I don't see any DDR3L on the page for the RAM that would fit your model -> http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/Apple_MacBook_MacBook_Pro/Upgrade/DDR3_133 3MHz_SDRAM.
But the answer is that it doesn't really matter - just make certain to get 1333MHz.

If your info is correct you need to first buy Snow Leopard from the Apple on-line store ($20) install and update to 10.6.8 and then buy Lion from the App Store for $20.

This update is not available for this apple ID because it was bought by a different user or the item was refunded or cancelled.

Apps are forever tied to the AppleID used to download them.
Either use the original AppleID or delete the app and then download again
using your current AppleID. You cannot transfer an app from one AppleID to
another, nor can you merge AppleIDs.

I am working on a project with two other people that uses PDF's that need cropping and saving as both PDF's and JPG. I know that both Photoshop and Photoshop Elements can do these tasks, the only problem is that I am working with others who do not have these programs installed on their laptops and neither they nor I have a budget to be able to purchase either of these programs. Can any one recommend alternative software (preferably Free or Open Source) that will allow us to get the job done quickly and easily.

Which iPad 2 is best for me? What uses the space up the most?

I'm considering an iPad 2 purchase, but just wondering if I go for the 64GB model would it be space wasted? I don't plan on doing any video editing, and I won't store my main iPhoto library on it (but will likely keep a few photos on there for showing people). Would the 16GB model be fine? How much space does a typical application take up? I am not interested in 3G, Wi-fi only.

I made a decision that I would manage with the 16 GB. That's all I could afford and just as importantly, I want to change my mobile computing habits to rely more on cloud storage. (I have a 500 GB drive in my MacBook Pro and separate terabyte drives for photos and music, so I'm well aware of my tendencies to accumulate.)
So, I have Netflix and Time Warner and MLB for entertainment, and DropBox and MobileMe for storage. I also have a Kindle with plenty of reading and the capability to get more in an instant.
Movies are the biggest space eater IMHO. I have one movie and plan to never have more than two (I'm not taking trans-ocean flights though I wish I were.) I have a lot of apps and plan to have more (I'm currently auditioning every drawing app).
My current usage is just over 4 GB. I expect I'll add no more than 3 GB of music and perhaps photos at some point and another movie. I'm still going to have tons of room which means if I want to create and edit movies or songs on a whim, I can.
So, for me it turns out tharT 16 GB is more than enough. You have to weigh your needs against your wallet.
As for resale value, there will always be a big market for the lower end item among those, like me, who are on budget. Personally I've never given a thought to resale value when I purchased Apple products. I've just bought what I needed when I needed it and found that what I didn't need any more sold in a snap.

Was your iPod previously set up to Manually Manage (where you dragged/dropped the music) or was it set to auto sync (where it started sycning as soon as you plugged it in.)?
If it was set to Manual, you have no worries. Just continue on your way.
If it was set to Auto, you will have to transfer your purchases or redownload them from the iTunes store.
You're either going to have to get the other music back from the websites/CDs you got them from before or find an iPod ripping software program that will do it for you.

Seagate 320 gig Barracuda (ST3320820AS) vs. Samsung 320 gig HD320KJ vs. factory WD/Apple 250 gig drive. All about the same age (3/07) except for the Apple 250 which is about 8/06.

Everybodys milage seems to vary with Hard drives as does the current quality of certain manufactures. Personally I've been burned numerous times on Seagate drives but that could simply be my luck of the draw. What is really more important is how you use specific drives vs their reliability.
I have a RAID 5 Linux server in my rack for my major archiving. That server has been built with Raptor OS drives (Small ones, 36Gb) as all it has is FC5. The RAID array is built from much cheaper (per Gb) 500Gb WD Caviar drives. In my configuration this comes to about 1.25Tb of RAID 5 storage. I can sustain a full drive failure without losing my data. I can also lose my OS drive, buy an new one, Install Fedora 5 again, and my RAID will still be there. (I've backed up the critical files necessary to support this and I've tested it. It works.)
My MacPro is just about to be rebuilt. I got a Hitachi Ultrastar from Newegg.com

I have 4x500Gb WD drives in my Pro configured to be a RAID 1 from 2 1Tb logical volumes. I plan on using this for quick local archive of projects as yanking a 50Gb project from there is still much faster than off my RAID 5 plus my RAID 5 is quickly getting filled from my photography work so I'm using the RAID 1 for my video work. In addition to that, I have a Firewire 800 1TB external drive to run on TimeMachine and back up all my working files on my new OS drive. If I sound paranoid. I am. Just remember no matter WHO's drive you buy, it is, in the end, not a question of IF it might fail, but WHEN. You should plan your work environment expecting your drives will fail and then make sure you have enough backup that you can recover from that. One could argue there may be holes even in my backup plan. There are, but in the end, I can recover everything, baring my home burning down. (and actually I'm covered for that, all be it the latency in the backup is probably on a 2 week cycle).

So the menu bar reads iChat, File, Edit, View, Buddies, Video, Window and Help
There is no Buddy List open.
There is no other window for iChat open.
In the iChat Menu you only have access to Status.
Is an item ticked in the list ?
Is this a green (Available item) or Red ( an Away one) ?
Can you access the Accounts option ? (Sitll in the iChat Menu)
Is anything in here ticked ?
In the Window menu any Logged in account should appear in the list (Between the Next Chat and File Transfer items)
It would be useful to know which version of iChat this is.
If no account is ticked (iChat Menu > Accounts) or not showing in the Window Menu, plus you cannot determine the Status and you cannot access the Preferences then you need to access your Home Folder/Library/Preferences
As the Library in the Home Holder is Invisible in Lion you will need the Finder's Go Menu > Go to Folder option (you can use it in earlier OS versions if you want)
Type in:-
~/Library/Preferences
Find the file called com.apple.ichat.plist
Drag it to the Trash and Restart iChat.
This will lose all the settings in iChat that you have changed from Defaults but there is no way around this.
