging symbol but the percentage of charge would seldom increase. I think the sunleaf is rated at 15 watts.
