HT204380 cannot log into facetime or messages all preferences are correct

I have a new ipad and cannot log on to factime or the messages.  I have reset my apple id and my password.  Nothing works any ideas?
All facetime things are checked in the settings area too

Try turning FaceTime off and on in Settings. As for SnapChat, try reinstalling the app or perhaps waiting for the next update on the App Store. I'm not familiar with SnapChat, so that's all I can really give you for the second app.

Go down to: Open Network Preferences

    Then on DNS
Then click on the + sign and put the following numbers: 8.8.8.8

    Update to above question:
    Hello All,
To anyone with the same problem described above, on THEIR iPad (if it is running iOS 7.0.2):
Go to Settings; Mail, Contacts, Calendars; DELETE your *******@btinternet.com e-mail account, that you originally set up either using 'Other', or the 'BT' option which I am sure was in the list previous to the iOS 7 update.
Then ADD a NEW account choosing YAHOO from the list of options. DO NOT USE 'OTHER'.
Enter the correct details just as you (almost certainly) had already done in your previous attempts using 'other'.
When you see the 'verifying......' and 'the blue ticks' you should be able to exit settings and open your mail app and then receive all your 'old' e-mails again, AND be able to SEND as well.
All my 'old' e-mails, were NOT found in the 'old e-mail' folder though. THEY are still in my inbox.
So this fix worked for me.
After I deleted my account from 'OTHER' and put it in Yahoo, I like other people also ended up with more folders.
I hope this works for you on YOUR Apple devices.
    Bob

  • I cannot log into FaceTime using my Apple ID on my iPad Air

Whenever I try logging into FaceTime with my Apple ID it says check your network connection .

Apple posted this about the facetime issues. You may find an answer there. One thing to bear in mind is that both parties have to have their devices updated.

  • TS3367 Cannot log into FaceTime using correct apple ID, tried several times and restarted numerous times as per messages posted on apple community postings still nothing seems to solve the problem! Please help!

Tried to log into my FaceTime account, but keep on getting "password incorrect" message. Restarted iPad as suggested by posted comments but still no positive result. Tried alternative email accounts such as @me.com but also no positive result. Please help.

Well after two attempts at trying to repair Facetime and iMessage by restoring my iPad, I am still left with the same outcome, no Facetime or iMessage. What I think has happened is when I first set up my iPad I used a different password, now that i have changed my password and cannot remember the old one I cannot access eitehr application. Whast strange is that you would think that when changing my password it would change the password on all devices when doing the synch from iTunes. For some reason this has not happened and the old password is still intact in Facetime and iMessage. I even tried backing up twice, the first time from iCloud and secondly from my Mac but even this has not resolved the problem. I also set up my iPad as a "new" iPad and this also had no impact. still struggling to resolve this, would appreciate help if anyone out there has a solution or something else I can try. i have run out of ideas.

  • Cannot log into FaceTime, iCloud, AppStore

I STILL cant log into MAS after the 10.6.8 update now on Lion 10.7.2 and now can't log into MAS, Facetime and iCloud.
Attached are screen shots of the errors.
All three problems are only on my MacBook, iMac and iPhone can login fine.
Apple customer support has been next to useless.
Tried all the network preferences deleting, no use.
Built in ethernet port is not working but i do have an Apple USB ethernet adapter.
This is now really annoying me, has been going on for ages and still no solution.

I would swear this has to be a simple p-list issue...  But since we are getting desperate, might as well throw these three things at it.

  • Cannot log into account in messages

I have logged into my normal Apple account in order to post this question, but in Messages I get an error about the server having an error in processing the registration, and that I should try later.
I live in NYC, but am in England this week. That may be relavent. As I can't log into the main account, my individual AIM account shows has me having no buddies at all, and my other accounts show all buddies as being offline. But in fact they may be offline, it's only 6:17am on Christmas Day in the US!
Still, it would be nice if I could get my buddy list back for AIM. Any ideas?

Thank you both for the pointer. There was a little more to fix than just the time, but if I had tried that in the first place it probably would have worked. I'll describe what I did, for anyone else who gets the same situation:
My time was set correctly, but not using the automatic setting, because I only saw the US time server available. When I turned on auto setting I was set back to New York time.
I tried to set the time zone, but got a message about needing to turn on location services, so I did that. Once I had turned on that, and the auto time setting, the time became correct again, and it also set the time zone (and even the part of Nottingham that I'm in).
Messages still didn't work, so I restarted. Still I apparenetly had no buddies.
However, amongst my other attempts to fix things I had been trying @mac.com, @me.com, and @icloud.com. All three would let me log in, but none gave me buddies (this was before the time fix). Having got the time right it still failed to work, but that turned out to be because I was still set to @icloud.com. Changing it back to the normal mac.com fixed everything.
    Thanks again for the telp.

  • HT204380 I can't use Facetime. Checked all settings are correct.

I cant use Facetime. I see the missed calls. I can't place a call either. Confirmed settings are correct following the troubleshooting guide. My WiFi works fine (can send text /o issues). My contacts are all iPhone users.

Thanks for your reply.  Since posting this I somehow managed to create an IMAP account on my phone and everything is coming through npow!!
    I don't know what i did but it's working.
FYI I'm with Sky,com and a password is required.  No error messages were being received.
    Thanks

  • I cannot sing into FaceTime or messages with my apple ID

I just bough an iPad 2 and created an apple ID. I received the verification email and my ID was verified. However, when I try to sing into face time I select to connect using my apple ID, then the screen where I am asked to choose what email address I want use and does not let me to write or press next. It just return to the previous screen where it asks for the apple ID and password. I did this several time and still doesn't work.

Try this(relevant passage from Apple support document):
FaceTime registration validates your Apple ID or phone number for use with FaceTime. If you are unable to activate FaceTime, try the following:
Sign in to FaceTime on your device using a valid Apple ID. After you validate the email address for use with FaceTime, other FaceTime users can connect to you using that email address. If you encounter issues registering or using an Apple ID account:
Ensure that you have an active Internet connection.
Verify that you are using a valid Apple ID at myinfo.apple.com. You can also create an Apple ID or reset your password from this website.
Check that your email address is verified in Settings > FaceTime.
If Settings > FaceTime shows your email status as "verifying," follow the instructions in the verification email that was sent to complete the process.
Toggle FaceTime off and on in Settings > FaceTime.

  • I have installed latest update and checked all preferences are correct in my MAC but still cannot download PDFs from some websites

When I am on a website and need to download a PDF it tells me I need to get latest update of Adobe Reader. So I get latest update (God knows how many times now) but still cannot open the PDFs - any suggestions?

This is probably because the websites you are visiting have bad Javascripts to check the version of Acrobat but can you screenshot the error that you receive and the post it?
