Im having trouble downloading the iMovie app on my iPad. When I click on the iCloud icon it says that it will download without additional charge because I've already purchased it(I did purchase it) but after that it goes back to the icloud icon and doesnt download. How can I download it?
Hello bianca,
It sounds like you are trying to download a previous purchase to your iPad but the item never downloads. I would recommend starting by closing all the apps that are running in the background.
iOS: Force an app to close
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5137
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that, sign out of your iTunes account in Settings > iTunes and App stores, and restart the phone and try again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
If the issue persists, I would next backup your device to iTunes, and restore it:

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

my ipod touch 5 generation 16gb wont restore on itunes and sometimes it says that an error has accord (4013)
Check USB connections
If there’s an issue with the USB port, cable, dock, or hub, or if the device becomes disconnected during restore, try troubleshooting the USB connection, then troubleshooting your security software.
Common errors: 13, 14, 1600-1629, 1643-1650, 2000-2009, 4000, 4005, 4013, 4014, 4016, “invalid response”, and being prompted to restore again after a restore completes.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
Use another USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.
If you see your error after changing your USB connections, continue to the next section to troubleshoot your hardware.
Check for hardware issues
Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. If you still see the alert when you update or restore, contact Apple support.
Common errors: 1, 10-47, 1002, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1000-1020. -
I just got a new iPod touch 4th generation and I'm trying to connect to my router and my iPod says, 'Cannont find network.' I don't know what to do! No other networks come up on the list so I can't 'tag' along with thier wifi. Please help. I need advice.
What type network is yu router set up for? The 4G iPod can only connect and see 2.4 GHZ networl like B, G and the 2,4 GHz N. There is also a 5 GHz N but the iPod will not even seethat network.

No FaceTime with my new iPod touch 5g
I bought a new ipod touch here in middle east so that I can use facetime to make video call to my family. But I found out that there is no Facetime install on my new iPod Touch 5th generation. Is there's a way to have facetime like my wifes ipod touch 4th gen ?
ThanksIf the iPod was officially sold in one of the middle eastern countries that prohibit FaceTime then there is no way to make FT appear.

I have an iPod touch 3rd generation with IOS 4.2.1 and the newest version of iTunes. However, when I press "check for updates" it says that IOS 4.2.1 is the current version. How do I update?
I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1.
Identifying iPod models
iPod touch (3rd generation)
iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.
The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318. -
I have just got the new iPod touch. Everything is working except my iMessage and I don't know how I can set it up.
Illaass
Gave my grandsons iPods for Xmas. Looks like one of them downloaded an app (text+) and must/may have deleated on hisiPod the iMessage app that was included on both with both iPods.
I want to ditch this new app (text+) and return iMessage to his phone as they both are wifi only and iMessaget is what they should both use. Ialso have a iPad (wifi only) and a iphone (both on iOS5) and a MacBook on 10.7.2
Any help as to how to do this (I would prefer not to due a full restore to the affected iPod if possible) -
I just want to know when the new ipod touch 5th generation will come out
i just want to know when the new ipod touch 5th generation will come out
Apple has not announced any new iPod models. When they do, we'll all find out at the same time, I would guess, since the announcement will be prominent on every Apple-related web site and will probalby be posted in multiple threads in these forums.
Forum Tip: Since you're new here, you've probably not discovered the Search feature available on every Communities page, but next time, it might save you time (and everyone else from having to answer the same question multiple times) if you search a couple of ways for a topic, both in the relevant forums and in the Apple Knowledge Base before you post a question.

Does anyone have an actual date in October when tese wonderful new iPod Touch 5th generation wil be avaiable?
Try charging the ipod touch on a wall charger and make sure the outlet is working. And leave it there for 10 minutes.
Or try holding the power and home until apple logo appears. -
Why hasn't apple set an official release date on the new ipod touch 5th generation?
I was really happy to preorder the new Ipod touch and thinking it was going to be shipped when the iPhone came out. But why do we have to wait until october ?
Correction the ANNOUNCED it on the 12th of september.
Nobody knows (except for apple of course). All it says on the ipod touch page that it ships in October so it could be any date. I predict that it is in the first two weeks of October but when it says buy it now instead of pre-order you know its about to come out. -
my daughter has a brand new ipod touch - latest one - she started to input a passcode then didn't finish the process then turned off ipod. she turned it back on and it is asking for a passcode - she doesn't remember what she typed. Ipod is now disabled for one hour. Can we override the disable. How do we reset passcode when we don't klnow the original. It has never been synced to Itunes. I am completely lost.
If You Are Locked Out Or Have Forgotten Your Passcode
iTunes 10 for Mac- Update and restore software on iPod, iPhone, or iPad
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
iOS- Understanding passcodes
If you have forgotten your Restrictions code, then follow the instructions
below but DO NOT restore any previous backup. If you do then you will
simply be restoring the old Restrictions code you have forgotten. This
same warning applies if you need to restore a clean system.
A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (if You Forget Your Passcode)
If you need to restore your device or ff you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
2. Connect your device to your computer.
3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
4. Select the Summary tab.
5. Select the Restore option.
6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
necessary to create another.
7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
you see "iPhone is activated."
9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup. If you do not have a
backup to restore, then restore as New. -
Can my new Ipod touch 5 16GB be traded into Apple?
On Apple's website i typed in "can my new iPod touch be traded in?" and it didnt come up with any answer. I'm saving up for a new laptop. I just wanna know how much my iPod is worth at Apple
HERE IS SOME BACKSGROUND INFO:
It is an iPod touch 5
16GB
Silver
No engravings
Has lightning cable & ear pods
All buttons work functionally
Like practally new
No scratchesIf you purchased the iPod from an Apple Store within the last 14 calendar days, you can return it for a full refund presuming that it's undamaged. Otherwise, Apple does not take trade-ins on iPods. All they'll give you is a recycling credit of 10% off the price of a new iPod, and obviously you could sell your iPod yourself for a lot more than that.

My iPod touch 4 generation 32gb sometimes is really slow. When ever my iPod is being slow and I get on an app the app will shut down. My lock botton is broken and I use the accesery botton to lock it. That being said I can't power down my iPod. I need help, I don't know what to do! Could you tell me how I can power down my iPod or how I can fix the slowness and the shutting down of the apps.
- Periodically double click the home button and close all the apps in the recently used dock. Then power off and then back on the iPod. This frees up memory. The 4G only has 256 MB of memory.
- Next, reset the iPod
To reset the iPod without the hardware buttons,
Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. All your wifi and bluetooth preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected. You will have to rejoin wifi networks and repair BT devices
Then you can try:
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device. -
Can you set a song as an alarm on iPod touch 2nd generation?
Hi all -
I have a daily morning alarm set on my iPod touch 2nd generation, and have a standard (blues) Ringtone, but would like to jazz it up a little by playing a song from my music library, and not the standard tone. Any possible way to do that witha second gen. iPod touch?I added the song "Let Me Take You Home Tonight" by Boston by going to the iTunes Music Store and purchasing it as a ringtone. If you do it from your computer you have to sync it to your iPod Touch. Then in the alam sounds panel there is a place for "purchased" Your song should appear there.
